Time Crisis II playthrough (PS2) (1CC)

- Playthrough of story mode on normal difficulty... which you'll just have to take my word for as I didn't include the intro or option menu viewings as I usually do. Look, this was my first ever playthrough I put on CZcams, I didn't know what I was doing!
Time Crisis II was released in arcades in 1997. The PS2 port was released in 2001. Namco had apparently considered porting the game to the PS1, but scrapped that idea as the machine couldn't do it justice. The PS2 port features several new game modes and features, such as a mission mode and co-op play options (achieved via split-screen or linking two consoles together). It also has more detailed graphics, but I wish there was an option to turn on the arcade game's graphics -the colors in the arcade version just seem to be more vibrant.
Anyway, the actual game. TCII is much easier than the first one. First of all, you now get four life points per credit instead of three, so you've got an extra hit to take. Second, you can now always tell if en enemy bullet will hit you or not thanks to said bullets being large red projectiles. Thirdly, every time you move in the game, the timer will start at max, which didn't happen in the original. Whilst it's unlikely you'd ever run out of time in this game, if you do, you only lose a life point. In the original, if you ran out of time, you got a game over! - Hry
Brings me back to the good ol' days when I regularly visited the arcade place with shitty pizza.
I doubt Chuck E Cheese would host Time Crisis considering it is rated T and the whole deal in the 90s about gun control and "realistic video games".
Probably skirted that under the rug with "cartoon violence" :P. I seem to recall some kids playing a Jurassic park shooter too, although I don't remember if that was Chuck E Cheese or somewhere else. Not sure if they have it anymore either.
No pizza is shitty lol
Me too lol
Little did he realise he commented this when he was in the good ol' days :(
I remember playing this on the arcades back in the day with friends and relatives. Didn't realize how bad the voice acting was back then tho 😂😂
Kyle Rollins better than The House of the Dead 2's voice acting that's for sure.
Speaking of terrible dubbing, that pimp entrance though .
DantesonofSparda85 so true
Can relate harddddd
Its worse in the arcades too.
I remember when I first bought this on PS2 when it came out!
"Damn these graphics are waaaaaay better than the arcade version!"
"Oh wow.. There's fruit coming out of the barrels when you shoot them now".
Yeah, I'm STILL amazed by the graphics, because it is such an improvement from the arcade version! 😄
PS2 has better graphics and gameplay than the arcade. Arcades version looks too cartoony. PS2 version is superior in every way.
@@Asiddersfor a 23 year old shooting game like TIME CRISIS II, easily 10/10. Ren Hazuki even spent 33 hours playing this game both on 1997 Arcade original and 2001 PS2 port.😅
Watching this just reminds me of how many quarters I sacrificed to the arcade gods back in the day.
It was £1 for 3 lives in my day. Quite expensive even for today’s standards!
@@Make_Boxing_Great_Again 598
@@Make_Boxing_Great_Again Same. The amount of pocket money I spent on this game... XD
They were quite pleased with your sacrifice
@@danielfennesseyi ever beaten TIME CRISIS II on PS2 just about the credits run out on the 4th and last credit.
I remember back in the day playing this with my dad in the arcades and when he gave his tokens (that is what we call our game credits in my country) to me to beat this game. And after beating wild dog and stage 3-2, finally got to the final stage. Knowing that this is gonna be hard, I prepared my last 3 tokens and actually used all 3 because I struggled but I still managed to beat him. Then playing this again and beating this game all by myself...
The nostalgia hits me hard.
Worst personal army in the history of mankind...
they are not that bad actually, i couldn't even beat the game when i played it with the gamepad, you have Bern nearly forced to buy a ps2 pistol to play this game
Big Brody As inconvenient as that sounds I couldn't imagine playing these games any other way. The only light gun games Ive ever beat without accessories is Virtua Cop 1 and 2 and House of the Dead 2 but they're a lot more forgiving than Time Crisis.
They arent that bad considering theyre up against two dudes with infinite ammo and can practically see the bullets that fly towards them and be able to dodge them, also being able to wreck APCs with submachine guns
I'm just wondering how the second lifted a fucking missile.
Troy Sims he also changes accents 3 times
The guy in the hat at the beginning sounds like he's trying to convince me to buy real estate
Or something like obamacare
YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW PERFECT OUR PLAN IS. You can even keep your doctor! :D
tbh I think he's the kind of Real estate agent to burst into your room when you buy something other than his company with his henchmen pointing guns at you.
@@bigiron4387 lol that made me laugh pretty good

No, he sounds like he would have gotten away with it if it weren’t for those meddling kids
favorite game from the arcade
Best. Time Crisis. Ever.
nah i would say Time Crisis 3 lol
I agree with you. Hehe
Nah time crisis 4
If you're talking about co-ops,
I'd say 2 & 3 are the best in the series.
However if you were to select one,
3 is best out of all of them.
@mac jeffy still have my T3 GunCon bundle I got at GameStop brand new (....back when games were $50 ).... ahhh 2004 vibes
Those sounds. “Beep beep, click, ACTION!” will forever be engrained in my mind.
Time Crisis 1 also have "Beep Beep, CLICK, ACTION!".
I was 7 when I played this... the nostalgia
I am 23 now and after 15 years i just remembered this game, like wtf brain. Good memories tho. :)
I was 5
I watched this video a lot back in 6th grade and the rest of the series 4 years ago. I’m glad I played this in a arcade 2 years ago.
Me too
the precious memories with my PS2 and Time Crisis II... 😔😫😖
Dogs of the AMS...time they made a move!
Oh wait, wrong game.
James Dearden damn, the house of the dead 2...gotcha
LOL HAHAHAH DOG OF THE AMS SAID BY GOLDMAN
Hahaha is how you quote this series
lol my friend said that the other day.. we played the shit out of HOTD2
LMAO
The main thing I remember about this game is when you press start and the guys like “TIME CRISIS.. TWOOOO” it was the sickest thing for no reason lol
I remember playing TIME CRISIS II on a Timezone before. Man, such a legendary childhood times.😢
This brings back so many memories
100,000 views, thanks to everyone who's watched this! And after months of practice, there will be more TC playthroughs on the way, hopefully starting in January!
+Rage Quitter 87 will you do a raising storm walk through
+megadeath308 Yes, should be up in a couple of weeks
dude great gameplay your more better then I am i don't got 2 but I just 1 today with the gun but maybe I will by this game thanks for showing me this gameplay
time crisis 2 is the best one made
Rage Quitter 87 rgdbtyhegowen
20:14 Wild Dog: "I'll be back...in...Time Crisis...3..."
“…And 4.
And 5.
And perhaps one day, a VR sequel.”
@@Man_Jr._Studios EXACTLY 💯
Wild Dog is a True badass of this series. Outshines every protagonist.
Watching the play through bring me back memories of my childhood
I use to play this game all the time
Back when Robert is a good person
I used to play the arcade version of this like 15 years ago. I still remember it so well :)
Looking back at this makes me sad that the player 2 character Robert Baxter becomes Time Crisis 5's final boss...
it feels strange to play as him now
!!!!!ㆍ
@@user-zb4yj3cj2d SPOILERS!!!
Time Crisis 5 storyline sucks. They turned Robert Baxter into a VSSE traitor and an antagonist.
It's very impressive they can do this much graphics and action, even for rail shooter, in 1997.
I love games like this that feel like an arcade experience you can have right at home :) gotta get this game sometime.
WARNING: This Comment contains spoilers (particularly for those who have not played the game yet). Keith and Robert appear in TIME CRISIS 5 as NPC (Non Playable Character) supporters. However, Robert is the main villain of the game although you will play against Keith at the end of the fourth stage. Interestingly, the game has a HOUSE OF THE DEAD flavor is you go against Zombies (or is it zombie-like)which tends to charge at the player in stage 5 of the game. Like zombies in most video games (like RESIDENT EVIL), you can quickly kill them by shooting the heads. Another feature of the game is that it has two pedals (as opposed to one in previous games) which allows the player to move to other views, which is great for dodging those red sharp shooters. I played the game recently costing a couple of credits, but I managed to get through, vanquishing the traitor at the end of the game. I recommend playing the game for more details and the get the hang of it.
I never realised how camp the first boss was until now!
I can’t get enough of Sega’s House of The Dead series and Namco’s Time Crisis series.
This made me realise how little i managed to progress through this back in the day xX
"Oh, I destroyed a semi truck, an APC, a gatling-gun mounted motorboat, a train, several helicopters, a nuclear powered satellite and the rocket to lift it, killed a guy swinging a cruise missile around, a guy with a gatling gun for an arm who can survive blowing himself up, and a card-carrying villain wielding a rocket launcher. Soooo...how was your day at work?"
Freaking VSSE, more improbable than Nick Mason. Unless you're Crisis Zone, then you just steal Nick Mason's invincible riot shield.
Is that an Urban Chaos reference?
It's from crisis zone i think
Or maybe alpha one's riot shield..
after all these years I still remember where all the red guys pop up
This game was one the first videogames I ever played, I was about six or so when I finished it through sheer dumb luck and a lot of wasted tokens. Really this is a great nostalgia trip.
But after palying Time Crisis 5...there's this *SADNESS* that goes with the nostalgia now. Despite how cheesy the dialogue is you really get to dig Keith and Robert as good friends and partners, seeing it all fall in 5 was pretty tragic.
BroPool41 yep
Short game but every single second is pure quality second. The pacing of this game is so good, and the design of Keith and Robert was badass!
I’m glad they came back in 5
awesome, brings back many memories from playing in the arcades with my brother and memories when we got it for ps2!!
Had so much fun playing this co-op with friends. I had gotten time crisis 1 with the guncon for the PS1 and it worked with this game on the PS2. So when I eventually got this game with the guncon 2 bundle I was able to play co-op and each of us have a light gun. NAMCO was just great that generation. Came out the gate swinging with Ridge Racer V right at the launch of PS2.
Time Crisis 2 is the best, I remember play it with my friends all day on arcade
This will always be my favorite Time Crisis game ever. From the setting, the characters, and the music. The boat chase stage is my favorite part of any Time Crisis game as seeing that as a kid made me go, "Woah! This is cool!"
It's a shame what Robert became in TC5 tho. :(
i cant belive he just became a bad guy :(
Typical. I played as Robert in the arcades all the time. What a liberty!!!
Child Me: Aww I can't beat the 1st stage :(
Adult Me: I won but at what cost...
Man this game was a childhood moment
26 now and the nostalgia is fkn for real remember playing this on my PS2 aswell as the arcades god pls take me back how innocent I was back then
The stage clear victory screen music never gets old
After knowing what happened in TC5 now i only wanna play as Keith
Who else instinctively flinched when they saw the red damage bullets coming at the screen?
This game, man! Had fun playing it back in the arcades and on the PS2......and it's still great now! Blasted nostalgia flashback!
miss the arcade, use to play it all the time
Such an improvement from Time Crisis 1. Two players makes it fun to play with friends. Dynamic camera angling adds to pacing, and Stage 3 does a good job of this making the camera turn in different directions constantly. Even blowing things up is fun to watch, just look at 2:06. Voice acting still cheesy, and script just as shitty, but at least they somewhat improved on the enemies. Back in TC1 there was a mixture of "HALT! THERE HE IS! FIRE!" TC2 has "GO GO GO!"--can't seem to hear anything else unfortunately, maybe sound was just too loud. Adding body armor to enemies didn't really make them harder, but it did make you conscious about the time (the later installments, however, make this a pain in the ass sometimes). The soundtrack was lovely, especially a remix from TC1's track and Wild Dog's theme.
And then your friend betrays you (if you know what I mean).
I love this game so much. So many fun memories...

Just to let you know brother, I'll be rewatching your videos because I love the arcade games bro. Keep it up bro. 😊
This game brings back so many memories
I've beat the arcade version multiple times, excellent game! I want a PlayStation 2 and have this game for it with Guncon 2, that would be fun.
i remember going to an arcade as a child, and always playing this one. I've only successfully finished the game like what.. 3 times?
i'd love to play it again someday
That stage 1 music is legendary.
Old school arcade party with my bros loud music arcade boomboxes and dancing brings back the good old days.
Those who make the cod games probably should make a rail shooter like this. feels more action movie like, immersive and artistic somehow.
I remember a long time ago when every Weekend, I went to the mall with my family just to play this game with French Fries and drinks. I got so good at this game I could beat it on the arcade in less than 7 tokens.
One of my most beloved games of my childhood. Using my Gun on this game was fucking insane!
2:53
lmao that orange soldier on the right is doing the injured leg animation during a serious fight lol
When the Stage 2 boss says, "It's time for you to say goodbye!", it sounds like like I'm hearing Jim Cummings.
I played this so much in the arcade near my town that eventually I could complete the whole thing on one coin XD
My nostalgia back in the day
One of the greatest arcade games of all time!
i like this remade time crisis 2 ahhh the memories
8:12
Heavy: That's fool Spy how dare you fail hurry up!
Man I was 8 when I played this in the arcades one of the best ones of all time
This was in every arcade at the beach, it was do good. I tried my hand at it, but lost at the first couple screens. But it was still so good
Holy crap I remember seeing this and, looking back, it was like going from early ps1 graphics to Xbox 360. This game dominated arcades
One of my second best arcade game to play in my opinion.
The Virgin Soldier for Hire vs THE CHAD AGENT
ちっちゃい時やったなあ〜懐かしい未だにボス2の曲頭にたまに流れる
If you don't know that woman who stole the laptop will death killed by our Protagonist Blue
In time crisis 5 :'
And frame Protagonist in Red, Keith.
I remember completing this as a kid in the arcade, whilst on a holiday in France. I spent 10 euros of my holiday money because I never had the chance to continue after I ran out of health before.
Those were the days.
Completed this game every day when I was a kid. Remembered every npc move. Could probably beat it with my eyes closed.
Exploding spotlights in the intro, nice
I hope they remaster this on PS4 just make it HD
Spikey1990Mikey Lightgun shooters are no fun without a lightgun. But I hope that with Morpheus+Move or Vive, we will see some rail-shooter action again with custom gun controllers.
Wireless Gun-con would be awesome.
Never ... U must buy a backward ps3 as beautiful cecha01
we had this on ps1, even the gun... It always brings me back to the scene of mart mclfy on bttf.
Ahjh back when ps2 was the main console, tekken tag, 007 agent under fire, timesplitters 2, time crisis 2. :,) Good ole days
Your favorite VSSE agent becomes main villain in TC5
Ain’t it awesome
That was just a shame
5:11 _Machine gun_ *ACTION*
Always the most memorising lines from this game for me lol
The nostalgia ❤️
It sad Robert Baxter turned to villain and Keith Martin lost his eye
Strange why Robert Baxter in TIME CRISIS II turned into the final boss character in TIME CRISIS V.
Great playthrough
20:22 As you can see that , Wild Dog's head got a huge scar after being shot down by Richard in Project Titan ... All I have to say , Richard is the only one who can kill Wild Dog . Because he is the one who broke Wild Dog's arm and give him a huge scar...
i went to an arcade today and they had a machine with this game. man i spent way too much money just to grind through the first stage
love the callbacks to the first one.
I love the main villain of this Time Crisis game, General Diaz, better than the main of the previous, Time Crisis, game. With having Wild Dog working along his sider, and how he has an inorganic arm that's a weapon.
At that time...i remember saying the graphics were high class and interactive....now looking back, we came a long way and fast.
Used to play this with my Dad back then at that one Cici's Pizza place. Good times...
7:10 To think that many troops can just pop out on a tiny boat like that, didn't bother to notice back then how ridiculous it was. Ah memories lol
Ahh Time Crisis 2, the only arcade game I've ever beaten all the way through on a single credit. All thanks to this PS2 version, as I think it was the only way to unlock mirror mode, and I reeeeally wanted mirror mode haha. I memorised, every single red guy etc that popped out, when they popped out etc. That was a fun time.
Ahh. I remember playing the Arcade version,My leg was shaking in existment,I was rather good in accuracy. Man,what an awesome game series.
(Happy 19th anniversary Time Crisis 2! ❤ by all!)
nostalgia level over 9000!!!
oh god the nostalgia i remeber playing this at the movies
I've still got this and Time Crisis, along with my Gun Con.
RIP Christy Ryan. Curse you, Robert Baxter!
Still have my copy of this game for PS2 somewhere with the GunCon 2. Good times playing in Double Gun Mode with the unlimited and shotgun bullets cheats 😊👍
This is my favorite game in the Time Crisis series! This game was so fun to play! I loved shooting the bad guys in the game! I am a little curious about something though. I wonder what kind of car that is they’re driving at the start of stage 2. If anyone has any ideas on what kind of car that is, please reply and let me know. Still, great post dude, you have my respect! ✊👊
Looks like a 94 lotus esprit with gigantic rear louvres
Cheese Block: That is possible
9:49
Partner after being shoot by a RPG in the face be like: Ouchie
Back in da day when u went the arcades just to have a real blast, cuz there weren’t a single iPhone in site lol 😂
I still can't believe Robert (guy in blue jacket) is the bad guy in Time Crisis 5
Wait, REALLY? I've never played Time Crisis 5. That's a surprise.
Its Make Me Nostalgia I was Born At 2009 I Played This When 3-6 Years I Remember The Backsound Damn
This was my game, scary how much i remember :D
