Good afternoon Steven. Thanks for the mention. Look forward to the first use video with the Osmo Action 4, and the sound of Mustang Sally.
I promise I will get out to film with Mustang Sally as soon as I can! Thank you again for your advice on cameras.
Hi Steven, good rant! 😁👍 so true about your points on armour and speeds,
The DJI camera looks a good option going by the reviews,
My HERO 10s are as high as i will go with Go Pros as 11 and 12s are 4K and i prefer 1080 as that is as good enough a quality vs upload speed and memory space 4K takes up on the pc,
Once my two cams need replaced i will prob go the DJI option 😁👍👍
Good to have a chat the other evening! And will get you more train footage from the garden 😁👍
Now this illustrates my point about expectations versus reality, we have cameras that will allow 4K recording, but very few people actually view content in 4K, and I’d wager, probably wouldn’t notice the difference anyway. I can’t really tell the difference, especially when I don’t have my distance glasses on. So, it’s another instance of manufacturers duping us into paying extra for things we don’t want or need…. As for GoPro, I just find it a bit of a faf and going by others experience, DJI seems to be the way to go. Also, most people I speak to don’t bother with anything higher quality than 2.7K anyway. Yes, it was nice to catch up on everything the other night!
ahh you tease Steven! Looking forward to seeing your ride video, good to run it in a bit first anyway I guess. You've certainly sold me on a cam already, I'll probably wait till the end of the year so I can get used to the J series as it is and then enjoy the upgrade. Be good to see that camera too, you've anticipated my upcoming camera expose and rant video haha my cat did not appreciate the hiss!
Yes, Bugsy decided to be a bit of a diva as he wasn’t centre of attention! I will look forward to your video!
Hi Steven, I gave up on GoPro a few years ago, I got tired of losing footage because the cameras crashed. I've just upgraded to a DJI Action 4 from the original Osmo Action and its a significant improvement, I'm sure you'll be happy with it. I agree with sensible speed limits, including 20mph, in built up areas and dangerous sections of road. However 20mph limits on roads with very little traffic or habitation as we have in parts of Scotland at the moment are ridiculous, even in Wales they're restricted to town centres and residential streets. Cheers, Mick
Yes, this was my point exactly with speed limits, there are places where speed is ok, but many places where it’s prudent to slow down. Of course, age and experience teaches you the difference. As for the DJI Action 4, I have also just bought a remote control and a mic adapter. The remote is going to make my life a lot easier.
Hope you are keeping well and safe and warm!
Thanks Steven, keeping the fire stoked is almost a full time job in December, January and February up here. In fact chopping and carting the wood and clearing the snow does a good job of keeping me warm anyway. You're very sensible wearing thermals in the house, much cheaper than paying for heating 😁
Its a pity we missed your ride but there'll be plenty of good riding days soon so no need to rush out in bad weather, I had to wait two weeks before I got a chance to ride to Thurso and the weather's been rubbish again since. Cheers, Mick
Hello there Steven, it's good to see you deciding to persevere with DJI. I for one have a lot of time for their products, but I have to say that my own reason for choosing their camera to begin with, is my naturally contrary nature...... I tend to refuse to go the route of the masses!
A good entertaining mutter/rant btw, and stay safe. Cheers 👍
I’m glad you enjoyed my mutterings! I just wanted to say a few things that I thought should be said. I’m sure a lot of people often think these things but for some reason don’t say it out loud. Equally I’m sure that many will disagree with me, but they are free to comment accordingly. I hope you are well, I was starting to wonder as we haven’t seen you lately! 🤣 (I thought you had gone into deep hibernation like my friend Billy the Yeti!)
Yes, it's good to hear someone addressing issues like that, I just wish I could gather my thoughts in a similar manner! 🤔😊
I must admit that I've had a few domestic priorities over the last few weeks, but hopefully I'm in a position to get back on track, so to speak, having spent a bit of time exploring deepest Fillingham-shire, and hopefully sorting out some technical woes.
I look forward to seeing the results of the Kent Camshaft anyway. All the best Steven. 👍
@@martintraffordmoorlandbike7121 well, I am in a position to tell you that it was definitely mission accomplished with the camshaft! Horsepower (subject to a dyno test at a later date) suggests around 25 HP at the rear wheel and maybe 28 at the crank. This is based on an estimate from one of the engineers at Hitchcock’s. They haven’t yet test the configuration I have used, but they did test the configuration that Tiger Ness used. (Intake plate, decat pipe and cam.) it was his experience that prompted me to go ahead with my plan! Overtaking is now swift and safe at legal road speeds, whilst preserving the good manners the bikes have straight from the crate. It’s just that now when you need extra torque, it is there. It should also make hill climbs much easier too, but as yet I have not done that. The exhaust note is slightly altered, but in a 1960s single cylinder charming sort of way. Anyway, once I can get out I will be covering all of this in the video. It now performs almost exactly like the Bullet 500 in most road conditions! Shows how good the new J engines can be when fettled properly.
Leathers trousers saved me a lot pain about 10yrs ago I was only doing 20mph I’ve been riding 40yrs
Yes I agree they are good, but when I started riding, we couldn’t afford them for general purpose riding, so a couple of layers of stout trousers had to do.
Hi Steve I find nothing wrong at all with the GoPro I’m using I don’t like the action 4 had one to much messing around to get the sound gain right and the true colour of the footage
I’ve got the fun of adjustment to come! 😂
@@TheNorfolkThunderbolt hi Steve your soon get used to it hope your keeping well 👍🏍️🙏
