- After seeing birds dump into a hidden hole in the marsh on previous hunts we decided to make a long hike into the spot to see what it was all about. We arrived a couple hours before high tide and found that the pond was loaded with ducks and had quite a few swans hanging out on it too. We threw out a spread of Heyday honker, mallard, and pintail decoys and before long there were birds bombing back in. Hope you enjoy!

Roo is a great dog Thomas. She'll get even better as the season progresses. She marks well and blind retrieves well. Be careful with the E collar.

Wow Rue is really coming together well. She is tremendous at marking down birds. Staying pretty steady now also.

Local ducks have pushed out of NE SoDak, but am optimistic we'll see some coming down here this weekend was things cool down pretty dramatically up north. Let me know if you are interested in getting Rue on some pheasants later this fall/early winter.

She actually belong to Cory Loeffler, who I work for, and I just had the pleasure of getting to hunt her in Alaska. Not sure where he got her from, but I know she'll be having puppies sometime this winter and I'd highly recommend checking out that litter. I got a pup from her last one and while I haven't got to hunt him yet he's been showing lots of promise in training!

Rue is Cory Loeffler’s dog, I work for him and he was up in Alaska this summer so he left her up there so that I could hunt with her. I have a pup out of her last litter that is at the trainer right now

From anyone trying to scout the area, the only way to put eyes on that pond is to walk all the way into it because of the bullrush surrounding it
