Folks this is not a head injury. Its a rare condition called commotio cordis. Caused by a blunt trauma to the chest which subsequently causes cardiac arrest even with no previous cardiac condition. He needed an immediate cpr or defibrillation then and there. Praying he got it and hoping for a good prognosis.

I was hit like that in the chest playing football in HS and quit. I swore my heart stopped for a second and then my chest hurt for days later. That and I was concussed for the first time in my life. You can call me weak but I just couldn't consciously inflict pain on myself. Fast forward years later and I get an ekg and my doctor is freaking out. Apparently I sustained some type of damage to the heart. Now knowing what concussions do...probably to the head too.
I quit football in HS also after 4 concussions and several other injuries. The sport is fun to play and watch, but moments like this make you wonder if it is worth it.

The impact on the chest happened to land at the moment his heart entered the T wave, causing cardiac arrest. Technically, yes, he had no pulse. This condition is called Commotio Cordis and is fatal if defibrillation is not administered right away.

Yes. His heart stopped instantly but his brain didn’t know that yet…once he stood up, the blood drained from his brain and he collapsed. Amazing they were able to get his heart restarted. He will have a very very long road to recovery if he survives this. The odds are very much against him, but definitely it is possible to survive, especially since he received immediate CPR 🙏
@@goosinator6066I think that is probably what happened. Also, hearing heart attack, but I think it is like a heart attack, so the hit ti the chest probably caused the heart to change rhythm to ventricular fibrillation.
