- Well, our S650 Mustang Drag Car, dubbed the Silver Bullet 2.0, has certainly given us a challenge when it comes to going faster down the 1/4 mile. If you've been following you may have noticed, the first pass off the trailer is always the fastest. So in order to prep for the Spring Break Shootout coming up next week, we needed to figure out how to get more consistency out of the '24. And based on this past test and tune, we may have it figured out...

With a tune. The early shifts will be corrected. Your S650 launches strong but watching the video showing the tach. The trans shifts are inconsistent often shifting before the 7500 redline. A performance tune will change that while creating more ponies. I believe that a tuned setup will produce low 10s to upper 9 second ETs in your NA Mustang. I also believe Ford used what I call a soft tune in the Gen 4 Coyote to stay within government requirements for mpg. Remember a couple years ago Ford was required to pull 10 horsepower from the S550 GT. I believe you'll be blown away with the Gen 4 Coyote's full potential with an E85 tune and it's full 7500 RPMs, but currently you have the perfect consistent bracket Mustang. Hats off to you and the other folks at Steeda for the efforts your putting into the fantastic S650 V8 Mustang GT.

Very well put. I too, believe a tune and E85 will knock a half second off these ET's.
it's not LOL@@rodneyrael3024 Only Whipple has the ability to tune, through Ford.

Can’t you hold the paddle shifter down to switch back? Probably have to time it though
Can you add in a mechanical stopper in to keep you from shifting into neutral, like something spring loaded once you pull out of park to drive you have to reset it to go to neutral, reverse or park?
I think technique will help and more practice.
What's the full build? Does the Gen 3 with exact same mods do better or worse?
Yes. The Gen3 so far is still faster
I want to see what Gen 3 without a tune or E85 goes 10's.....

Great video Scott!!! Very interesting update. Looking forward to see how much weight savings is from the new carbon fiber hood that you showed this past week! How much weight do you save with the “rear seat delete”? Also the passenger seat delete. For the Florida street competition do you have to replace the back seats besides the passenger seat? Thanks Scott‼️👍👊💪🇺🇸
Rear seat delete saves about 40lbs and you can run with a rear seat delete in True Street. But we need to add back in the stock seats, which adds 24lbs, per seat, so the air bags work properly. Also, mufflers must be put back on, so 72lbs in seats, and about 10lbs in mufflers. Thankfully the hood saved more weight than we thought!
have an 18 pp1 on e85,lth,steeda closed air box,circle d convertor,drag pack,been 11,20 at 122mph,think the 4.09 gear will help,dont want to launch in 2 gear.What you think it will gain thanks
4.09's is fun, but with the right converter, the 3.31-3.55 work really well.
Scott great info excellent ET. With the 4.09 rear gear what size tire and the height , 👏🇨🇦👍😎💪also what rpm are turning at 70mph on the highway
Tire size is 305/45-17 and that is 28" tall. With the 4.09, in 10th gear it will turn 2245rpms at 70mph

No CEL with headers? How’s that that work? I’m dying to mod my dark horse!
CEL comes on with the long tubes, but right now it doesn't seem to effect performance at all.
That trans shifting on the big end seemed wonky.
yea, it was even worse with the 3.31-3.73 ratios
When is the new Carbon Fiber hood being added 🤔
Next week before Spring Break Shootout! Any weight to offset the stock seats going back in is definitely necessary.
