Just curious but why did you disregard tip 2 on the rest of the examples?
Yes, I noticed that too. Then checked the comments to see whether anyone else commented on that.
I think it's because if you do a straight cut on the tip it will have a natural curve and leave the silicon with a better consistent finish as apposed to having bulges running it back the normal way.
When running the normal way you cut the tip at an angle which this video shows after tip 2.
Tip 2 can cause you to judder on wood or rough surfaces, he used this method on smooth tiles which wouldn't judder and provides a better finish with a straight cut tip being used.
Hope this answered your question 👍🏻
Because they can't caulk for shit 😂
😝
Tip 2 was an afterthought and added to the #2 spot by mistake in edit.
First of all the reason you get uneven bead is you’re using the cheapest caulk gun you can buy. Secondly only putting down dotted lines to make a smooth bead is wrong because when you do that you create air bubbles which will make the silicone fail faster. How do I know? I’m a professional caulker with 30+ years experience. I’ve waterproofed the outside of high rise buildings that are still sealed after 20 years.
Hello, other than dotting, are all the tricks right here ?
@@emrecenkers9721 the reason why urethane always fails is the center of the bead has a stronger adhesion in the center and the edges pull away. After cleaning the substrate lay a tiny bead of silicone into the corner. Let dry then run a bigger bead over top of the silicone. Remember to be very neat because the urethane will not adhere to the silicone therefore the edges are stronger than the center. It’s called a bond breaker.
@@poppyd9758 Thank you for the quick reply.

부드러운 비드를 만들기위해 점선을 만드는 것은 잘못 되었죠.
몇번의 연습으로 숙달하면 실리콘헤라가 없이도 원터치로 가능하죠 이게 베스트라고 생각합니더.
I don't understand how to caulk and have a beautiful clean rounded seal. What am I doing wrong? Is the caulk gun I bought from Walmart garbo? Am I releasing too much? Am I going to slow? Do I cut the tip in a specific way? I'm pretty handy, but for some odd reason there are little skills like this that I have trouble with lol
Thank you for all the techniques!
Apart from your videos being useful, you present the videos in natural tone, without any disturbing music, which is great and beautiful, and thanks for that!

As a painter for 20 years. And applying about 500 miles of caulk until my fingers are bleeding(some days). This is absolutely Trash. Lol. Good for a million views tho. Good luck everyone.

The duct tape "cap" was definitely a solid tip, thanks!
Very handy tips, I'm sure to try a few of them on my next project.
What! No wailing guitars, no one screaming information...Love it!
Most definitely will have to remember theirs trikes thank you
Thank you! It is very helpful for beginers like me.
Tons of awesome useful tricks. Saved.
Amazing video, thank you!
Thanks! Love it!
I've never applied silicon and can't imagine I will any time soon but I still have this knowledge now and that's something.
Fabulous! Thank you!
You are a genius!!! 💖👍 Thank you so much for posting. 😺
Good vid man! Thanks for sharing. Cheers from Alberta- Canada!
I’ve been putting tape on the end for 30 years in the Autobody shop... only give it a pump and fill the tape with silicon, Winshield urethane, seam sealer etc
Many Thanks for this very good Idea and for showing this video!
Thanks for the video 👍🏻👍🏻
wow, thanks for the presentation.
Awesome thanks
Oh great 👍🏻👍🏻
These will be a great help to me later ...I am mending something in my house using silicone glue and have no idea how I should do it in a proper way. Thanks sir 😃
There was some good tips there 👍👍👍I like the one that you go behind the tap.
Seems to really help when you turn the blade down into the surface rather that parallel to it when scraping caulk.
Doesn't matter which method you apply caulk as long as it works for you. The reason is that there are many variables, but the main one is level of control of the pumping hand as the rate of caulk flow is key.
As long as you cover the Crack or whatever it is you are trying to cover, that's all that matters!
When I apply cock it always works and pumps
And mainly
Experience
His first goes were always deliberately faster and more erratic
Women are the best, amazing what they can do with a wet finger. Oh, and men get overexcited and tend to pump to quickly
I would LOVE it to binch watch your videos, if you could put them in a playlist.Or several playlists!!!!
Always apply right to left except when caulking sink faucet. Helpful.
Uhm no
All very helpful thanks 👍
Thank you for these tips. Every day is a school day 🙂👍
Have a proper look at the caulk in tip 4. It's terrible lol
These are great ideas!
Reshaping the tip of the nozzle was priceless. Thanks.
Good job, caulk always dries for me, will try those different sealings
This is gonna help me a lot. I suck at this so bad lol.
Thank you
Awesome 👏 thanks ❤

Que legal, essas técnica também servem para PU40 ?
Bravo! You are super! Good job!
Instant sub you got from me love this vid.💯
thanks
So much more fun without heat. Stripping out caulk with a blade is oddly satisfying.

That finger got me laughing out loud! Love it!
Sehr hilfreich, vielen Dank fuer diese tollen Tips
At the beginning you told us NOT to go backwards but to go FOREWARDS with the caulking gun and then in all the other examples you went BACKWARDS........WHY?
This video is troll
Because they’re different tricks to fix the same problem. You’re not supposed to use all of the tricks at the same time
Good tips!
great video!
Thanks!
Can you apply that type of heat to silicone around a plastic or fiberglass bath
This trick help my job ❤
Excellent ideas 👍
Very good tips
Pushing the caulk gun tip forward is generally a terrible idea, but caulking two perfectly smooth solid slabs without any joint is the most controlled scenario and it turned out alright. I'll definitely try it next time! However it doesn't help for most real world applications. Cutting the tip properly and coordinating the movement of the gun with the flow of caulk is the best way to ensure a good product. Nice video
Yah this. the comparison shown in this video is ridiculous. careless application with a poorly cut tip vs a purposefully and carefully applied bead.
When you pull the caulk it spans the joint and then you have to tool the caulk to force it into the joint. When you push the caulk you force it into the joint and leave a little excess on top. If it were possible the best caulking job would fill the gap with no leftover exposed caulk.
@@donbrownist Not true. You can get the joint filled when pulling the caulk just fine. Proper hole side, proper tip cut angle, proper application angle, speed, etc will give a bead that requires little to no tooling, and a higher quality bead than pushing the caulk. Of course, any truly professional quality joint will require tooling anyway unless it's an exterior caulking that specifically states not to tool.
@@donbrownist check out the technique I outlined in a post above. GUARANTEES zero over run, GUARANTEES filling the joint ... You can keep going over it applying pressure on the caulk.
GUARANTEES the most professional, highest quality joint better than ANY pro can achieve with a gun, including invisible joints if required (only really viable on an initial install)
I have the results to prove it!
@@jnicemizthe exaggeration is a bit over the top but for a noob like me it helped prove the points. Had i seen this video before I wouldn’t be re-caulking today.
I work in the aircraft industry and the 2nd way is how we get taught to seal fuel tanks, fuselages etc as it fills the potential void areas better. I'm inclined to agree the 2nd way is better.
You're saying you were trained to push your caulking gun ?
@tuck6464 they're not caulking guns in the aircraft industry but its the same basic philosophy and yes we were trained to do it properly
So, you take that home with you when you have caulking to do around the house?@@jonathonwilliams93
Spot on
Thank you thank you 🙏
Thanks for sharing 👍
I like the way that the proper way to caulk is made to look wrong! I caulked for 35 years and talent is talent! It takes a while to become good but if l can do it so can anyone who really try’s!
I know lol. Never seen anyone in the trade push instead of drag. That's incredibly dumb
I don't see where anything was "made" to look wrong. I did see someone taking the time to address beginner problems with solutions that may help those that don't have "talent" but at least have some interest in becoming better at something that does take a little time acquiring the coordination and skill to lay down a bead of caulk that bridges the legs of both joints. Real talent does quality work with least amount of effort and material waste. The "proper way" is all perspective cause anything can be made to look good on the outside, yet covering the mistakes made on the inside. How many walls, windows, doors, showers, are replaced because a 35 year talented professional didn't lay a bead of caulk properly by code? Or better yet didn't use the correct type for the application. Come on now, instead of being negative why not add some positive feedback to the person trying making an effort to help others become more confident working with sealants. Have a good day and be safe out there.
@@andremartinez5127 this didn't solve a problem or make it easier. There is less caulk in that joint and I'm sure it's so thin if there is any movement in material that it would Crack or separate. The reason some things are done the way they are is maybe not because it's the "right way" but it's the necessary way of laying down a sufficient bead of caulk and getting the most longevity out of the application. Most videos like this solve little problems and muddy the waters with people who think they know how to do something but have no clue.
@@andremartinez5127 get over it! This guy is saying that he knows what he’s doing! He’s trying but the x says the correct way and the ✅ is vice versus! How about saying that this method is different and not to say which is correct or incorrect!
Thanks for replies gentlemen have a great day
anyone wanting to remove sealant without burning their baths can always use some penetrating spray like a wd40, spray over lightly, it will start to break down in 15-20 mins, you will however need to use a white spirit/clean spirit works too before applying the new stuff
good information!!
cool !. .thanks !
I make time-lapse shirts tips for similar so good ideas you have now subbed !
I like how this kind of videos are only useful for the info you can gather from the comments rather than the video itself.
Great trick
After 15 years of me caulking, this guy finally showed me to squeeze the caulk out of the pointy end, mind blowing…
😂
I liked the part where he showed that using too fat of a bead wastes more than using a smaller bead
Your a caulking genius!
It's silicone!
Наблюдать ваши видео это отдельная форма удовольствия 👍
Thanks
👍👍💪
Just brilliant
Thanks.
AWESOME 👌
That silicone gets hard in the tube if kept for later use.
Metal hooks/screw may corrode (especially with water based), leaving you to deal with brown or flecked caulk for a while, or eventually ruin your tip.
Tape or cling wrap is good for air tight. Or 3D print a cap.
Where were you 10 years ago ? Could have saved me a lot of grief with silicone. Especially that taps trick ! 😀
do I only use the pushing method when it's a straight cut?
fajny film, najlepszy ze wszystkich. Ja bym dodał jeszcze cięcie skośne końcówki wtedy też zgodnie z posuwem ładnie się silikon rozprowadza
Ta dla przedszkola nie dla profi
thx
Gracias!!!
I use silicone and caulk basically every day and i cant say these arent good techniques but using a newer caulk gun would also help and with the lighter it would help people to see more than only the side view of what you were showing them a huge part of all this work is the size of the exit hole personally i dont always have the time to do little spurts i have to be able to seal up every edge in a room in about 15-20 minutes but for something small that would come in handy or something that isnt being rushed. Im not saying amy of these are bad tips and the last ones i use myself gotta plug the caulk and hooks are my go to or screws but over all i do like this video just need a little more for people who are watching this for home use
Excellent points. I too noticed the work on the tip, wasn't captured properly.
Thanks for the tip
Can you use the heat gun to remove the caulk around a bathtub?
Please make a video - how to prevent the bottled from dry after used silicon , so it can be reused after longtime.🙏
I shove a nail down then tape. Helps pull hard plug out to free the still good caulk.
this guy loves calk!
Спасибо. Некоторые твои идеи использую. 👍
Thumbs up and subscribed!
The Maker, good tips👍. However, why did you not use continue using the PUSH method on your subsequent examples 🤔
Good on you for calling his ass out 😆
Nice !
Great tips!!
Haha! New favorite video!
Well, I just learned a lot of nifty thing... been storing my silicon wrong all this time, too!
Brilliant.....Super....Clever.......WORD
Complimenti per i consigli davvero molto utili e meno spreco 👍👍👍👍💯👏👍
Make sure the object can withstand a lot of heat if using a heat gun to remove silicone. You might warp or melt your tub surround if it’s plastic. I would never do something so stupid or anything, 👀 but I’ve heard this could happen
Genius!
Loved it
Trik yang sangat bermanfaat dan membantu, terimakasih sudah berbagi 🙏
Awesome tips, will be very helpful, thank you

Hello. I haven't cut my toenails since 1973. They poked through my green socks in September 1974. I haven't removed my socks since they poked through.
