    This is the BEST video on recaulking a shower! It includes how to remove existing grout from change of plane joints. Thanks so much!!

    One of the few videos where the person actually knows what to do. A lot of videos out there telling you to just re-grout, or caulk over the existing grout, which will return to the same problem in a year or two.

    Helpful video. Question: Do you need to remove all of the old grout or can it be ground down a bit to accept the caulk between the floor and the wall?

    Thank you for the instruction. I agree that this is the best video I’ve seen on how to fix a shower. I’m not sure about wet cure. I don’t know if there is any moisture left in the pan. What if my pan is dry when I start. Should I spray at the start? Would water work just as well fot cleanup? I don’t like the idea of having chemicals on my skin as I run a finger along the seam. Toxic?

    Hi! I really enjoyed your video. The only thing I disagree with is putting bleach on natural stone, especially travertine. I was wondering if you could recommend what I should use to seal my travertine kitchen sink. I’m not sure if caulk would be better to cover the little holes I’m getting in it or if I need a colored lacquer. It’s beautiful and I want it to last but gets a lot of traffic so I’m just wondering what product would be the most durable long term. I plan on using a clear stone sealant every 6 months but I need a better long term option for the little holes/chips that are forming in the bottom of the sink. Thanks for any recommendations

    • @colorfastind261
      @colorfastind261  Před rokem

      Unfortunately we don't have a product to fill in the holes for the Travetine but the most important part is going to be the sealer.

    The floor corners of my shower was grouted instead of caulked. Where the gap is big enough, I managed to remove all the grout all the way back until I reached the thinset, but it was more time consuming. Thanks
    To ensure the best seal and prevent mold build-up inside, is it best to try and remove all the grout (if you can) before caulking?
    Or is it a waste of time, and I should aim to just remove 2/3 of the grout before caulking?

    • @colorfastind261
      @colorfastind261  Před rokem +1

      It is best to remove as much as you can. Keep in mind the Tile & Grout Caulk is good for gaps up to 1/4" if its larger than that you should use the Ultra Performance Caulk. The Ultra Performance Caulk will also last much longer and is naturally mold and mildew resistant.

    Hello, I went to a tile specialty store today and they recommended your product for my shower (corner & along seem between pan and wall). The person helping me recommended Tile and Grout caulk. I see that you recommend the caulk. Should I return this and get the caulk instead?

    • @colorfastind261

    I used some Custom non-sanded ceramic caulk from Home Depot along my tiled shower pan floor and wall... its been 72 hour and some of the caulk still feels soft compared to other parts. Any idea why this is happening?

    • @colorfastind261
      @colorfastind261  Před 2 lety +1

      It could be for a few reasons(moisture, joint size, etc.) especially if you used the shower recently before you re-caulked it. Try putting a small fan in there to expedite the curing process.

    • @colorfastind261
      @colorfastind261  Před 2 lety

      You can use the same mild bleach and water solution. Make sure to wear gloves and the area is ventilated. If its a glass door with metal hinges there is most likely some sort or soap or products build up that is allowing the mold to grow.

    • @colorfastind261

      You take the risk of the caulking cracking as well. There typically wont be enough caulking in the joint to allow for movement when you go over the top of grout.
