- The last two weeks have been blissfully slow and I've delighted in my daily wanders through snowdrop laden woods. Heidi has also been on half term at school so we've tried to get out and visit a couple of new places that we haven't been to before. We headed to Thornbridge Hall near Ashford-in-the-Water and Hopton Hall near Carsington Reservoir - both located here in Derbyshire.

Nothing beats the winter blues better than making the effort to get out and discover the beauty and wonderful healing powers of nature. It is so heart warming to see your lively happy hoppy little girl enjoying herself whilst developing her artistic observational skills. As well as taking photos, she may well become interested in drawing and painting the lovely plants you are going to press.
Absolutely! Fresh air, nature and a bit of daylight do wonders 🥰 I’m so glad that Heidi enjoys the outdoors too. I think it’s important to get little ones to appreciate the world around them, sets them in good stead for life! She’s really taken to photography lately which I love being a photographer myself but on the whole Heidi is really creative! Mainly drawing and painting, she spends hours every day painting/drawing something or other. We’ve got a house full of canvases 😅
My own daughter eventually became a biologist through her love of nature and has never really stopped drawing and painting both traditionally and in digital form since she was little. So well worth fostering those interests!
