    I’m finally getting around to making these this weekend, and I’m going to make two batches...one with my standard recipe and then with a modified BB recipe. I had talked to several other soapers who found the BB recipe to be too drying and didn’t lather well. So I’m going to drop the Palm Oil and Coconut Oils down 5% and add 5% to the Mango Butter and 5% Castor Oil. Ad I’m going to mix some TD with White Mica for a more Powdered Sugar vibe with some sparkle.

      That sounds about right. So many shared recipes are just not good. But they share them anyway. Haha! I can't remember what tweaks I made to this recipe but we've been using those bars up in the last few weeks. The recipe I made is fantastic! It's too high end with the jojoba but it's been so nice. It has loads of lather and is not drying to us at all. My skin is so dry right now too with the dry winter air. I will try to remember to see if I can dig up the recipe to see what tweaks I made.

    What is false trace and how do you spot it?

    • @moriversoap
      @moriversoap  Před 4 lety

      False trace is when it seems the soap has traced and it's time to pour but it's really not emulsified enough. It can then break back down. For me, it will look smooth and thick, and then start breaking down into grains almost sort of like the look of curdling milk in a hot liquid. Usually, it means I am soaping so cool that the hard oils started solidifying and binding with the lye solution but it's just really not 'there' if you know what I mean. :-) I usually like to observe my batter to make sure it holds.

    I’m sorry I know it’s nitpicky but it’s not titanium duh-oxide it’s titanium die-oxide.

      Of all the things going on in this world, you choose to leave a comment about the way someone pronounces something. I know we wre all bored but there's gotta be something better to focus your time on.

      I do say dioxide as you state. LOL Sometimes I speak fast, have a little accent, or the microphone doesn't pick it up the same. But I agree...that was really nitpicky and not really necessary considering we're in the midst of a global crisis. I'm happy that the way I said dioxide though was your biggest concern of the day.
