Fish tank brace repair

The brace on my 55 gallon tank snapped, this was my solution and it works great! 1 1/2 aluminum angle, 1/16 thickness and a 1/2 cross bar, 1/8 thickness. I had to use an angle grinder to clear some plastic off the hood to make sure I had clearance for the cross bar. I used 1/8 aluminum rivets, two per side, and attached it to the plastic surround using an epoxy product from JB Weld that is designed to adhere plastic to metal on cars, waterproof, and held it perfectly. I would recommend clamping it in place, gently, don't crack the glass.
