The paint job looks even better in the daylight. Shame you've had so many issues getting it to run right, but I'm sure you'll get it sorted. :)
Well it is a Dodge. 😇
@@davebaker489 i came here to say that lol
@@kit_police where’s your superior paint job? It looks great for an off-road vehicle and he did a great job with the body work. Don’t be that guy
@@kit_police in case you hadn't noticed, time was one thing Rudy didn't have much of.
@@davebaker489 what an ignorant statement. Considering it was the aftermarket EFI system that failed. When the truck was stock they took it out and beat on it and it worked great. Especially for a very old vehicle. Some people like to just say stupid things I guess.
Well I have always wondered why people will rebuild a vehicle for months and never considered pulling the fuel tank to clean it to get rid of old gas and put a new fuel pump in just to make sure , then they wonder why it will not run.
And my dad was a painter and I swear he would jinx his car or truck everytime by painting it 1st before it was mechanically ready to drive.
I have literally had to go get him off the side of the road more times than I can remember because he would be driving a $500 car with a $10,000 paint job on it. And then he had to work on it worrying about the paint job at every turn.
He never learned by his mistake's untill the day he died.
I would have been checking the fuel tank to see if the sugar bandit stuck again... Glad you figured it out.
Close up, I wasn't sure about that paint, but out in the sun, it looks awesome!
same looks great out in the elements!
Thanks , don't feel like you have to explain yourself. You are an incredible fabricator. Do what you do . If someone doesn't get it ,let them figure it out. I enjoy your channel and it's content.
"It's important to me too" Perfect response
Yup that paint in the sun looks incredible man! Great job with the RAD CHARGER, been a great build to watch
Wasn't sure about the paint at first, but it actually looks sick. Nice work!
Very 1990s for sure. Not sure that's a good thing haha. 😁
@@UberLummoxThen YOU paint YOUR ride how YOU see fit. Or is HE not allowed to like a certain paint scheme because YOU said so? 🤡
Possibl groun to fuel pump
I like the roof rack/ light bar. It's functional. Form follows function. The fade turned out good.
Every build needs to be dialed in. There is also never enough time.
Ok. Seeing it all finished that paint job is definitely growing on me.
Cliff HANGER ending! LOL
That ending about the family reunion was too cute!
Def tell it meant alot to go there.
Never give up. Everything is figureoutable. Always keep the lady happy, and life will get better. Good luck, cheers.
figureoutable is my new favorite word lol
Great job building Radcharger. Janelle is a keeper. Her support is more important than the build. Glad you made her family reunion. Good luck at the onx event.
The truck looks so good, who wouldn’t want that sitting on their driveway
Great Job, Rudy and Janelle.. Your tenacity and level of expertise is
Off the Charts... keep up the great job..
Haha - you guys (Matt, Rudy, Paul) never plan for a shakedown 😅 Always off the lift and straight to the event 😊👍🏼
Gotta love that she was willing too help push it!
I've heard a lot of guys complain about the ECU on the fitech EFI's burning out like that. Seems to be a common issue with those units. Probably gets too hot sitting on top of the motor like that instead of being elsewhere like on the Edelbrock proflow series EFI.
Good to know, saw one on marketplace for sale, did contemplate buying it. Now I'm glad I didn't.
FiTech is definitely known for this issue. It's unfortunate because it's affordable.
@@320MN& dadly being affordable anymore didn't mean it's good.
Use to be a huge difference in price when something was told & something subpar.
Now everyone wants top dollar & alot not worth it.
Also, a ton of knock off products (copies that look real but aren't)
@@macattack1392 I get it. I was going to use a FiTech in a build with a 400. After reading all the problems on their FB group with their tech support immediately calling people dumb if they couldn't figure out an issue I decided to LS swap instead.
@@320MN omg. Ya nit cool at all.
I never heard of them til see Rudy have it. So I was curious to see how it went. Same as u did ur research & saved ur skin.
I wanted to know if it was another competitor or basically a knock off/shitter alternative.
Sound like not to smart, if their not fixing the issue.
Janel is a trooper. HOWEVER like the last clip, you left us hanging. 🙂
That's what you call a "cliff hanger" at the end, eh?
The paint makes me think rainbow trout. I like it!
I love how Rudy did most of the building
Hello Rudy, the Rad Charger looks sick. The paint job is amazing and the roof rack looks great i love it you both did an awesome job on it. You both should be proud of the different parts you worked on. Thanks for sharing and have a great day. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
After much reading that is exactly why I didn't choose the FiTech or Sniper for my Ramcharger. Too many issues and failures. I went with the Edelbrock ProFlo 4 and it's been flawless now for two years. I prefer the system's remote mounted ECU, no RFI/EMI issues. The Bluetooth tuning with a phone or a tablet is pretty cool too. Anyway, glad you got it up and running, it's been a ton of work in a short time.
I also had the FiTech on my 360 in my W150 and the ECM failed on it. I also went with the ProFlo4 and I have had her on for over two years with no problems.
That paint job looked like a bruise when I first saw it. But now it is looking really cool. I like the way it changes color as the light changes. Fuel air systems are always a teething problem. I predict that you will have substantially more power to the ground than your competitors.
That RC is looking real good. That's a great paint combo.
Reminds me of the issue Ford had with the "Thin Film Ignition Module." They would fail at high temperature and then run fine after cooling off.
A fuel pump will come and go for a while sometimes. Most common thing that's ever left me stranded.
You put a TON of work in this rig. It's awesome. And the paint really works!
Looking forward to your next video but I am glad you are not filling it in with "filler content" that is being posted on other channels . This has given me inspiration to get my suburban going again.
Ha. The part of you filling it up in the beginning. Your clothes match the paint perfect. Blue jeans maroon shirt. U disappeared into it. Perfect rudy camo
09:40 Love how the gradient on the glasses match the gradient on the RAD Charger!
Hi Rudy. Saw your break down and your recovery on the MORR channel today. I wanted to tell you that the paint job is so cool! I'm a two tone paint kind of guy and I really like the paint job. Just saying . . . . . . .
That paint job tho!!! That Radcharger is absolutely sick bro you done an amazing job on it I’d love it to be setting in my garage! Yes sir!!!! I can’t wait to see you get the kinks worked out of it
Damn that Ramcharger came out looking beautiful 😍👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 great job!
Keep in mind, for future reference: The fuel pump can (be able to) work perfectly fine, but the problem could still be the fuel pump.
I once ran an S10 that behaved like that during the simmer (summer) season. Fuel pump was new. When ambient temps got above 90, the truck would behave like it was vapor locking. Happened in the most inconvenient places, like stoplights, road construction with lane closures and no shoulder ... the Alaska Highway's 12% grade.
When it deteriorated to the point that it was having "fits" when temps were in the low 80's, I ordered in a higher volume pump with a new sending unit. When I pulled the previous pump out, I discovered that the wire terminal had gotten loose at the connection to the pump. Bad connection. Resistance creates heat, heating loosens the connection even more. More resistance, more heat, and the vicious cycle continued until until the pump was unable to keep up with demand. The new pump/sending unit combo took care of the bad wire harness. Removing a load of old gas crap from the tank and getting my fuel gauge to work was bonus. I fought that particular gremlin for 3 summers ... it was a harsh teacher.
Good that someone could enjoy the family reunion. Sounds like one spent a lot of quality time wiring.😉
Quid pro quo…..comes with the territory!!
All the niggles and upsets are part of the journey….and they are turning you both into awesome builders and fabricators. Your calm demeanour belies the “brick in your guts “ as the vehicle failed far away from home. But you called it and fixed it 👍🏻😁
Victory and victory again. 👍🏻
Cool paint job!
the Rad Charger looks f'ing cool guys!! Glad you all made it to your family party, that is important for sure. Very good!
I was initially dubious about the color when you first got done spraying it, but the black on the bottom and top really offsets it and now I think it pops. She looks seriously badass, I hope she runs great for you and you win!
I’ve never seen a window roll down that fast
Really never wanted a Ram Charger before this. Looks so good. You two did great.
Reminds me of a '76 ford pick up I had. I ended up carrying a pail of water to pour over it when it got hot, until I could replace it. That's when I learned to despise computer controlled anything related to vehicles.
So many parts, so little time…. Testing time is never enough. I’m realizing that with the right skills and experiences, one can take about any vehicle body and frame, put “Jeep” suspension under it and make a road worthy off road vehicle. RadCharger looks great and has lots of potential! My first off reading was in a stock late 70’s Ramcharger with a 360 V8. It was a Breast but did well with my shenanigans.
Holey smokes. That is the fastest I’ve ever seen a window go down.
its more likely to b interferance causeing the efi to go wrong , if so u need to either ensure the wireing is seperated far enough or shield it all really well
Man. That thing came out “Rad” Rudy. 🤷♂️🕺
I think it looks pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good, baby Rojo Beard.
The rack looks like ya stole it off somebodies cabin cruiser at the lake....I love it!!! The whole build is off the charts! Great job!
3:46 That’s one hell of a power window motor.
LOOK AROUND RUDY , the hills have eyes !
Outfit on point 100% matching the RAM !!! LOL
Well yeah. If it can go wrong, it will go wrong when you need it most.
Thanks for leaving us on a cliff hanger
My friend…that’s a pretty truck, old school paint with an old school truck, pretty friggin cool.
$4.00 a gallon? That’s $1.00 a litre in Canada. You’re getting a deal. It’s $1.70 a litre here.
It’s a good thing you know someone with a tow recovery company 😂
Had a '88 TBI 318 Ramcharger and a '99 MPFI 318 Magnum Durango... BOTH of them acted crazy: stalling, spitting, sputtering, etc. for a week after any time I disconnected the batteries until the ECUs recalibrated everything. Dodge had crappy ECUs.
Quite an improvement over the 1/2 dun paint job. Looks awesome.
What an awesome build.. I don't think I've ever seen a cooler ram charger... you both should be proud of what you've accomplished...what a great team
The build turned out looking really good. I hope you were able to get the bugs worked out of the vehicle. I still love the paint decision.
I'm pretty sure the sugar bandits attacked it at the place he bought it from..
@@paulrivers7248 I was referring to the mechanical kind, but hope he got the biological kind out too😜
@@dianeenlow123 I was actually responding to another message but I guess I hit your comment lol my bad
I wasn't sure how I felt about that paint job in the previous episode, but in the sun, it is DOPE ! ! ! It's both flashy and subdued simultaneously. I love it. Great job!
I like how the Rad Charger still has a low profile look about it.
Glad you were able to get what you needed done AND make to the family reunion!! Family is important!!
It looks like the ECU is mounted in the hottest possible location. Electronics don't like heat. See if you can move it to a cooler spot. Love the paint.
Really like the paint colors you both came up with for RAD Charger
On the bright side of things you have FREE recovery and towing in Utah for life*-)
Loved seeing old MORR clips Sunday with short-haired Rudy!
The little things can drive you nut, but you did well and the Ram will be awesome.
If that was your dad you talked to for the tow he never seems to happy to help l would be very proud of you and more than happy to help look what you have accomplished go for it great job
I think you are projecting quite a bit. None of that comes across when you meet them in person. Sometimes you get a call and no matter who it’s from it’s an interruption.
bonding to family is great
It's like an obstacle course backing out of your shop. LoL.
Great video!!! The Dodge looks great. I'm definitely an old school Mopar guy. 68 Plymouth GTX 440 4V.
I feel your pain. I hate those kinds of problems. Smart to bring the carb with you.
That rad charger took a whooping from bleepinjeep it Smackdown that big fat chunk up and down the trail.
Might want to double check all of your ground connections for efi. GL
I don't know if I'm the millionth person to say it, but did you check to see if the high temps caused vapor lock? Loving the build and all the work! Can't wait to see it in it's element!
Janelle is the definition of Ride or Die. 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
We all need a ride or die in our life.
Fitech unfortunately is known for the issues. I've been through a few of these rfi conversions and the Holley Sniper has been the most reliable.
I absolutely love the color ,, it’s kind of unique ,, something you don’t see everyday ,,, the fade to blue is excellent in the sun ,,, good job all the way around ,,,
Absolutely loving the build you guys! And the channel. Party on!!
Talk about a cliffhanger ending! lol
Theme song; on the roll back again, just cant wain to be on the roll back again... Love your content
Gonna say, both the roof rack and the gradient in the paint came out great for what you're up against man, The roof rack did always seem a bit odd, but with lights in, on an old rig like that; it just becomes super period correct to my eye.
You're doing great, can't wait until it actually wheels consistently, it's gonna be a cool as hell rig, already is.
Talk about a cliffhanger ending😂 that's gotta be "golden crack" it's usually trail mater undercarriage I'm checking out from that angle😂
Glad everything worked out for yall!
The paint job at first seemed corny to me, but after you added the black bars and you drove it out int he sun, I actually really like it now
One time. Driving from Ell lay to Green River, Utah. I stopped exactly where you are. I had to pee really bad. I was self conscious of whoever may be in that house and had to see it all.
Wasn't sure about the paint...like it now ❤
I really want to like the paint colors… it’s hard tho 😂
The quality looks great though and that rad charger logo is super fire
Good job on keeping a cool head. I'm glad problems happened close to home.
Thanks for sharing the struggles and the joys. Perseverance pays. You have the power to pull through. Looking forward to seeing you shine in Moab.
To Wyoming??? 600/700 + miles... ONE WAY??? On a unproven rig??? Are you kidding me??? You ARE your father's son!!! LOL
Ain't a Dodge fan, but damn... that's a good looking rig. Nicely done.
Hey Rudy, Truth be told, I completely upset when you painted over that factory paint. Damn brother that thing is looking sharp. I'm proud of ya. great job...
I agree with a lot of the comments that the paint looks pretty darn cool !! Robbie Who
Glad you worked out what went wrong but also glad you packed the carb just in case. That was a bit of a sudden end there, literally a cliff hanger lol.
❤Nearly 1/4 million subs RAD 👍😎✊
Most modern electronic devices including some ECU's don't like being next to a hot device such as a engine in a hot engine bay on a hot day in a hot state.
