    To know how to clean evaporator coil on AC unit, it is helpful to be familiar with the function of an evaporator for your evaporator coil cleaning.
    Therefore, we will also be going over this in this video on how to clean an evaporator coil. Learning the coil cleaner AC unit uses can be helpful as well so we will be going over this as well, as it relates to your evaporator coil.
    Cleaning evaporator coil can be challenging, but it is worth your time. To properly clean evaporator coil, you need to actually have an HVAC tech pull the coil and clean it, but this can be a very expensive process so the AC coil cleaning spray can sometimes be the better option of cleaning air conditioner coils if you don't want to spend an arm and a leg.
    To clean an evap coil, you will need a few tools, including a duct knife, silver tape, spray glue, and of course the AC coil cleaner itself.
    Learning how to clean AC coils can save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars, and an HVAC coil cleaning can also greatly reduce your electric bill.
    I hope this video helps you to learn how to clean air conditioner coils, as you will now learn cleaning evaporator coil in place with coil spray.

      Yeah thanks for the feedback. This is more of a run and gun channel so you probably are not gonna find that smooth and professional look. Just don’t have the time or man power. But the heart to help will definitely be there👍 thanks again!

    I did find this interesting and informative. However, my system has a gas furnace with the A-coil mounted on top of the furnace. All the duct work is galvanized sheet metal. How do I get to the bottom of the coil, or for that matter the top, to clean it?

      That’s a tough question to answer, without being there. For that you might want to call in a professional

    So you just sprayed it and shut it back up?

    How do you find out what kind of coils I have ? My indoor AC is made by Payne

      You just want to gain access to the return side of your coil (the side of the coil that your filter protects). If there is a plenum (AC box) connected to that side, you can cut a hole in there but if you are going to cut it, only cut it according to how I demonstrated in the video. If you are unsure at all, I would call an HVAC company.

    13:42 Why do you want to wear gloves when you touch insulation?

    • @mechanicsfornonmechanics8998
      @mechanicsfornonmechanics8998  Před 10 měsíci +2

      Because the insulation has fiber glass in it that gets in your skin and irritates it, which can last for a few days or more.

    Many, perhaps most, of the coil cleaning products contain corrosive chemicals of some sort and varying strengths. Some of the stronger ones will remove paint from painted coils. You should understand that anything containing corrosives is something you do not want on your skin or to inhale the vapors into your lungs. Wear rubber gloves, preferably the kind with long cuffs. Wear a respirator mask with filters rated to remove caustic fumes.
