I stumbled onto your incredible family a week ago. I showed my wife and we're hooked. The song California is stunning and for the life of me don't know why we've never heard it on Country radio. Katie's voice is angelic, and the group dynamic is amazing. We'd love to hear Katie cover Rainy Days and Mondays, Close to You, Superstar or just about any Carpenter song. If I close my eyes and listen to California, I'd bet anyone Karen Carpenter is covering Katie's song. Julianne knocks us out with Gentle on My Mind, my wife adores listening to Ellen yodel and we love listening to Matt and Emmett pick and Momma Peterson pluck. Love, Love, Love...
HAA! The funniest thing to me is how tolerant your parents are of y'alls shenanigans. I sooooo wish our parents had possessed that kind of patience and tolerance of silliness. I am LOVING these morning chats at breakfast! I never got to have this kind of family and I was that kid who always dreamed of it, so watching these videos gives me a chance to live vicariously through you guys! Thank you for doing these!

I’m so glad the CZcams algorithm popped “Jolene” into my recommended vids list. I still don’t know why it did. The video was under 100k views at the time, IIRC, and I had never ever, not once, watched a bluegrass or country music video on CZcams. But, as I say, I’m glad it did. The Petersens have quickly gone from my favorite bluegrass band (being the only one I know), to my favorite family band, to my favorite band, to just plain my favorite people. Much respect.

Such a beautiful and happy family I lived in the USA for 26 hears, Had to come back to Brazil (crying). Love the USA. Love your music and your family. And ADORE pancakes. My pancakes are made from scratch and turn to be very good. This is the only piece of America I have with me, besides my love and great memories of America. Matt should sing "Ruby" by Kenny Rogers. I'm loving watching Dad chow down, rockin' the bedhead a la Keith Richards 1971. Matt's personality is a lot like Dad's. It was great to see the standard issue Petersen Smile on Mama as she came out of her shell. It was nice because she has a smoldering intensity and a look of consternation as she masterfully lays down the thump. This was the vid I was looking for.

I've always liked the Kenny Rodgers and Dolly Parton song "Islands in the Stream". I think your band would do a great job with that song.
Bee Gees did an excellent song, but I have to admit that the version of Kenny and Dolly is really wonderful and it would be a good idea if this excellent group of musicians and young singers played it.
They all have great potential, which they could afford to perform any piece of music, further enhancing its original interpretations.

I just came up on you all tonight. I love the wholesomeness of these young ladies and the young man. Always keep that and always be proud of it. I have a request that I'd love to hear you all do. Brian McKnight's version of "You don't know me" or " Another gray morning" by James Taylor.

Mix dark brown sugar with dark beer. Slather one side of each strip of bacon, bake at 400F for 5 minutes. Remove from oven, flip the bacon, repeat for other side. Mmmm...candied bacon.

It must be great coming from a large family. I can see how that would be helpful coordinating together while playing music. As a only child I really think I've missed something important while learning to play guitar and I only began to improve when I found someone else to play with. Neither one of us were any good to start but learning together made a huge difference in our skill level. I love your music and please accept my appreciation for what your family does. GOODER BACON RECIPE: Buy the thick sliced bacon and put it (not touching) on a cookie cooling rack in a pan, or the rack Katie used. Preheat to 400 degrees F. sprinkle sugar lightly on the bacon or you can brush with hone,y but your cook time will be greater with honey and it won't be as crisp. cook for 26 min. I do a whole pack so I use two pans and swap them out at 13 mins (top vs bottom) for more even cooking. Turn the oven off at 26 min but leave the bacon in until it is as crispy as you want it. Take it out and pat the top dry with paper towels. If you leave it in long enough and can refrain from opening the door over and over, you will get fascistic bacon for breakfast or BLTs.
