- Vicksburg, home to expert call builder Brad Eldridge, and the oxbows, button willows, and cypress slough's of the Mississippi Delta. Brad is known for building beautiful hand turned calls that do more than just look good. He'll be putting them to the test with Chef Jean Paul and the First Lite crew in the final episode of Timber Tour.

Meateater could do a whole series on the dogs of hunting
I greatly appreciate showing the slow mornings. We all know that if you duck hunt long enough, you will experience plenty of them. It makes the Chef's hunts more relatable to my own.
Awesome story on the dog! My friend bought a dog from the shelter and they told her it was a long haired dachshund puppy and it would be ~10lbs. Turned out to be a Black Lab - Irish Setter mix, 70lbs, and may be the smartest dog I've ever been around to this day. Swore that dog could understand English
Unbelievable. I am the owner of Parish and actually have an Irish Setter too, named Roux!!
My dad bought a dog that was supposed to be a pit. Bull and wound up being a brindle German Shepard pit mix. He could understand English also, and I swear he talked back without making a sound.
Chef is banging out GREAT content. All of his hunting adventures and host are awesome. What a great story about this black lab! And the humor between these two are the best. 😂 keep hunting, keep living.
Support for meat eater and first lite here in Georgia
Great shot of the dog watching a duck come in and then panning to the duck flying in. Great directing as usual.
I remember that moment in the field, it was a really cool moment for me. Parish was my cue that the ducks were coming in, just followed his gaze up and boom there they were. Smart dog.
Thanks @danielbagbey ❤
“You’re not a guide, you’re a friend.” Love it.
that condensation shooting off at 1:50 is like the smellivision for hunters... man what an amazingly shot episode..
Damn. Chef could always cook. Now he’s banging out triples.
Content really is getting better and better. A+ production and vibes. Must watch.
One of my favorite Meat Eater series ever!!
Great series. It's always nice to see small-towns being put on the map for something. I'm too excited for duck season
Brad is a classical representation of Americana Renaissance. Classy and rugged entrepreneurship. I love that he's a barista and a duck call builder. If I ever pass through Vicksberg I'm swinging in to say hello, grab a cup of coffee, and listen to duck stories. What a cool fella
Thanks so much!
Best 19 Bucks a man could ever spend!
Love the episodes but kinda wish they still had the cooking segments too
Man I love watching a good retriever just so cool and calm.
Awesome series! It makes me cry when y'all say we only got 18 if we kill 18 a year in WV we had a good year 🤣🤣🤣
Chef Jean Paul is the best yall got
Some beautiful Ducks this am Jean-Paul 👍💥.
And the next🎉. Your Dog is so calm and methodical 🌞.
Thanks for the Tour!
JO JO IN VT 💞
Cool to see someone I know on MeatEater. Congrats Brad.
Thanks brother
I like that vision of Vicksburg
Great story and video. The Chef is top notch.
Brad is a great guy. Parish is the sweetest pup. He is usually in the shop if he is in there. Looking for a pat on the head. I’m going to pick up my call from him in the next couple of weeks. Cool video.
Thanks brother ❤
Well that looked like the best weekend ever.
Great content would like more of chef cooking
Love this content. I have an 11 month old chocolate lab that I'm excited to hunt this year. Seeing the "shelter" dog out retrieving birds is awesome. Look forward to more content like this
Really enjoyed the series!!
That two man hunt was awesome! Great video Chef
Great video and love to see my hometown highlighted! My mom Kelle owns the bookstore across the street from Brad.
More stuff like this! SO SICK!!!
Great video ! Thanks looking forward to the next season!
Love all of meat eater but this is my favorite series
Great series, Chef! Got me itching for early teal.
As someone who lives in Vicksburg and has drank coffee (his call shop is also a coffee shop) where this man makes his calls it was a treat to run across this. Ducks in the timber are better then any drug. I spent so much of my winter mornings in the sloughs and flooded river bottoms I call home chasing birds. Hard to beat the sound of wings in grey light.
Thank you for the kind words!!
Great vid great series. And what a cool dog
Love to watch this stuff!! Can’t wait for more of this
Great video guys! So much I still haven't seen out there!
Awesome hunt in my Home State!! Calls are sold out will keep checking.
Awesome tour....please do more
Great video. Need more.
Great series!!
Timber tour is a fantastic series, great host and content. I'm only subscribed for this content.
Awesome video. Always wanted to try duck hunting. I bought a flat bottom boat this year so I might set that up and give it a try
Awesome video !
the chef commands,..
tottal respect
Awesome series. Great job on this one. Cameraman deserves some real kudos. This and duck camp dinners have been my favorites so far
Thanks very much! I appreciate you watching, it’s been a fun journey.
Y’all boys gettin me fired up 😅
top quality content, Chef! wish a few more episodes were forth-coming, maybe a little more kitchen work? Family first, though. Well done, No Pun😂🤘
19$ for a full finished duck dog is wild ! Every dog deserves a second chance
Good dog! I’m more interested in the recipe side of things as I don’t currently own a firearm.
Most accurate way to distinguish between mature and immature birds is with "primary" wing feathers.
Hmmmm when are the Waders going to be released???? I need to buy a new pair along with a new jacket.
5:58 duck drops something lol
I'm not saying these shows are not good but i do miss Steve being in some of the weekly videos.
$19 huntin dog! That’s so badass
Bom de mais
What's that corn recipe?
Great vid. 🙂👍 Have a question for ya guys...is it considered unsportsmanlike to fire on some birds that SWIM into the area that you're hunting? Like, for instance, there was four er five that swam in but no shots were taken...at least on camera?🤔 Gotta say tho, as MUCH as I'm enjoying these vidz....I'm REALLY missing "Chef's" preparing and getting to eat these. Just sayin. Peace ✌😎
The teal that landed were just out of range and the coots were as well. Some say it's not kosher to harvest them on the water, I feel like that is the ultimate goal: to call them into the decoys and make the first ones land on the water. They get shot first, then the ones behind them are landing and stalling out trying to change course with downward inertia bearing on them.
"Continue"......... LMAO (I've done to same with my pooch)
Who makes that beautiful bronze and walnut scattergun with the black rib?
Benelli!
How in the WORLD do I get to join in on this Vicksburg Duck Club?
money
Come see us!
No cooking? Is this the entire series?
That’s correct. Timber tour was a limited series of 3 episodes. More Duck Camp Dinners coming down the pipe though with plenty of cooking and longer seasons.
Parish 🥹💛
Well RIP to this series already. 😢
Meateater apparently thinks focusing on big game is better. 🤷♂ Honestly don't understand it, as most hunters would start with small game, hence you would want to show more of it. I mean even their waterfowl line up on first lite is lacking.
Does anyone know what blind bags they are using!?
That is a First Lite product
Ahhh yes…. Timber…
So many things about this video....the 19 dollar pound dog. What a great story and to **** with the previous owner. Of course footage of birds working. And lastly the all to familiar speckle belly mouth call of boredom...😅😅😅
So did meateater just scrap a bunch of duck lore footage? I know cal talked about filming duck lore episodes last fall. I’d bet Sean weaver had a rough departure from meateater since he hasn’t talked about it once
What is that tan shoot gun.
What was everyone's shooting gun wise in the video?
I was shooting a Benelli Ultra Light with the OD green barrel, wood stock
@@ParishWaterfowl Thanks a bunch! Couldn't quite place a finger on the make/model.
HOLLYWOOD!!!
What are the waders your wearing??
First lite waders, will hit the shelves soon I believe
@@danielbagbey before duck season I hope
what is a friend? we all make mistakes.
whos this dude ? where is steve?
Bruh at this point Steve just hosts the main show and podcast they javelin way too many projects for him to be the face of every single one
👍🇧🇷
These guys would love hunting NYS. It's loaded with waterfowl.
Is it easier to hit ‘em when they’re floating rather than flying? Asking for a friend…
😂
I bet they taste the same…
Hello good videos i have hunting videos on youtube
So your plan is to ruin the small town feel? Can’t get behind that.
Not at all? I'm talking about hosting a handful of hunting parties in the downtown area during non travel season. 😅
What’s the road to hell paved with? 😊
@@wouldntyoulike2know883 hipster baristas?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Why is this called a hunt. It's more like an ambush. You don't even stalk the ducks.
Trust me the ducks can somehow sometimes tell something is off it ain't easy as it looks
I hope I don’t come across as a dick, but I am underwhelmed by the calling here. Cadence and pronunciation is lacking for me.
Most of the time, I was calling at other species of ducks. If you'll notice, I successfully put teal, ringnecks, shovelers, gadwalls, etc in the decoys. The one group of mallards, I called like a mallard and put them in the hole also. I'll agree the sound quality didn't come across in the video audio, but the cadences were purposely like they were. And I didn't a good bit of feed calling and single quacking because it was late season and these were stale ducks
