Thanks so much. Just finished the job on an 18 pilot. Your special too was great. I would’ve been in trouble. Used a Lucas trans stop slip top and a long rubber hose so could get oil container a bit upside down.

What came out was so clean that I wonder if that was even necessary? Obviously, if Honda says it's time, it's time. These are beautifully engineered cars and they aren't cheap ...so, just do it. ..and it's fun too! You make good videos Eddie. Thank you.
I was most surprised to learn how brown (burnt), my 2019 Pilot's transmission fluid was at just 29,000 miles. You have inspired me to research trans oil coolers for it (and transmission oil temperature gauges). The Honda at $500+ is just too expensive. Hayden, and others, make great coolers for way less. What say you Eddie? I refuse to tow anything with my Pilot. I believe towing will lead to an early transmission death. But that's just me.
    R, Steve

I’m surprised to hear about your trans fluid color at that mileage point! Not to brag but when I did the trans fluid on mine at 28k it was still very clean, so clean I actually questioned if it should have been done. I have had the trans cooler on most of the time I had the vehicle and did some light trailering. I would say if you need to tow then do but make sure to treat your trans to extra flushes in hopes of keeping your Pilot tip top!

    Excellent demonstration video

I picked the hottest day of the year to do this, but I'm about to tow a 4K pound trailer 2K miles and I didn't even know it had a transfer case!

Hi, where did you get the bottle nipple for the heat oil?

If you use the manufacturer torque spec, those “crush” washers last indefinitely. Sounds like you’re over torquing them. Unfortunately I don’t have access to Alldata/mitchel anymore. I’ve been using the same one on my civic for about 14 years.

Honda recommends it. And in general anything “crush” is not meant to be reused. That doesn’t mean ever but it’s cheap insurance against leaks.

Do you need to have the vehicle level? I would think so.

2016-22 pilots use a different trans and drive train.
