  • This composition from the Best of Jugalbandi series brings together two doyens of Hindustani classical music - Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt and Ronu Majumdar as they interpret Raga Gorakh Kalyan. The widely acclaimed creator of the Mohan Veena and Grammy Award winner, Pandit Vishwa Mohan has mesmerized the world with his music that is at once pure, delicate and yet powerful. One of the foremost disciples of Pandit Ravi Shankar, Pandit Vishwa Mohan belongs to that elite school of musicians which traces its origin to the great Tansen and even further to his guru, Swami Haridas. Ronu Majumdar is a force to reckon with in the realm of Indian classical music both as a thinking musician and scintillating performer. A powerhouse performer, Ronu Majumdar is firmly rooted in the Maihar gharana which has also given shape to sturdy musical oaks like Pt. Ravi Shankar and Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. Ronu Majumdar’s Bansuri is transcendental and transports you to a zone where divinity reigns supreme. Listen to these two masters interpret Raga Gorakh Kalyan.

Maihar Gharana produced sturdy musicians, not only Pandit Ravi Shankar and Ustad Ali Akbar Khan but Pandit Nikhil Banerjee also among others. Today hardly anyone knows his name but listeners know that his name should come as a Maihar produce

@@nik5129 Don't mention incorrect info when you don't know shit about it. Ustad Alauddin Khan Saheb was the founder of Maihar Gharana and Guru of his own daughter Annapurna Devi and Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia was a student of Annapurna Devi
