The headwind was corrected to -1.3 at the very end of this video, and it's listed as -1.3 on iaaf. Factor in the very wet track, and the cold as well, and you realise that this was pretty much equal with Bolt's 9.58 (0.9 tailwind) and 9.69, and Powell's 9.72. Powell's form in August and September '08 was astonishing.

9.77 and 9.83 into a -1.3m/s headwind= 9.70 and 9.76 basic. This race is faster that Bolt's 9.63 (+1.7) in London. Had we had decent conditions (dry track, decent temperature 20 degrees and even a decent tailwind 1.0m/s) we would have seen a world record at the time. This is Bolt's second fastest race (basic time) and it was run in atrocious conditions. A tailwind of 1.0m/s would have given us 9.65 and 9.71. A maximum tailwind of 2m/a would have given us 9.60 and 9.66 in these conditions!!!!

***Having no 100m sprinting background, Usain Bolt comes out of no where like the announcer said and starts dominating the 100m races and starts setting all types of world sprinting records, give me a break.***

He’s just a bitter envious yankee bouy that’s all, these type of haters don’t matter the whole wide world matters and the history books and numbers don’t lie, I’m surprised he didn’t throw Jessie Owens and girl boy Carla Lewis in his lame comment😂

@justlovesong2u Sorry to break it to you mate, but british commentators are definately better than the americans at track and field.
czcams.com/video/0Xj76R710uM/video.html&feature=channel - between 2 commentators, neither manages to mention ANY other sprinters in the race - Bailey & Blake set PR's. Blake was 20 and ran 9.93! But no, they said the same thing about Bolt's top speed in 3 different ways to try and highlight its significance. British commentators deliver facts through knowledge
