This why people shouldn't take for granted the amazing inventions we have today. It took many mistakes (and lives) to get to the technology that we have today.
People dont take for granted as helicopters were around a very long time before this stupid attempt.
I think if properly done, planned, and safely prepared, this could’ve been prevented. Which is also why many who wish to follow their dreams should not skip over the correct safety precautions. So unnecessary loss of life like this doesn’t happen.
@@TheDreamN it was not engineered right. Part of the tailrotor seperated (likely due to a strength issue, those blades are under phenomenal stress) and then hit the mainrotor which caused a complete destruction of the entire system since that is a LOOOOT of kinetic energy there.
Even worse is that it was nearing failure already before the tailrotor: You can see the mainrotor with an increasing vibration up and down which is BAD. The balancing of those system is incredibly tight and time consuming and had the tail rotor not gone, the main rotor would have very shortly.
Now tell us how smart he was for doing this in the dark.
@@TheDreamNAviation demands the highest levels of precision and expertise. Without proper education and access to advanced technology, attempting to build a helicopter is incredibly hazardous. To the India, specifically, of the 1350s. @@HeretixAevum the language is so biased in bad faith. nobody makes a technology knowing they're making a groundbreaking technology, it's f around and find out with trials and errors. The real concern was safety. Otherwise, It's an engineer's job is to make things suited for a purpose, including cost-effectiveness.
Watching the video, i could see that there's to much wobble on the main blade. Which tell me, the rotor is not properly balance. So even if he could get this thing off the ground, then entire flying machine will end up rolling over the side. The next is, does this Heli has CCPM or Cyclic Collective Pitch Mixing? CCPM Assembly and operation is not easy to do. Even for experience Heli Builders. Now the rotor thrust is made through adjusting of the rotor blade pitch. And in the case of Main rotor blade it has to be synchronized correctly with how fast the rotor is rotating. I build RC Aeromodel Scale aircraft, and the hardest that i find to build is the Heli. The reason for this, is there too many point of failure compared to fix wing aircraft. I have mate who is an experience full size aircraft pilot. And he'll tell you that it requires long flying accreditation if he has to fly and heli. Let alone build one. So yes this fellow purpose is good. But before you embark on a long journey you need to start with small step. And in his case, investing time, effort and some money on building an professional RC Heli is a good start.
Looks like the back blades just disintigrate becouse of the fast rpm and poor quality material choices and then some of the parts hit the main rotor blades.
Amen! I am a degreed engineer with over 20 years of experience designing General Aviation aircraft. There is a reason why only a handful of successful rotorcraft companies exist in the world. Rotorcraft are one of the most complex means of flight known to man. And fatally unforgiving of even the slightest mistakes. Even well engineered vehicles require constant expert maintenance or they can quickly become death traps.
It's one thing to pursue a dream. I get that. I've successfully accomplished that. But it is a shame that someone more knowledgeable was not able to talk this kid out of this pursuit and offer him a job learning his craft at a reputable company before striking out on his own.
I've built a couple of RC 450 size CCPM heli kits and also flown them for years. The amount of time it took just to have a basic grasp of things was hours and hours of research alone.. Then you have to build, balance, adjust, and slowly but surely test and tweak everything just to get a a good stable hover. Heli's are no joke.. Even with the RC ones there is no room for error and I can't imagine the undertaking of making a manned heli from scratch.

So terrible. So sorry for him and his family😥
Without men like him giving his life to innovation mankind would he no where, R.I.P another of humanity's great gone
People like him never die but passed into legends with a legacy that inspires coming generations. Salute to him

Naah one week.. And he will be forgotten..
@ not by intellectuals ♥

@ might forget his name but will remember that someone from my country tried building helicopter with noble cause and died.
Despite his educational qualification he went far beyond. He dreamed, he tried, he almost achieved it.
Maybe he did not have enough resource to make his creation safer but I salute him. These are the people who teach other to dream big.
I agree and it’s ashame to happen to such a young person with a dream
He makes me not want to dream if that's how it's going to end.
He didn’t almost achieve it he just straight up died 😭
He should have graduated
It was an accident it happens
huge respect for this aspiring engineer.
Poor young man! My heart goes out for him😢
He wanted to launch it on independence day!! such a patriot... you're an inspiration brother. R.I.P
So sad
If history tells one thing that making a flying Vehicle has killed a lot of Courageous brilliant men. I genuinely hope someone pick this up and complete this kids dream.
Yeah
What difference does it makes builiding a helicopter ? You need to attend flight school to operate one , Why bothering completing an ild project work for something new
@@virusgaming6420 average nerotypical
@@virusgaming6420 Dude It was not about building a Helicopter Which is already there, the Idea was to make it affordable. Now that makes his Idea different... And not everyone has funds to attend flight school. A basic Helicopter price in India is upwards of 5 Crores. Imagine if someone can make it for less than 5 lac....Now that is innovation.
Naah they're too busy scamming other people lol
Rest in Peace brother😢
My Heart with you brother...RIP..
He died trying to achieve his dream, this is really appreciatable.
No school, No college, nothing fancy just a patriotic dream and years of hardwork ....hats off. Inspired alot , Maybe GOD wants you. R.I.P brother. 🙏

Need school to understand G force
All those "heart broken" comments, but not too many about *safety* .
A simple helmet and a seat belt would've saved him his life😐
Yup, lets just be heart broken and move on to a nice breakfast next morning 😉
What’s patriotic here, you seem to be carried away

Yes u are right bro👍
OH WOW!!!
I guess a helm to protect the head is very expensive in India.
Safety is always a number 1 priority especially in handling automobile/ machinery.
He might survive if he more caution and wear safety gear

That's the Talent that is hidden in the galis and villages of India.
Salute to this guy. This guy has died but he has paved a path for many underprivileged Indians.
I think he should have discussed about the complexities and risks to any aviation expert before executing his plan. Helicopter is not a thing to build without any expertise and supervision.
Though I admire his ambitions and thoughts.
I admire his willpower everything else is secondary...
@@manishsaini9360 Do you think a person who hadn't even studied 8th would know what aviation is . I don't think so.

Let this be a lesson for all of us to wear safety equipments when doing a TEST/TRIAL RUN.
Hard to say exactly why the rotor came apart there is nothing in this video which explains what his understanding was. He was able to get it to run anything can happen. People die every month in million dollar aircraft.
@@Mike-01234 not every month.. Aviation accidents in the world are rare and are expected to not happen. Even when it happens, there would most likely be survivors. Yes there may be tragedies that happens a few times a year but that’s not normal. Hopefully it does not happen at all
@@Mike-01234 that is not the point of the comment is it now? The point is, safety is number one priority. A simple helmet can take you a long way. Ever wonder why construction workers wear them? Or why WE wear them while riding bikes and bicycles? Or why seat belts are in a car? Because safety. Of course no one takes precautions but that's on them, this accident that happened in the video is an example of that. That guy would've contributed to something amazing but unfortunately lack of safety and precaution let him to his demise.
im not disagreeing but the lesson i took away from this pertains to workmanship and not ppe. they dont make ppe to guard against helicopter rotor blades that i know of

Rip you were very brave and smart in your own league
That’s such a sad story. Building a helicopter is no easy task rip to a brave lad
Safety even while testing should always be the first priority.

Seat belt, door.
I'm not sure if a helmet can stop such an impact.
It would break the spine.
Exactly why not much is made in India. , Well, atleast he won't be doing that again
Atleast he died doing something he loved. Not a lot of us can make that same claim for ourselves. Rip brother.
Oh I die 50 times a day doing what I love - wasting time on video games
That's even more sad dude
@Rohit Mathpal well he sucks at building choppers, except head choppers
@Rohit Mathpal no matter how sucks he is, the guy had all the time building heli but cannot afford a frickin single helmet lol thats an absolute suck!
@Rohit Mathpal yeah dude, like 50 times a day I lose like once per week, he really sucks at it or he tried to make a joke there
he died with his dream , rest in peace legend 💔
It wasn’t the propeller that hit him, if you watch the video the propeller hit the frame what actually happened was the helicopter jumped left and he flew right “right into the right corner frame that you can see is pushed out after his head bent the metal // totally tragic honestly both a seat belt and a helmet and he’d be here to tell the story himself // anytime your building anything and especially if your using yourself as a test dummy have all safety precautions
You cannot imagine what this man would've given to this country with his ideas and innovation.........
Man hes such a inspiration
Does it matters ? He wouldn’t have added anything , just dropping out and working without actual sciences doesn’t take you anywhere , wake up from movie life
@@virusgaming6420 he wasn't your regular guy..........he had the motivation and dedication which 99% of people lack......... people do engineering not becoz they are genuinely interested in it.....but only because of its scope and struggle throughout their Life and career....... mostly to do MBA after engineering........
True
May be He would have become another APJ Abdul Kalam
I wish that he had installed the side doors
This is so tragic and he is an true inspiration for the upcoming engineers
1600 hrs that shows the dedication and passion
Or he/his friends could just get a safety helmet.
Thats what you get for not wearing helmet
seat belt would have been enough in this case
It would have increased the weight of the heli, making it more difficult to fly(Also, this sort of Design is really common in such ultralight helicopters). In flying machines, every gram of weight counts, though in this case, a helmet would have helped/sufficed
Same sentiments helmet and doors was supposed to be installed 3yrs of hard work but he never added a door and wore a helmet.
Brave young man. Respect ❤
My utmost repect for him. He has an immense passion for science and his country. I only wish he took safety precautions. We lost someone who could have been an incredible contributer to technological innovation .
