Classic Tailback - Adrian Peterson Oklahoma Highlights

  • A complete compilation of Adrian Peterson's highlights at the University of Oklahoma. "AD" was a truly dominant runner from the moment he stepped on campus in Norman. Skill-wise, Peterson was an unfathomable combination of Herschel Walker and Barry Sanders. Nothing but injuries could slow him down. In this video makers' humble opinion, All Day was the best tailback of the new millennium. Better than Reggie Bush, Marshawn Lynch, Melvin Gordon, Todd Gurley, or any other player you can think of.
The games I used to take the clips from can be other channels I used as well that you can find if you look around): / sbbarnet. .

I forget who it was, but a guy who played for the Cowboys at the time, when AP was a senior in high school, said that his team at Palestine High School once came in for a visit, and guys in the locker room were looking at Adrian Peterson and saying amongst themselves “he could be on this team, and could start for us right now, even as senior in high school“

It's amazing for me too see how much his game changed of his college career. Though he always was fast, powerful, and agile, he learned how to change his pace so well when he pretty much ran one speed as a freshman which made it harder to find the holes. He seemingly got more comfortable with every carry as his freshman year went on. He started a little uncomfortable and by the end of his freshman year looked like a he was a professional playing against kids. Probably my favorite player ever and in my opinion one of the greatest rbs to ever do it

This is, most likely, going to be the longest football video I will ever make. So don't expect anything this lengthy again. This particular video contains every decent, good, great, and mind-blowing play of Adrian Peterson's career at Oklahoma.
This will also be the last video that is numbered, since the numbers confuse people. Any objections?

    • @PockyCandy
      @PockyCandy  Před 7 lety +3

Kitch D I'm a Vikings fan....so I'm not the most unbiased person in the world. If we are talking about only college, from the players I've been able to watch, he's in the conversation. It's pretty much impossible to say who is better than who. I think that Dickerson, Dorsett, Peterson, Walker, Jackson, Sanders, Campbell, Grange, Blanchard/Davis, and maybe Bush are all roughly on the same level (and I'm leaving out a lot of good backs who were probably just as good). But, and this is just my opinion: In terms of the ability to run, Peterson is in a class by himself. But that's just the opinion of a very partial Vikings fan who has grown up watching AD.

    6’2 215lbs that ran a 4.40 and could squat 500+ at 19….
The most physically dominant HB to ever play college football. I had been a Vikings fan since Moss/Carter, but then there was a few down years. When they picked him I was ecstatic. Then when he put up almost 300 yds as a rookie against the Chargers I was completely sold.
Then he tears both his ACL and MCL, rehabs at this insane speed, and comes 9 yards (and 1 play) short of the NFL season record. Truly a legend.

I’m sure everybody has noticed this but PockyCandy uploaded over a hour of footage of this mutant of a running back. Like somebody said in the comment section he could have played in the NFL straight out of HighSchool. Just a freak of nature. He had size, speed, power, running back and one other element that only a few possessed but every running back should have is furious anger. Nobody can tell me he wasn’t angry on his runs. The defense were talking trash and he fed off that and he dished out punishment.

  • @WalterWhiteFootballSharing

What makes the Classic Tailback series so awesome is that NCAA FBS is kind of a Running League still. Running the ball won titles; as recently as 2014 Ohio State rushed for 200+ yards in both Playoff games. Alabama Dynasty did not use Elite QBs who could start 10 games yet in the NFL.

In the NFL "We may never see the likes of Him Again" A 2000 yard 2012 season. The Man blew out his knee and came back angry and twice as powerful like he did nothing but lift weights for the entire Recovery. Probably Some HGH was used; no effective testing had been agreed upon for HGH as of 2012.
Todd Gurley; Melvin Gordon; Zeke, Saquan, Sony Michel, Guice, Chubb, may be great; will not get 2000 Rushing Yards; unless they have a terrible QB and rushing is all they have. Which is why 2012 AP is so amazing, that's Christian Ponder handing off to him; a Guy who can't take full advantage of 8-9 man boxes by throwing TD's to Singled up WR's. A good QB makes a great RB greater; can't stack the box; or 15 yard comebacks to-50 yard bombs occur. Defensive coaches will always choose the 5 yard run over the 15 yard pass.

12:52 99.99% of runningbacks would have been stopped in the backfield on that play but not AD

Wish he had more luck at OU - collarbone injury, Jason White playing hurt against USC and AP had to try to carry the offence, the loss against Boise State…

I see a lot of Walter Payton in AP in the physicality he has, but I see a lot of O.J. too. I know some people will be upset about that, but he's about the same size as O.J.(6'1 212 to 217 area) and has the same finesse and agility!

Dedrick McConnell You are 100% correct. I've always said he's a bigger stronger faster Walter Payton. But I definitely see OJ in there too bc of the tremendous speed and explosiveness. Great stuff.

Why would people be upset at the OJ comparison? OJ Simpson is a top 5 RB of all time, many would ague hes the GOAT RB, and they would have a strong case for it too

I'll always remember how he stated he went to OU so he could win a Natty. Texas took on Jamaal Charles. Charles stated "he was gonna make us all forget about AP..." we did, Jamaal x1 Natty, AP x0. That's what I find as funny

Adrian Peterson loves football except for one thing: they don't play doubleheaders.

Watching this makes me miss being part of the Big 12.. I realize the fan base wasn't big for Colorado considering most of CU's alum came from California but it was fun playing all those competitive Big 12 schools and for the most part Colorado held their own back in those days. I still hate Nebraska to this day.
