    This current US squad is very immature, emotional, and has zero focus. Berhalter is trying so hard to be friends with a group of 20 year olds instead of being the adult and checking them on their unorganization. They need an adult that adults. Also, they need someone that knows the game.

    • @scottsmith8381
      @scottsmith8381 Před 14 dny +3

      I could not agree more. You can have a coach who looks after his or her players, defends them publicly, but still command respect, not just be a friend. This what Klopp was great at, he was a leader that his players loved, but he was never simply a friend to them.

  • @christopherperez9666
    @christopherperez9666 Před 14 dny +36

    I think notion of mentioning Steve as a possible coach for USMNT this early, is exactly the small beer attitude that keeps the men's side back. It's so safe and spinless and plays exactly into what the USSF is all about. So for the love of God go big or stop talking about US Mens soccer transcending anything, because it isn't happening with small town ambition like that.

    • @lavs8696
      @lavs8696 Před 14 dny

      so then who would be realistic that isn't "small beer" attitude? Klopp isnt coming, because he's not American, he can get MUCH more money elsewhere, and this opportunity has much more downside than upside. It's not a very attractive job. It will only attract managers that want to prove themselves, and not ones that are already proven. that's the reality

  • @JVEdits1
    @JVEdits1 Před 14 dny +10

    The idea that coaching isn't important in the international game is laughable. There are way too many examples of a coach coming into an underperforming national team and getting the best out of them. And tactics do matter, 22 WC US vs NED is oerfect example. Gregg got outcoached and couldn't make simple adjustments. Dutch were literally laughing at how poor US tactics were.

  • @wizarddragon
    @wizarddragon Před 14 dny +10

    what do you mean we didn't give Gregg Berhalter a chance? He has had this team play below their level for 6 years. He shouldn't have ever got the opportunity because he wasn't even qualified to manage this team.

  • @aahmed29
    @aahmed29 Před 14 dny +18

    I honestly don't understand why they keep appointing this guy? US soccer is unbelievable! Out of all the coaches, they found this guy? Why?

    • @davidmilko816
      @davidmilko816 Před 13 dny +1

      "Out of all the coaches, they found this guy? Why"...its actually very simple. Jay Berhaulter & former USMNT teammates of Gregg did the initial hiring in 2019. This was nepotism and old boy's club dealing at it's finest. After 2022 and the Reyna family situation there was an overcast of toxic fall-out so they tailored the interview questions and the data analysis to favor Gregg. Rehired him and proclaimed to the world that he was the candidate that best matched the criteria in a self fulfilling prophesy.
      We've spent 9-18 months and we've seen a regression of the players and the team...so USSF can't just rubber stamp it again. They have to get someone with real experience (sorry Dolo you don't meet the requirement yet) and a real agenda and strategy instead of Gregg's Vibes, and comradery BS.

  • @scottsmith8381
    @scottsmith8381 Před 14 dny +8

    I dissagree that international is entirely players only. Against Netherlands, GB played into the Dutch hands. Bring in a guy like Klopp, who brought Pulisic to Dortmund would command immediate respect. He woul demand aggressiveness and players would have no cover of a weak coach, and would be forced into aggression.

  • @InternationalScoop

    Hold on, the international game is not about tactics or the system? I have to question if you've been watching the USMNT closely these last 5 years. Do you not recall players early on saying how the system was complicated? That particular players weren't brought into camps because they weren't familiar with the system? That it would take them a few camps and qualifying windows to be able to figure it out? It's a large part of the problem. The system should be built around the player pool, not the opposite. And Berhalter loves his system for as toothless and predictable as it is.

    Concerns:
    Failing to run up the goals v Bolivia
    Conceding goals v Panama with a red card. US should be scoring more goals even with 10 men.
    No strategy v Uruguay who didn't even try. Signaling 1 1.
    It's in these situations that the manager' ability shows. He failed to step up. Was more about mentality.
    Also, USA team is missing a target man. Doesn't need to have crazy ability. Look at Weghorst for Netherlands. That's the model US need to go with.

    It’s hard to ignore this Copa America run. We have amazing footballers though seeing them on the pitch at times just scrambling around and shooting at goal with no clear game plan, seemed like a mess of a coaching strategy.
    It felt like everyone on the pitch were playing for themselves and many times no one synced with each other at all for possible scoring runs. Every team that went against the USMNT just played better team football, It was that easy. Pass, pass and pass and they got through, knowing that the USMNT were just not playing as a team. It was hard watching some of the players I’ve seen in the Bundesliga, EPL Serie A and even the MLS play at such a terrible pace and performance.
    It’s time. We need new blood in the coaching staff to play at a new level that the USMNT have to play at if they want to keep up with what we are seeing in today’s football.
    Each national team we went against in our group prove that very clearly and loudly.

    Berhalter is full drama. Should have been kicked out when Gio and his dad bullied him into letting him on the team.
    He’s compromised, and he sucks as a coach.

    stop blaming Tim Weah. He isn't the reason why this team is soft and can't compete on a big stage. USA Soccer is run like a Fairfield county travel team. Feel bad for Berhalter?!? FOH he was never good enough to begin with and never worthy of the position. And keep Jurgen Klopp out of your mouths. Why on Earth would Jurgen Klopp waste his time and tarnish his legacy managing this clusterfuck of a soccer program?
