Timber Tour | Welcome to Arkansas

- Last winter, we set out to run @FirstLiteHuntingApparel's new timber-hunting waterfowl pattern, Cache, through the wringer. With our buddy Chef Jean-Paul Bourgeois at the helm, the First Lite crew put the ’24 gear to a final test across the southern half of the Mississippi flyway. And to no one’s surprise, they had a blast doing it. Presented by First Lite

Hunting is fun, shooting guns is fun...but for me, watching a dog with a job do what he/she is trained to do is something else all together...that little tail wag when told "Good Dog!" is what makes it so worth doing and watching!
I agree with you.
Long story about a great doh so don't bitch about it as I warned ya
Man I can't agree more. I ran a German Shorthair named Copper. Damn was that dog a hunter, and boy did he LOVE to work. Not only that I'd work with him all day and I'd be unloading gear and cleaning birds and he'd go wrestle with my boys. After all that and we relaxed after supper he'd crawl up next to my wife and keep her feet warm while we wound down by the fireplace in my cabin. Damn was he the greatest dog. We loved him so much we searched for a good female to breed. We had 2 litters and stopped because she had huge litters of big pups. We has 32 pups from 2 litters. We had people calling us for 5 years asking when our next litter was they wanted another dog so bad. Had one running in the dog show circuit and took first for her breed and sporting group in Kentucky. I worked a few pups and they were as good as their dad. Plus they were all good pets. We kept 2 pups and kept track of about half of them all great dogs. Lost Copper at 15 to stomach cancer and one of his pups my son kept to work as well at 13. Man I miss them dogs. When I got hurt at work that dedicated hunter quit and became my best friend. I had 5 surgeries trying to fix my spine over 2 years and was bed ridden a year and he never left my side. Nothing like a dedicated hunting dog!
Preach! 👏
That lab is so happy with their job and I bet it slept hard that night. Reminds me of my best dog, my black lab Yoyo. As quick as he landed he’d be up in the air quicker than before
@@ClimptonDiddlehopperthank you for sharing your story!
Duck camp dinners the best show on CZcams
Dude Chef JP is definitely the best host on the channel other than Steve Rinella all of his series’ are bangers
Yeah his a cool dude. Cal and clay are good lads too.
Absolutely. JP is the man.
I think you mean CJP is the best host on the channel, and Rinella is a distant second lol 😀
I can handle three episodes with Jean-Paul!
Fuck yes Meateater - keep Jean-Paul coming and all the duck videos! 🦆
I have been waiting for some more duck camp dinners!
Anything with Chef Jean Paul is good!
From AR so really looking forward to this and any more to come from AR! ❤️
As soon as I heard Chef JP's voice, I knew this would be good.
Chef JP is a top notch host! I really enjoyed duck camp dinners! Hope more of that is on the way! I like this one as well! Anything with JP is an automatic watch! His ability to narrate and really get in depth with the passion and heritage of the folks that he shares his hunts with makes it even better! He truly enjoys what he does and connecting with folks! Would love to get him to Illinois for a deer hunt or rabbit hunt!
I have too agree
My favorite meateater presenter Jean Paul with a new series! 🎉
Heres to hoping we get more duck camp dinner seasons this year!
😏 the greese is gettin hot!
Absolutely Awesome Video!! But I miss your duck camp cooking!! 🤗🤗
Thank you meat eater for being the best hunting and outdoor educational content creators ever. So good to see chef Jean Paul back as well
Excited for this series. Chef Jean-Paul is great.
Pretty cool and you couldn’t ask for much better duck hunting. Even so, Duck Camp Dinners still reigns supreme! Love that series of hunting, comradery, and of course cooking and eating.
Love any series with chef in it!!
Yes! Chef is finally back at it again! 🙌 Great episode fellas!
Looking forward to the next parts. Chef Bourgeois's fantastic series shooting in Louisiana and now Arkansas is a treat and for me some of the best content on MeatEater.
The land management moments of these videos are extremely useful to me and my dream of the future. Thank you.
M. O. R. E. :). Love JP and all the duck episodes…. So good!
The boss (JPB) is back!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can we get rid of all the other random knuckleheads that have been popping up on this channel and give those episodes to him?
I thoroughly enjoy all things MEATEATER but this was amazing! Awesome huntin boys!
Bout time Chef is back!
These guys are very fortunate to be able to hunt with Mr. Carmical and his bunch they are top notch!
Have been lucky to be able to hunt with them many times. You are correct
Me liking the video after hearing Chef Jean Paul intro 😮💨
Stoked for these episodes!
Thank you 🙏🏽
Welcome back Chef! This is going to be such an epic series.
A gourmet chef looking forward to gas station food. I love it!!!
Fantastic boys. Amazing camera work. Bring on the next chapters
Every time JP shows up on the meateater feed I get excited. Him and Bagbey make better content than the original Meateater show. Hype for the next two episodes!
High praise! Thank you for watching. We have some very exciting things coming down the pipeline for y’all and I can’t wait to get started again this winter.
I worked for Mr. Dick in college. Spent many hours on his place. Great guy and a very nice place
Mate, jean paul is back!! Missed yah
Nice content J P, your boys from the houseboat in Bayou Black would be foaming at the mouth seeing all those green heads locked up and coming in hot. No poulle deau up there in the flooded timber. It was raining mallards , Lloyd what you think about this stuff.....not too shabby for a country boy who moved to Texas and shooting like Daniel Boone......Thanks to the Carmichal family for being such awesome stewards of their land and creating and preserving habitat...BRAVO
@glenntoups4615 Yea we still salty about it. 😂😂😂
Loved the duck hunting series you did last year Chef, this one did not disappoint. I think my favorite part wasn't the shooting but the conservation work they've done on that family homestead, super cool! keep them coming!
THANK YOU Chef!!! Appreciate all your duck hunting series 🇺🇲
This series got spoiled starting out in timberland. Geezus!!
Love JPBs take on everything! Great epidode
The Meateater network is amazing. I love seeing people from the main episodes get an opportunity for their own series
I CANT SMASH THE LIKE BUTTON MORE, so glad to have Chef B back.
I would have def wet my pants! Great Episode. Can't wait to see more!
😂
@@danielbagbey4077 Always Top Notch when Bags and CJP are involved.
Ive been watching you since the start and this is my favorite!
mannn i love anything chef JP does. well done, my friend.
I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Dick. He is a great man that’s all about some waterfowl. I could just sit and watch the birds come and go all day.
Great video as always man!
Awesome video, excited for the rest of the series.
Love it! I have hunted AR green timber for 41 years. Nothing like it. Loved the video and I look forward to watching more of your content.
JPB is one of my favorites. Can't wait for the rest of the episodes. Arkansas is highest on my bucket list for sure.
Absolutely amazing show...looking forward to the rest
Great episode
Beautiful footage, Arkansas is where it's at for timber hunting
Greatest series on Meateater. John Paul is the man
Honestly my favorite series of videos
I've always dreamt of hunting a place like that. Those flooded woods seem so mysterious. One day I'll make it down there. Great show.
Excellent video! Love Delta Waterfowl and what they do!
Badass. Great history & hell of a hunt.
Aint nothing like hunting the timber in Stuttgart AK. some of the best hunting ive ever had a pleasure to be apart of. Got my first Greenhead there , and it was banded.
Arkansas is great duck hunting be nice to have those in louisiana .
Hey Jean-Paul thank your Friend for the interesting History of the Timber 👍.
JO JO IN VT 💞
Where's that amazing "getducks" hat from? Love it just as much as this format!
Great episode, can’t wait to see more!
Love Chef JP!
DUCK CAMP DINNERS. NEW EPS. PLEASE
Welcome back JP. We’re a couple of months away from duck season here on the east coast of Canada. Can’t wait
Family begged me to start duck hunting for years, always declined. Started 3 years ago now I've got a boat, a heap load of decoys and I'm 20K in debt. Best fun I've ever had with my clothes on.
gorgeous country!!
Chef JP, awesome hunt! This video show's the finer points of what duck hunting is all about. Long ago, my daddy taught me the old school way of hunting ducks and I still love it so! Good people, great dogs and good food, having fun in the woods! JP, what kind of cutdowns were y’all blowing in this video?? Lookin forward to the next Timber Tour!
This video is fantastic, Well made and good education, The entire conservation movement has always been done by hunters. I used to hunt ducks as a kid in S. Carolina, this brings back.
This is on the bucket list...... one of these years it's going to happen.
I already love this series 🤙🤙🦆
Love it!
great show
Great video guys! Keepem comin!
What an awesome place. One day I hope to get out there!
Bad ass video! It has it all! Definitely a 👍🏻.
Boots Down!!
Great Job Boys
Love it! Just need a little of chefs cooking sprinkled in now!
Meateater quality video in the duck woods. Love it.
What a treat of a video! Can't wait for parts 2 and 3. What a dream place to hunt waterfowl - striking beauty in a chilling and eerie way.
Looking forward to watching.
Amazing amazing
Keep em’ coming
This brings back memories we would hunt timber holes in the morning and rice fields in the afternoon.
That was beautiful
Nicely done guys!
Meat water is one of my favorites to watch Steve, Chef, Janis and all of the crew. I couldn't live in the south though too many mallards! I hunt lake superior and Mississippi river in Wisconsin and MN, give me variety flock of cans on Mississippi or flocks of teal on the big lake, plus there's always a shot at a rare duck, scooters, harlequin ,long tails, even saw eiders once almost got a shot. Thanks for doing a great job, keep them coming!
Too many autocorrects! Meateater.
That lab is living the best life imaginable & you can see it in that tail wag & those eyes intently looking for the splash of a busted green head 👊
Sweet!
Hells yeah
Good dog work right there! This was enjoyable to watch and I’m usually a large game guy!
Great video!
Awesome video!
Never heard a more south Louisianan name, and I’m from Louisiana lol
The hero of these series is definitely the dog 😅 but a nice hunting video as well...
Who wouldn't appreciate duck hunting like that, dog was in heaven with all those ducks.
It's great to watch another part of the country hunt ducks their way. I'm in Northern California and most of our hunting is in rice fields so when you see hunting in the timber the rice fields seem boring compared to timber hunts. Chef J-P can tell good stories on the hunt and looking forward to his new duck adventures.
Incredible cheers from San Antonio 🥃
Can’t believe we didn’t get to see one of your duck dishes. Always look forward to that more on jean pauls shows.
13:40 the look of joy and disbelief on that guy's face lol that would be me
I am so jealous! Every time he says "shoot em boys" I just about lose it! I can taste the duck breast meat!
Greetings from SW Arkansas
Watching a good dog work is better to me than watching the fellows shoot . I didn't know you could even hunt ducks in the timber. Great episode.. THX
