VISITING THE 5 UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE GATES IN HARAR | ETHIOPIA VLOG |

- I did a tour of the walls of Harar and visited the 5 gates that were originally built to protect the people of the city and to stop non-Muslims from entering the city. I've never walked around the wall like this before - it felt so surreal being on the outside of the wall and imaging what it would have been like in the historic times. I also visited the Sherif Museum to learn more about Harar and the Harari culture.
As soon as I realised that EID would fall during the summer, I knew that I just HAD to visit Harar during that time. When I visited in 2012, I celebrated Eid ul Fitr in Harar and it was (and still is) one of the best experiences of my life. I just HAD to return. So, I did. And it did not disappoint. I love the community feel of praying all together, and the family orientated day.

I love how Ethiopia has really kept its culture intact,i think that's one of the advantages of being a closed off society for such a long time. The fact that the culture is not only so rich but still so present mashallah! Its quite unlike Kenya where there's lots of outside influences but anyway looove ur content!!!
Thank you, and yes, exactly. For a long time, only Harari's (and few others) were allowed in Harar and this really helped to preserve its culture.
A Salam walakcum my sister in Allah, my husband is Ethiopian and I know it’s different traditions for different clans but I get so excited when I see other people’s way of doing things according to their cultures, I really enjoy watching your videos, through your channel I have learned so much it makes me want to become a better Muslim each day, I am a revert and I am on the path of learning, may Allah bless and reward you for all your efforts , I pray to have a friend like you one day insha Allah.
