I missed this part. Very good advice. I write Sci-Fi fantasy stories for myself just because I love doing it. My wife enjoys them, and that's enough for me. I believe you should do what you are passionate about. I am a full time executive Chef at a Major University in the Boston area and I am happy doing it. I paid my dues in grinding restaurants and hotels for 20+ years so this is Amazing. If I get published some day great, but if not I will never stop writing. It really sucks that people get stuck in dead end jobs, just to pay the bills and something dies inside them. Creativity is the last thing you have after a 10 hour on your feet shift.
What I miss the most in the tech journalist world today is Brian Klug going on a rant. When you guys were doing the old podcast and he would go on a tear about something,. It was truly great. The nerd in me really misses that. Closest I have seen to it is when level1 tech people do their news shows or when Steve at gamer's nexus is fired up about something.
I was 16 when I started writing reviews for a not very professional Spanish media. Now I'm 28 and I'm in that 25-40 lapse you told us about. I have to pay things and after so much daily work I don't have energy to devote my free time to writing...
...there was me thinking "Almost nobody in the 25 to 40 range" heh.... then realizing I've only published 12 videos this year 😅😅😂 For me though it is a hobby for sure. I'm an Engineer by day but always enjoyed analyzing and writing about tech so CZcams was the natural progression for me.
