We ordered new wood pins that took forever to arrive, thanks to the Rona, and once we started using them they immediately started de-laminating, leaving flakes all through the machines! These pins might be the answer to that problem. I'm happy to see that the GSX system has gotten rid of that terrible ball wheel that scarred up my new ball!
Our bowling alley got brand new wood pins and they immediately started to de-laminate and left coating chunks and shavings in the machines. Many pins broke! Huge investment in those and they turned out to be crap! Hopefully these new pins are far better!
They don’t sound like pins just like synthetic lanes don’t sound like real wood lanes. I can understand the need for synthetic materials though. There’s only so much wood. For decades now, railroads have been slowly replacing oak crossties with concrete ones. The cost is murderous but they’re projected to last for a century. I wonder if these synthetic pins will be recyclable?
They look like a hybrid of some Brunswick features and AMF, mainly the ball returns. They have eliminated the pin wheel with an elevator but the upper rack loads almost identical to AMF

He mentioned he’s the lead** mechanic so it’s definitely Wamesit. Only 3 alleys have GSX machines in Massachusetts and one of them is an entertainment center (apex) and the other is far from Wamesit (Wonderbowl New Bedford). Hanscom has it too but that doesn’t really count since it’s an Air Force Base alley and you need special permission to bowl
@@paulwest8185 Well what’s interesting is that Massachusetts is the only state that has both Tenpin, Duckpin, and Candlepin. However MA only has a couple of bowling alleys with Duckpins.

Hey someone mentioned that you refurbished or used to work with later model candlepin pinsetters, like a Z4? Is that a refurbished Bowl Mor model D? I'm thinking about opening a candlepin bowling place in Texas and I need to find information on late model pinsetters, Thanks.
Maybe I should get these pins for my dream mall Bowling Center. If only the mall management would agree on buying 24 or 28 GS-NXT's. They used to have 24 GS-92's since 2004 until the mall burned down in 2017.

The place I bowl at uses gsx machines and Twister pins, the scoring has gone up a bit but with these plastic pins, the bounces are crazy, even more so if you whip a 28 mph 8 pounder down there! 😆
Brunswick hasn’t even released them on their website. Wamesit Lanes my guess is a test facility for Brunswick as they’ve listed Wamesit under their top recommended alleys to bowl at. You’ll have to be patient until Brunswick fully released them.

Brunswick Maxes and Scorekings were great pins but their reliability is terrible, you couldn’t go beyond 4 years without losing the wood pin sound and the pin carry. In fact Brunswick wood pins were now made by QubicaAMF and its no suprising that AMFlite 2 pins can wear out easily

They look pretty nice overall. I wonder if the crowns glow in "real red" like the striped Twisters do. Cool video! Should post more like this! :)
