- In this video, I will be making another all natural soap, this time using Rose Clay, Kaolin Clay, and a variety of botanicals and salts! This is my favorite soap this month and it has a stamp!

Ryland Chapman that is so incredibly sweet. I tried to get my youngest (13 and emotionally delayed) into watching the Royal family because I think they’d love it. GRIM is all about art and crafts and science, and they love watching “how it’s made” type YT channels. They watched one episode with me, gave me a very “I’ve humored you, now can I pick a video?” reaction of “ohh yeah that was cool, you’re right.” LOL
AND THEN.
A couple weeks back, they found my two soaps that got ordered but haven’t left the shipping boxes. I said to go ahead and peel back the plastic a little to sniff.
Silence.
“…can I claim this one?”

I told them those were made by the soap lady of CZcams and her brother and suddenly it became imperative that they get to pick out a soap (because no, the answer is no, no one can claim my two. MINE. lol) from the site and see how their soap was made while sniffing it.

I absolutely love this soap. That pink reminds me more of an antique rose. Actually the whole thing reminds me of an older home full of antiques. When you google antique rose lamp the colors of those lamps are the vibes I'm getting. Up until the end I wasn't sure how I'd like the soap but the end product is stunning.

I know there's one sort of clay that is a light seafoam colour or maybe more of a muted Jade colour and I would really like to see a soap made with that clay

Bentonite clay too, If you are starting out making soap, This can speed up trace REALLY. FAST. So be careful. Both French clay and bentonite clay have a lot of great skin loving qualities.

Goats milk, oat and honey is one of my favorite. With a little sweet almond oil too. I have overly sensitive skin. if i get pizza grease around my mouth, I WILL GET A PIMPLE. so i totally get it. glad you found somthing that works well for you.

I crave soaps with any of the following: goat milk, colloidal oatmeal, honey, lavender, vitamin e, and sweet almond oil! I have eczema, and I only use natural handmade soaps since they don’t make my skin break out. Many commercial soaps have all these additives, preservatives, and strong fragrances that make my skin get inflamed. I also love going to my local farmers market and buying handmade soap. However, I adore your soaps and will gladly buy a soap that works with my problematic skin.

Love these kinds of soap. As I age, I like things that make my skin look better and don't make me look like a shriveled up prune. I purchased some soap from a site and it was glycerin and I and my hubby weren't sure why our elbows were drying out. You mentioned that glycerin is very drying and you weren't kidding! I like things in my soap because I was gifted a soap with some kind of flower on the inside and it adds a nice texture when I use it. I like it a lot
I really like different textures inside, too! I like flowers, coffee grounds, walnut shells, chopped herbs, just about anything that makes the soap exfoliating and fun!

I know the video is old, but seeing this specifically today really made my day! I just told my bf I'd love to try my hand at making soaps too when I can, but that's just when he told me that some soaps irritate his skin, and somehow seeing this all-natural soap after that convo just really really made me happy ^^
The good thing about making your own soap is that you can customize it to be exactly what the user needs!

I was so excited to see you do a natural soap that I actually squealed out loud and slapped my husband. Just for information sake he is a mechanic (so am I) but he only cares that soap cleans his body and he tolerates my constant soap video obsession. 5:30 it looked like mayo and ketchup (we call that cocktail sauce) while pouring it in. But not anymore after saponification.
Essential oil blend sounds gorgeous.
My cocktail sauce is ketchup with lemon juice, garlic, maybe a couple other things but no mayo.
Cocktail sauce is ketchup and horseradish. Nothing else. Any other recipe and it's just a ketchup based sauce.

Just received this soap yesterday! First, let me say how much I appreciate the shrink wrap. I arrived home to find my box had been sitting out in the pouring rain all day, and it literally dripped when I picked it up. I feared I would open up a box of suds, but no. Depsite the soaking, all of the soaps were dry! Now on to this amazing Rose Clay soap. The smell is the most calming earthy rose fragrance. It lathers up creamy and silky. An unplanned night at the spa! Thanks for your amazing videos and your fabulous energy and attitude!

I was laughing when you asked the question of the day, because I was just thinking that, although beautiful, I hate botanical bits on top of soap, because that means stuff I have to pick off to use it, so it doesn't dirty up my sink and clog my shower. I love this soap but I get a bit frustrated with soap that leaves bits in my sink to clean out and bits I don't want going down my drain. My plumbing has an attitude problem. Edens secret was giving you props yesterday. Pretty cool with all her soap and CZcams experience.

Katy I would like to see tutorials on natural colorants. I am highly allergic to soap but your channel satisfies this heartbreaking mandatory soapless life of mine. I do use dishsoap but I have to take my allergy meds first and then rinse my hands and use my steroid nasal spray. For the laundry I use a free and clear and then I have to wash everything a second time to get as much of the soap out as possible. Anyway, my eyes sparkle when I watch your videos. Are you sure it's not a particular ingredient inside the Soap that you are allergic to? Homemade Soaps are very different from the Man-Made Detergents that are sold (which contain Surfactants that can be Skin Irritants for many people).
I'm not saying that it's not possible that you are allergic. But do you know what it is specifically that you are allergic to inside the Soap?
You should do a His Dark Materials inspired soap, the show the did inspired by the first book on HBO was amazing.

Geology major here 🤚🏻 mica is a "group name" for a variety of naturally occurring minerals. They are not artificial and are just as naturals as your clays, etc :)
EDIT: the micas used in personal care items and cosmetic items may be produced under artificial conditions. I'm not sure how this would make them harmful, as lab conditions mimic natural conditions, but I'm not educated on lab mineral production

I think that the colorants put into the micas are "unnatural" though.

Mikey Anderson I've often wondered if lab created minerals are considered natural! The color ingredients in my "cosmetic" micas are things like iron oxide and manganese (that I think are natural?), and sometimes ultramarines (which I think are artificial?)...am I even close to on the right track?? 🤷♀️

Hi there! I'm a skin focused cosmetologist and I absolutely adore your videos and I love that you asked questions! This of course is my personal opinion (I'm not an esthetician or a dermatologist) but when it comes to natural skin care I have found that when soaps have concentrated botanicals inside them they tend to be gentler on more sensitive skin! I'm super sensitive and I always wish I could use more natural soaps. This one looks amazing and I could definitely use the main bar but I would cut the botanicals off. Not that I would be upset! It would look beautiful on the shelf as decor! I hope that's helpful! Your videos are so fun, you look like you're having the best time. ❤
I love things like clays, calendula, finely ground walnut hull, coconut cream, milks and herbal infusions in my soap! Too much floral on the top will clog my drain. Especially with 2 very long haired kids in my house! I can’t wait for the honeysuckle bush down the street to come into bloom so I can make a 100 acre woods inspired soap.
I have this soap because I loved the video (I also have the lemon verbena soap and a diamond soap) and smelling it in person brought back so many memories as a kid! We have a festival once a year in my home town and there is a often a natural soap booth that has a soap that smells so much like this one! It was my favorite as a kid and I was very surprised to be smelling it nearly 10 years later! I love all you do and hope this sent makes another guest appearance!

I wasn't sure about this soap til you started cutting it. It turned out gorgeous and soft looks like something I'd want to display in my shower.
I really enjoy all of your videos and think all your soaps are beautiful but this one is my all time favorite. Partly because of it being all natural ingredients and partly because it’s pink. It’s just so pretty!
