- V12 Definitely impressed us and in our comparison we will be looking at the subtle and not so subtle differences between the old V11 (11.4.9) and the new V12 (12.3.3) software! Don't forget to subscribe and give us a thumbs up if you found our video helpful.

What are your first impressions of this comparison (V11 vs V12)? We'd love to know your thoughts in the comments below!
been waiting for you to get it.
Thanks Elyas! Took a while, but it’s finally here. Hoping to get more rides done in the next few days. 🙏🏽
Glad you got the update!
Can't wait to see the Downtown testing.
New sub! Thanks for the drive. On this drive, do you feel this is new version is better or a regression or both?
Thanks for subscribing! On this drive, it definitely felt like it was a step in the right direction. The decisions the car made felt more calculated, except for the last part. Will be pushing the system in the next couple videos.
It will get there!
For sure!
I appreciate seeing the direct comparisons where I can see why v12 is a huge step up. It’s more apparent with how v11 is robotic compared to 12 like with the way it stops at the stop sign. V11 stops at the pinpoint no matter what speed it is, while on v12, it stops in a pace like a human driver would
Thank you so much! Glad you noticed the differences as well.
Need to improve auto speed, goes way over speed limit too many times. Mine is such as 67 to 72 in a 55mph. Can not change speed when in auto, such as school zone speed change.
Yes! That’s so true. They need to also factor in time of day as well (I.e. right two lanes closed from 7am to 6pm, etc. and construction zones )
Did it convince you to get fsd? Either it is 199$ a month or 12k$?
They already have FSD
We already purchased it but if we didn't, honestly, I would only try out the free trial for now. I might be swayed to subscribe for a month where we do a lot of road trips, but for now, I wouldn't buy it outright.
It s 99$ a month now :)
Was 100X more impressed with V12.3 then 12.3.3. I went 10 days with 0 interventions on 12.3, 12.3.3 it has regressed and is making many more mistakes, is timid where 12.3 really was almost perfect. I think they turned the cautionary settings up to 10 since this is what they decided to give for free 30 days instead of 12.3 which went to early adopters. I typically notice the first release of any main new branch is typically the best
Regressions with the latest and greatest software?
So the programmers and engineers working on FSD are not *walking* *on* *water* ? Hah!
Full autonomy is still a LONG ways off. FSD currently is a barely Level 2 driving assistant.
There will be no full autonomy until every car on the road can speak to each other for safety. V12 is light years ahead of V11 but very disappointed as V12 initial release i went a few hundred miles with zero interventions. It was to the point i actually forgot the car was driving it was so human like. Then i installed 12.3.3 and in a 20 mile drive it blew two solid red lights, didn’t signal for two highway exits, didn’t move from multiple empty 4 way stop signs and was acting confused. Tomorrow i will recalibrate the cameras as all the other .3 videos I’ve been seeing while worse then the initial v12 release are nothing like my experience
@@kottuning3294You could be right, intra-car communication and synchronization will be needed for full autonomy. And none of the current Teslas or other EVs will support that.
But who is going to pay for that? 280 million registered vehicles in America. And many Americans don't even have 1000 dollars for an unexpected expense that pops up.
Many people think: if FSD cannot be trusted and must be *100* *percent* monitored for every second, then what is the point? Easier and safer to just drive the car yourself.
Well considering they forced every mfg to install backup cameras for safety, this could be some mandate in the future as well if it becomes popular enough. I can tell you for the 12k Tesla charges now it’s really only for big techies. The system does function better then any other mfgs implementation especially since it works on vision only with radar or hd maps. Mercedes drive pilot will be first actual l2 autonomous system in the US as they’ve accepted responsibility for any accidents. But max i think is 40mph with crazy caveats so again while you can watch a movie there’s tons of other restrictions. I guess only time will tell and we’ll all have to just wait and see
@@kottuning3294Backup cameras cost pretty much nothing, compared to the cost of hardware and software for full autonomy and intra-car communication systems!
280 million cars in America, that would be a very expensive mandate.
I'm a big techie, and I know enough about programming and electronics to NOT trust the Level 2 FSD beta software with my life.
Do you really think people are asking for Self Driving? I think it is pushed hard by Uber and Tesla, for their own gain.
😍
Watching the visualization i see why you disingaged but i don t think it would have touched the curb
Didn’t want to take that chance 😅
@@spicytech To be fair 12.3.3 does have a bad record around curbs
No one should be able to use versions of FSD that is lower than the highest release version. The reason should be obvious.
It was more to show my parents how a software update on a 2year car can have substantial improvements.
🥳❤💢💥💫👍👍👍
