    And the winner is.... CZ P07. Then again I am a little biased being that I own the CZ P07 Duty.
    The P07 definitely feels better in the hand, Having said that, I shoot both of these pistols quite well.

    I also own both of these fire arms. The only thing I would say that was not said in the video is that with the P-07, "being a hammer gun", you have the capability to pull the trigger a 2nd time in the event of a primer fail. Thanks for the review.

    I Love my P-07. Might look ugly, and weird, but it definitely has that robust not afraid to be fired kind of look. As soon as you pick it up and shoot it a couple of times you come love the way it cycles thru all your ammo. It's not perfect, but it isn't afraid to compete with pistols twice the price. Feels disposable compared to expensive pistols, however I would never trade it or get rid of it. In a SHTF scenario I wouldn't think twice to grab it and go. Feels like quality, finesse, and heavy duty at the same time. I own quite a few pistols, and I like them all for different reasons, but this one feels like a beast of a tool.

      Why would you want to carry your P07 in a Glock holster? rather buy good quality Kydex holster specifically molded for your gun. No risk of ND. Theres no point in spending $500 + on a pistol and then wanting to save money on a holster. You can get Kydex IWB/OWB holsters for as little as $40

    The CZ P-07 is, to me, a very ugly and even goofy looking pistol upon first sight. But when you pick it up and handle it, everything seems to make sense. The grip feel, the pointing angle, the low-profile sights, the controls, the trigger guard undercut, the bore height, the short-throw DA pull....it just really feels good. Then you look at the price, and you realize what a great value the pistol is.
    And then it suddenly isn't so ugly. ;-D

    Both are great guns (own both) but seem to like the P07 a bit more. It may be that I like hammer fire or the fact that the CZ just feels better in you hand. Either way, the purchase of one or the other will make you happy. Since I purchased my first CZ, I was kind of hooked. Seems when I'm out at the range, people ask about it (CZ). A few of my friends have purchased them as well, and they too seem to shoot them more often than their glocks (although a few will die before they admit it).
    I think if you are looking for a multi purpose hand gun, you would do yourself justice to shoot both and make your decision. It will probably depend on the Hammer fire and if you like that feature as the accuracy is about the same (VERY GOOD).
    Thanks for the side by side review. Nicely done and very well thought out without making judgment.

    Good review, but remember, regarding the 1.18" vs. 1.46", you're comparing apples to oranges a little bit. In other words, the 1.18" on the Glock is the width of the slide only, but the frame bulges out (which is the true width of the pistol). Likewise, correct me if I'm wrong, but the CZ is the same thickness in both slide and frame, and I believe that 1.46" includes the controls. So to sum it up, if you took some calipers and measured the actual frames the difference would be a little less than these specs would suggest.

    The Glock is legendary. I have no complaints with the reliability or shootability. However, I sold my 19 and got a TriStar C 100. I don't really trust the striker pistols with no safety anymore. Hammer DA/SA all the way for me now. When a jacket toggle getting stuck in the trigger housing can cause the weapon to fire, that is too sensitive for me. As Harry said - "A man's gotta know his limitations". My next polymer will be the P 07 or the XDe.

  • @Treblaine
    @Treblaine Před 9 lety +1

    I can see a flavour difference. P-07 design has a slide riding inside the frame so it has a smaller slide surface area relative to the glock so not so good for "power stroking", but on the other hand a much more prominent slide-release.
    So what's your preference? Better emphasis on slide-release or power stroking?
    P-07 seems to be a more involved pistol, with the variable DA/SA with a decocker, and how you may need to switch up your muscle memory on cycling the weapon if for some reason the slide doesn't lock back. That's the advantage of training to power-stroke a pistol when reloading, even if the slide fails to lock back you'll load the weapon properly.
    Hard to say how much of a difference thickness makes. I suppose Glock is easier to use one handed? On the other hand it's got to e easier to reload the P-07 one handed with a better slide release.

    for me striker fired wins but as a gun the cz is better. it feels better, shoots better and in single action has a better trigger. the sights are better, mag release is better and with the money you save you can buy the extra mag and even have some left over for ammo. to get the glock to a high standard, such as a wolf barrel, talon grips, metal sights, extended mag release, extended slide stop, better trigger, you are going past $900. for that money you could get 2 p07s! or get 1 p07 and a 19 or 21 round p09. but if i had to pick one i would pick the glock because i personally prefer striker fired. so the new cz p10c will easily beat both of these.

      +Scott Gendreau I have had the chance to shoot a P320 but it was a full size and more comparable to the P-09. I do plan to pick up a P320 compact in the future as I did enjoy shooting the full size and I think the compact would be the perfect size. I liked the ergonomics on the pistol but I will say that CZs fit my hand just a bit better. I also like the recoil on the CZs better as they sit lower in the hand but with 9mm there isn't much recoil to begin with. I will say that the trigger on the P320 is excellent and is like a well worn in CZ trigger in single action. It was very crisp. Needless to say I liked the P320 and I don't think you could go wrong with either choice.

    @ShinobiHOG Před 8 lety

    Yeah man, I carried a glock 21 before but switched to a p07 after receiving advice from a friend who is a die hard cz fanboy. The trigger is better, all those little features like cocking serrations on the front of the slide, metal sights, feels better in the hand, etc... just edge out the glock. Everything the glock does the cz does too but there are also those minor improvements. For instance the cz can hold its big brother's the p09 mag just like the g19 can accept the g17 mag but the p09 mag holds 19 rounds. Internal slide rails and I actually like the slide stop better because it's easier to manipulate. To top all that off its cheaper than the glock. You could make the argument you'd pay the same because you have to buy another magazine to match the amount the glock comes with but most people don't carry two spare mags, I do though. From what I see the p09 and p07 is he's bid to compete with glock as well as gain popularity in the American marketplace. I think glock has a lot to worry about. I would be ecstatic is cz came out with a polymer gun chambered in .45acp. The glock 30 is really the only glock I want because of that factor. I see value in having a .45acp in your personal arsenal but I'd still carry 9mm as my edc.....

    G19s are good guns, but they are not my faves, I’ve noticed with the 10 round mags, if you have crap ammo, you better really SLING SHOT the slide’ or you will get a Double feed or fail to feed, another words, And I know this, (Do not Walk the slide!!!!!! or Short Stroke it, it will FTF! G19s are not CZ75s, CZ75s have internal rails, I can walk the slide slow, but it still loads like silk, no so with my G19 unless it has Top Quality ammo..just my 2 cents” I have made my CZ75 D compact PCR my primary 9mm

    yes, he's ambiguous in his likes. but he says I'm a CZ fan, but i wouldn't nock glock. I THINK THAT IS THE MOST DEFINITIVE THING HE SAID .
    i own PO7 , never even considered a Glock lol . if u have a POZ , and are thinking about a glock . Your're not going to be upgrading that's for sure. and your not going to say the Glock is a better choice when basics are considered imho . Glock changes are trying to catch up to what CZ has been doing for years imho.

      Chady, only on the original Duty model. The later generation "2014" model dropped capacity to 15 in 9mm, along with the external changes.

    i have both, the 2 are hardly comparable. g19 is hands down is my choice. the cz is fun yeah nice trigger whatever. train with your gun. either way the cz usually works but does have the occasional malfunction. g19 runs all day long. if im going to ring steel for fun yeah ill bring the cz. but when its concealed carry and a time I might need a handgun for serious use its the g19 all day.

      mattr918 I'm assuming your basing this off a matter of opinion being that GLOCK has had it's issues in the past. Although Glock is reliable and has a proven track record I believe that either gun are worthy of being dependable when one's life is threatened.

    The only reason the Glock is a good firearm is because the magazines are cheap. Everyone else is $30-$40 per mag.
