    That is a great way to explain the setup process Jason! Very clear!

    Great video! Sometimes I think about all the complexity I've added to my setup and the types of problems I've had recently. Control device refusing to connect to my Mevo no matter how many times I restart both. Travel router SSID suddenly disappearing. Stream working fine for game 1 of a doubleheader but nothing working at the start of game 2. Everything working perfectly when testing out in the backyard but nothing working at all when I get to the ballfield. Sometimes I find myself envious of people who simply attach their phones to the backstop with a bungie cord! This was a good reminder that having a strict setup order like this might be what I need to get some more consistency.

      I feel this comment. So many times I’ve had equipment refuse to cooperate. But I havent had it in a long time once I found an order to work for me.

    Best explanation I've seen of setup process, options and different configurations. Thanks for taking the time to do this!

    Do you have a suggestion for a lightning adapter to Ethernet that could connect an iPad running Multicam to an iPhone 13 Pro Max for internet? Seems like all I’ve seen are 10/100mbps and wouldn’t that actually be worse than just connecting each via WiFi? Wanted to hard wire to see if it helps reliably of stream so i can still connect another iPad wirelessly to run GameChanger.

    I would love for a quick consultation of getting my hardware setup. I have a Verizon Inseego 3100 (which I am told has a router), Slate ATX 1800 router, Mevo Start and IPhone 15.

    What data plan do you recommend for the Hot spot?

    Finally a great detailed video. Quick question - if you're not going to use the AX1800 slate as a repeater, why not just use the Mifi for wifi? I got the Nighthawk M6 Pro 5G mmWave WiFi 6E Mobile Hotspot Router so planning on just using that and remove the AX1800 from the setup. Do you see any issues with doing that?

    • @JasonHoffmanYT
      @JasonHoffmanYT  Před měsícem +1

      No, the Nighthawk has a MUCH better processor than my mifi hotspot device. I use the AXT1800 to handle the traffic of the cameras because the Inseego will bog down.

    • @parmlalli
      @parmlalli Před měsícem

      @@JasonHoffmanYT One follow up question. If I remove the AX1800 Slate is it better to 1) connect the cameras to the Nighthawk M6 Pro via WIFI and connect my ipad to it as well via wifi so it's on the same network and then stream or 2) Connect the M6 Pro to my M1 iPad Pro via ethernet adapter and then bond the connection via Speedify and then connect cameras to my ipad via cellular to start streaming?

    • @JasonHoffmanYT
      @JasonHoffmanYT  Před měsícem +1

      @@parmlalli I Ethernet my iPad to the router (nighthawk in your case) and connect all my cameras to the router. I run Speedify on the iPad and bond its cell connection with the mifi connection for streaming.

    • @parmlalli
      @parmlalli Před měsícem

      @@JasonHoffmanYT Thanks for sharing. That's exactly what I will do. Wouldn't connecting iPad to Nighthawk via Wifi achieve the same results? I guess ethernet is more stable.

    Hey @JasonHoffmanYT - This weekend was HOT in the Midwest. We had a baseball tournament and my streaming setup includes Mevo Start and I'm using my phone hotspot for the Mevo. Most people at the ballpark this weekend attempting to stream had an issue with the heat. I wasn't the only one... but my phone kept overheating. I did manage to make it through our last game.. but I held my phone in my hand in the shade.. this isn't really a feasible option.. but I did it this time because I wanted to ensure the stream stayed on. Have you had issues with extreme heat with your equipment? What are your tips to ensure that the heat isn't an issue for your hardware? Thank you! Note - I had a heat shield for the Mevo.. and it did great. No issues with my Mevo Start. It was just my phone. Thank you in advance!

    • @JasonHoffmanYT
      @JasonHoffmanYT  Před měsícem +1

      If your phone is waterproof set it on a reusable ice pack. If you can set up in the shade it might be enough to run an external battery connected to your phone. When the battery in your phone is discharging it generates quite a bit of heat. Much less when it is charging so using an external source helps. And shade lets you run the screen brightness down a bit, another source of heat.

    What’s the best camera to use for behind home plate. Single camera use only. Video game so I can clip highlights of plays throughout the game. Nearstream v33 or Mevo start. This would be for a beginner. Would like best image in video form. Also, want to be able to video whole field as well as zoom in on a particular play. Which would best fit my needs?

    • @JasonHoffmanYT
      @JasonHoffmanYT  Před měsícem

      NearStream has the better image quality but Mevo has the better software for control. With what you are wanting to do I would try VM33 first.

    Do I need a mifi if my cell phone had a Hotspot built in?

      Some folks have success using the hotspot feature of their cell phone. What device is controlling the cameras? This same cell phone or another device?

    Do I need a mifi or can I tether my Samsung tablet to the router in Hotspot mode. My tablet is also my main control center that I would want to stream from. My mevo starts (2 of them) connect wireless to router
