In this video, we’re taking you on a motorbike road trip across Sumatra, Indonesia.
We’ll be stopping at the equator, visiting a beautiful waterfall, and of course dealing with some crazy Indonesian drivers on the road.
We’ll be making the 500 km drive from Payakumbuh in West Sumatra, all the way to Lake Toba.
So join us on this chapter of our journey, as we drive our motorbikes from Jakarta to Sabang, across the 6th largest island in the world Sumatra, Indonesia.

Nice to know that you make your way to North Sumatra to see how different the province is from West Sumatra. Batak people are patrilineal and very patriarchal, the opposite of the Minangkabau who are matrilineal where women rule the roost. Add that to the mostly Christian Batak and the devout Muslim Minangkabau. If you going north, you’ll enter Aceh province where the only province in Indonesia that maintain Sharia law.

Di sumatra utara ada kota pandan yang lebih familiar di kenal orang dengan nama tapanuli tengah memiliki keindahan laut yang luar biasa salah satunya air terjun mursala yang mana air terjun langsung mengalir ke laut dan banyak lagi pulau² yang indah,,
Cuma sekitar kurang lebih 3 jam dri kota padang sidimpuan,, kirain bakalan lewat dri daerah itu,,
Tapi good sih,, danau toba juga gak kalah indahnya.👍😉
