ShartimusPrime Biography:
Inspired by watching boring Transformers action figure reviews, the ShartimusPrime youtube channel was launched in 2008. Engaging the audience with an edgy sense of humor for adult collectors, action figure collecting has never been this fun, and videos are posted daily! Unexpectedly, the channel became more popular for Marvel Legends reviews and Spider-Man, Avengers, and X-Men collection display videos. After a few years, the channel has branched out to review other figure properties aside from Marvel Legends and G1 Transformers Masterpiece. Hot Toys, Star Wars, Diamond Select Toys, DC Collectibles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, Godzilla, Evil Dead, and The Walking Dead toy lines have all been added to the roster of nearly 2,000 video reviews. Japanese import figures from SH Figuarts, Bandai, Figma, Square Enix, and Medicom MAFEX have been favorites as well. More recently, Kotobukiya Statues (including the very sexy Bishoujo line) and NECA Toys have become more prevalent on the channel. Being a big fan of movies such as Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Evil Dead, Pacific Rim, Aliens, and other films has lead the channel in the direction of also reviewing movies, movie trailers, blu ray releases, and tv shows. News updates for 2016 releases and beyond are also posted. Audience engagement is a big part of this channel, with giveaways and fan mail being read publicly once a week in the PO Box Pick-Up videos. Impressive “Shart-Art” is shared via social media and included in the opening theme song. The audience is also kept up to date with any changes to the channel, along with recent comic book pick-ups, unboxings, and action figure hauls. Stop-motion segments punishing the popular meme of the Big Time Let Down Spider-Man close most of the comparison segments, and are compiled together for guaranteed access to patrons. Lastly, all figure reviews close with a slideshow featuring dynamic poses of the figure inspired by ACBA, with the added bonus of music performed and recorded by ShartimusPrime himself.

I broke the wafting red effect piece off of my MAFEX Cyk figure, so the thought of even trying on this one didn’t occur to me. Holy crap it just comes off super easy!!
Then I broke the red effect from this figure:( if they just give me another head sculpture with no red effect it would be nice😢
We need an updated Astonishing Beast.
I actually think that beast holds up for the most part but yes definitely need another

It’s amazing what Hasbro did with this cyclops body mold. The mold looks amazing, even though it’s just a slight tweaking of the Vulcan body mold. If I wasn’t told otherwise, I’d think it was a new mold. Definitely something they need to do more often.

*This is not the vulcan body. Chest and abs, Arms and legs are different. I think this is a whole new body.

This is the Cyclops figure I've wanted the most. The Cassaday Astonishing costume is my favorite and I'm so glad this version used a different mold, which I think it fits him even better. I also love that Hasbro didn't body paint him (like the 2013 version) and instead they actually sculpted the gold details on his costume (including those from the boots). This is just a beautiful figure.
Robo was able to pull the optic effect out (& put it back in) the visor. You may be able to put optic blast effects from other Cyclops figures or 3rd party effects.
I'm SO excited for this one! Also other reviewers have figured out that the red area is removable and the older optic blast effects can be put in them but don't fit exactly. Hopefully updated X-Factor or Byrne era figures are not far behind this guy, as well as the rest of the Astonishing team.
As someone who is concerned with the height, this looks good! I love how well your eye catches on the little details

Holy moley! What a great looking figure! I can't wait to get mine in hand.
I'm hoping they can retool this to redo the xmen schism/AvX look (with the gold bands and the 3 lines on the shoulder). That is my favorite look for him and that'd be a perfect figure.
This looks really good though and it's amazing how much unique sculpting can elevate a figure. I'd buy way more Legends if they all turned out this good.

Definitely loving the reception of this figure so far, makes me excited to get mine! Honestly, even though most of my core X-Men display is Jim Lee 90s looks, this might have to be my main Cyclops... Just one of my favorite looks and great posing on top of that, with the cool post-blast sizzle. Just a shame he wasn't PERFECT (by my standards) by including some blast-effects, especially since the red of the visor already comes out pretty easily (according to Fwoosh's review and your pinned comment).

Man, I was really hoping that you would do a head swap with the House/Powers of X Cyke to see if maybe you could finagle the head to some how work properly. And was hoping since they’re both Navy Blue that maybe they’d have basically the same color. And then you could use the head and Optic Blast from that figure.
Aaahhhh I was looking to see if someone would suggest this! I know I'm kinda late but I just got this figure and the first thing I did was swap out the head sculpts wit House of X. I think they fit pretty good (a lil loose) but its cool to have 3 different options of head sculpts and blast affects can be used for both also

The Astonishing Cyclops in Bucky Cap mold was from the updated design when Simone Bianchi was the artist and Warren Ellis wrote Astonishing X-Men Ghost Boxes. Love the review, kinda bias as Cycke’s my all time fave.
The visor/optic blast can be pulled out at least on the fwooshes, not sure if that was a factory error though.
Super late to this but i call that Cyclops with the banded boots the "Schism" or "Second Coming" Cyclops

It’s the best figure of the wave for me. It’s also the only one i want to get because im not a huge x-men fan but i do want the essential characters
Ordered mine from Amazon and got it in the mail yesterday and it's one of my new Marvel Legends figures to play with. The piece on the visor does come off btw.
Do you know if it is blast effect compatible? I have the blast effect from the xmen 97 cyclops.

The Vulcan body was too tall for Vulcan, but it was the perfect height for cyclops. This body being shorter is so stupid... Still looks like a good figure anyway...
I'd call the puck wave Cyclops Utopia era Cyclops. But he did wear that costume all the way until avengers vs xmen

Great new figure , it really stands out with the golden lines being done well in his outfit, another good figure for this good old Scoot Summers / Cyclops . Would love to see another version of him without the visor and hood as it was done in Hickman and Cassaday’s run on astonishing.
Looking foward to this figure but I wish it would of came with another head that didn't have the effect in the eyes.

Seeing this guy really makes me want a true Astonishing Wolverine with the accurate colors, non heated claws, and comic accurate shoulders.

I LOVE the Joss Whedon Astonishing X-Men run so much to the point I pre-ordered Scott & Emma in no time. And I'm mostly a DC reader. Hopefully Hasbro makes Peter,Kitty,Hank & Logan soon.

Though I too am sad we didn’t get the Brood Cyclops comparison, I’m happy you gave us the heads up at the beginning. Some things are always bound to slip our minds one way or another.
I don't know about my Cyclop's left arm as I haven't received it yet. But my Gambit's left arm popped off from that latest 3 pack with Banshee and Psylocke.

Yeah the old figure is the x-men schism/AvX outfit. God I hated those storylines, but Cyclops has almost always had a great outfit.

While the figure is not bad, this is bad when you put him next to Corsair, they should be at the same height, I was thrill about the update of Cyclops with the new mold, but with the changes, he is even shorter than Bucky Cap mold. Not the best idea of Hasbro. Seems like this wave is in a different scale.

Great figure but as usual Cyclops is too short. Scott Summers (6'3") is supposed to be taller than Cap. I have modded a few of my Cyclops figures to be taller and they look way better. That Beast scales great too! The new one is great but he's way too tall. Also, I switched this Cyclops head with a previous release. This one suffers from big head syndrome far more than that Ultimate Cap.
Not keen on just having a powered headed, same with the X-Factor one
