    Both the P238 and the P938 have a firing pin block. The block only moves out of the way when the trigger is pulled. So even if the safety was off, the gun was dropped and the hammer released, the firing pin could not reach the primer---being stopped by the firing pin block. So both guns are extremely safe to carry cocked and locked. There are some good videos out there on this subject. I have been carrying my 938 for years. It's my summer carry---very light.

    It's all in the stealth editing. We have a secret program developed by NASA that allows one to edit video without it appearing edited. Heck, it's the only way I can appear to hit the target, though. :-) If people discovered I really don't even like guns and have very little experience with them, they would probably quit watching. I have to do SOMETHING.

    I bought the P938 about three weeks ago, and after carrying it in Sig's provided plastic holster for only three days, I began noticing that that the holster was marring the pistol's finish on the top of the slide.
    I reported this to Sig, and they not only sent me a pre-paid shipping ticket with Fedex, they replaced the slide as a courtesy to me and sent it back to me at their expense, too, rapidly.
    I'm now using a leather holster, and I won't use the plastic one every again, but I want applaud Sig Sauer for taking care of this situation. That's one QUALITY-centric company.
    Kudos to Sig.

I called up Sig they sent me a load packing slip through FedEx I sent it to them within a week they return it to me as a courtesy to me they upgraded the slide to a nickel finish it was originally black and did a Sig trigger job on it they stated the issue was a burr on the inside of the slide rail I still can't believe they upgraded the slide did the trigger job and returned it to me within a week I still have that pistol to this day I love it and I will not get rid of it

Hearing that 380acp sucks and little guns are not worthy of saving your life under stress,, revolvers don't have enough rounds etc.. I hate even watching those reviews. My Uncle, A Vietnam Veteran told me that if I had 100 rounds and couldn't hit what I was shooting at it didn't matter what round was in the chamber. See the video. I didn't notice anything about the trigger for me, but I have rather thin fangers, even though they are long. Someone with larger fingers might notice that in such a small gun. As with about any pistol, it's way more accurate than any of us are; I did not benchrest it or stick it in a Ransom Rest. I did not have the gun all that long, but I get a pretty good impression pretty fast on a firearm. Any major negatives just tend to jump out at me pretty quickly.

    In my opinion, selling guns for a major retailer, the P938 is one of the very best sub-compact carry guns available. The 1911 style and mechanics have been around - unchanged for decades for a very good reason. And that reason is soundness of design.

    • @thebusterdog6358
      @thebusterdog6358 Před 4 lety +1

      Well then why did they change it for so many sub-compacts such as the Sig P938 and the Kimber Micro 9? Both are somewhat 1911's by virtue of the 7° grip to slide angle and SAO. But omit grip safeties, drop safeties and a positive trigger that slides back instead of hinges at the top.

      +Janice Neace Thanks for the info. When I physically compared the P938 to the original Walther PPK (James Bond's famous movie original was in .25 and the .380 real model was hyped later after the movies. Movies give the actors a .22 model and blanks, then dub in the barrel size and sound, as if we do not see that. I found the PPK and P938 are almost exactly the same H x W x L and weight as my old repro .380 PPK, but much more ergonomic; a much better trigger, no hammer pinch. Ambi: I am also a lefty with pistols, and a righty with rifles and bows (if you know what I mean). The 1911 style cocked and locked carry may be scary to those who have misgivings about their own readiness to carry a semi-auto. It may be better for them to have a revolver. Just chatting, and want to hear from you, OK?

I personally can shoot it nearly as well and tight groups as full size pistols; something I couldn't do with say the Glock 43, Nano, ect.

    My wife just purchased this very model, a 9mm Sig P938 Extreme. I am excited about her choice. It is well balanced and sits well in the average hand. The sights naturally fall into place, and it is a 1911-type single action design which translates into speed and reliability. Of course, with the latter comes training. I became hardwired to the 1911 action beginning with my time in the Navy when we were issued .45 ACP Model 1911-A1 service pistols, and later in police service pistol competitions. My wife’s current handgun for home and travel is a .38 Smith & Wesson Model 64 with a 3” barrel. The S&W may become her house gun and the Sig will likely be her travel/carry weapon.

    I bought a Kimber micro 9 for my Brother in law 3 weeks ago. It's a sweet little pistol but I'm a Sig guy. In a couple of weeks I plan on buying the P938 for myself. I bought the new Sig Sauer P938 SAS about 2 weeks after this post. I have to admit I like the Sig better than the Kimber. But both are sweet shooters. The Kimber Micro 9 had issues with 115g 9mm ammo at first but seems to handle it now (after about a 500 round break in). The Sig has handled everything right out of the box, it now has about 300 rounds of various 9mm ammo with no problems. That hokey POS Sig holster stayed in the box and I bought a Wright Leather Works custom holster for it. It took 10 weeks to get it but well worth the wait.

    I appreciate both this video and those you provided on the S&W Shield.
    Although I carried a .45 in condition 1 and even 0 when events got hot, I wouldn't feel comfortable with the Sig carried in an appendix holster. In addition, I didn't want to replace recoil springs frequently so I went with the Shield with a safety. Again, thanks for your videos--well done!

    Nice to hear the positive comments on the P938. I carry a Sig Sauer P220 Carry SA .45 caliber with thumb safety. Love my Sig and shoot very accurate compared to all the other guns I've tried but it's quite heavy. Looking forward to buying the P938 which will have the same muscle memory as my P220. Only difference is the trigger pull on my P220 is 5lbs so I'll modify the P938 or just get use to the 7.5 lb pull. Extreme version feels great in my hands! Scorpion not bad too.

    Great gun. Instantly replaced glock 43 in my carry rotation. Unbelievably Straight shooting and low recoil pistol that's great with the seven round mag. I sold the 6 round and got more seven rounders. Eats and throws all ammo with wonderful sights. Definitely worth spending a couple more dollars and get this over the other single stacks. Not only night sights and beautiful but can come in many configurations including a laser or light. Carry one in the chamber with seven waiting gets the job done and is a joy to shoot.
