We make our own Sambal Oelek! This is a sauce that can be used for a variety of dishes. From minced meat sauce to tacos, sallads and much more!
The store-bought Sambal oelek tends to be very salty and sour, at least in my local area.
Our own, homemade, Sambal Oelek has a much richer flavor and is much less salty and can be used for even more dishes!
    Please enjoy!

Thank you so much for sharing your recipe. I am no chef but am creative in the kitchen. I love Sambal Oelek. It was cheap enough in the stores, so I never considered making my own, but now there's a shortage and the price jumped 500% or more, so I'm going to start making my own. As I often do, I jazz up store bought to be better, so I've already been sort of making my own. I have been taking Huy Fong, then adding a LOT of lime, cilantro and just a dash of honey to expand the dimension, but not really make sweet. I use that on everything. It makes a heck of a chicken wing sauce. A batch of that can last in my fridge for a month or more. I guess the lime preserves it. Even the cilantro stays bright green. So now instead of embellishing, I need to also make the starter. You've helped me to learn how. Thank you very much.
I've just now looked at a few recipes and seen some not cooked so it didn't occur to me to do that, but after seeing you do it, I'm convinced. I think it would change it from liquid with chunks to more of a true sauce, as well as release and blend the flavors. Thanks again.

Depends on where you live. Some call it «bell peppers», some «capsicum», though it is the same. Some English speaking countries do refer to dried red pepper as «paprika» also («sweet paprika», «hot paprika» and «smoked paprika»). Where I live, we call both the fruit and the dried powder spice «paprika». 😊

That's not cutting a tomato, that's scoring a tomato. Different methods. You might have seen that if you kept watching. I hope you learn to not miss out on such great tutorials and other things in life, just because someone does things, or initially appears to do things, that you do differently. Otherwise, you'll never learn anything new. And just remember, its ok, you are good enough as you are. You don't need to insult people to try to appear higher than them. Find your worth independent of that my friend.
