Wow! I just went on your CZcams page and watched your video. What a beautiful house you’re building ❤️. Had I seen your house before I started mine..? I would have stolen all your styles 😅

This is impressive! After years of working, sustain your family, you both were still able to come up with such a beautiful home in Liberia!! Very impressive. I am really proud of you. I know for sure I got a room in a home whenever I decide to visit Liberia. Thank you and God bless. Love you both...❤️🙏
Congratulations to you and your family and best wishes. Is there any reason why the pitch of the roof is so high? Previously in Liberia most homes had a 1:3 roof pitch. I now see a steeper pitch. I also see the steep roof pitch in designs from other African countries.
My purpose is aerodynamic and ample ventilations. The further the pitch of the roof is away from the lintel , the better the air flow. Thus making your A/C to work as little as possible.
@@mkeita100 Exactly. Put ventilation to exterior up there and you'll be much more comfortable. The solar heating on the roof will just fill the entire under roof space with extremely hot air pushing down and infiltrating living spaces.
1:3 is usually done to save material. The steep the pitch the better. Only thing is this will increase the velocity of water coming off and will require very heavy grade gutters. However with the massive rains in LIB it could be best to give up on roof mounted gutters and place angle concrete slab on ground all the way around the house that slide into gutter on ground and carry to river. Don't underestimate the volume, it will be huge and sustained.
My problem is that we Liberians are not planning our buildings... There is not Urban planning yet in our country... As someone hailed from Bong & Margibi counties we Need to Urban plan our Lands .
First thing I said wow! What a big house……then I saw how close to the water you are can that be an issue with flooding? Are there alligators in the water? New to your channel will subscribe.
Does not have a general bathroom?guess have to go in the master bedroom to use the restroom or what?no outside bathroom in the house? I didn’t see that part but very gorgeous house.

Hi Mr. Quist! thanks for watching 😅 I can't tell where you're from ,for this video to have any benefit to you. Our purpose is to encourage other great liberians around the world that we need to build or rebuild our country, after the devastations caused by the civil war. The ghanians have done it, and their country was in a lot worst shape than ours.
My house plan is unique to myself and so is the size. that's why I'm not putting any costs breakdown on TV. No two houses are the same. Furthermore, the vacillating prices in the market place may not be taken into consideration. The estimate on the roof , aluminum zinc was a prime example. we bought half last week and the following was different price!

Beautiful design love it. Downsides : the house is too short. You do not turn your back on Liberian contractors. They don’t know any better. What they learned 200 years ago have not been upgraded. You’d be forgiven if you look at it from the aerial view overlooking the roof top, which tends to give you a bird’s eye view, thus making the house shorter. 16 coarses is plenty high @ 10 and half feet of interior space.
