Yes....please let us go along with you upcycling your new little chest of drawers!!!
“I could just make that” and then never do lmaoo relatable
I love that you have an appreciation for "old things" and the stories that they tell, and see the beauty in their imperfection. Beats HomeSense stuff any day.
I am so happy to see that you got the vintage accordion lamp! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!! Great score!!!
When I saw it in the video I thought it was her style, so when Danie actually bought it, yep, It was meant to be.
"This kinda section brings me no joy" so polite😂 Your side table gives me Scottish bagpipes vibes. The colourful hanging thing, reminds me of a fish bowl and the colourful specs are fish. Love all you finds, especially that lamp!
They do look like specs of fish! Lovely imagination you have!
I'm totally into the mix of DIY, self-made from artists, antique or vintage finds ... you're such an inspiration as well as authentic, always into improving, new experiences and generally explore ... and sure, cake & coffee are with me as I watch your video. Some habits are worth it. Thanks for another lovely addition to my Saturday-mood
I’d like some cake and coffee right now! The perfect addition to a Saturday watch!
I meant the classic hanging light with the chain - lol!!
If you ever come down to Virginia, we have the Factory Antique Mall in Verona. It’s the biggest antique store in the US. It can be overwhelming, too, but it’s one story and tons of fun!
I think the dresser would look amazing if you keep the drawers as is, and paint the bod the same caramel color as your leather couch. I love the red ceramic bowl on it as it brings out the red in the drawers.. I hope I've described my vision so you can see it too 😌
My grandmother was born in the late 1800's. In her kitchen, she had that metal piece that attaches to the wall or a Hoosier cabinet and it has a spindle. She used her's to hold a spool of twine. A pair of ✂️ was tied to it. I use it now to hold a spool of cotton string in my kitchen. Perfect for tying up a stuffed rolled up roast!
The first large wooden spool shape that you held up was used in a mortar as a pestle for grinding or pounding together large amounts of spices, 🌿 herbs, fruits, meats, or veggies. They are fun items!
Liked the Gillian Anderson figure. I am looking for a Bewitched Barbie myself!
Of course we want to watch you upcycle that chest of drawers! And go get a few more of those hangers for your necklaces... those are cool!
The look on your face when you saw the wood slabs, priceless! I'd love to see refurbishment of dresser. Keeping wood drawer fronts, copper Color? Copper top? Can't wait
At first I started watching because it’s Danie, but I was thinking I was getting burned out of flea market videos all around lately. I’m glad I watched. Shopping with Danie is super fun, her personality makes shopping videos more personal and fun!
It’s like shopping with a friend
awe thank you for saying that! I try to make it as fun as possible!
That book/drawer cabinet is very cool! Of course we want to see you upcycle it. I’d love to see it in a deeper or darker green or a cream - one of the other colours from your rock wall ❤
The glass lightshade is a vintage 1930's flycatcher lightshade. I remember lots of these growing up in the UK in the 1950's, my grandmother had one in her sitting room (the posh room you were only allowed into on Sundays or Christmas)
Yes you’re right. I live in England and had a couple of these a long time ago . I was upset when I broke one soon after moving house and before I could get a ceiling rose with the special little hooks to hang it from.
I love the light fixture for your studio! Yes ma'am for accordion light and the dresser (upcycle! upcycle!). Great haul.
I'm 61 (yikes!) and I LOVE pottery, wood bowls, and baskets. In fact, I am currently downsized so much that all I own at this point is in a 5 x 10 storage unit since I am renting a fully furnished tiny apartment waiting to move to another state. The only things I cannot part with are vintage and those 3 categories of beautiful items. I love your style, Danie. Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm and sense of fun. Have a great weekend!
I’m 65 and I LOVE pottery, wood bowls and baskets! Are there self help groups or rehab? When is the next meeting?
I can so relate! Am in the midst of downsizing my home and clearing my canvas shop of machines and materials in order to relocate 1000 km. You'll inspire me to keep on keeping on! All the best.
When I saw the accordion light in the store I thought “I’d buy that if I was there”, and then you did buy it. LOVE it!👏❤️👏
Your line, “I can make that!” brought back memories….not necessarily good ones. My mother made all my clothes when I was a child. As I reached my teen years, I didn’t want ”homemade” clothes - I wanted cute things I saw at the mall. When my mom was willing to take me shopping, everything I liked was met with “I can make that.” Problem is, she never did! She made what SHE liked. My first purchase when I left home was a sewing machine. I usually made my own clothes because it was cheaper (and then I could have more for the same price). Nowadays, between my husband and I, we can make almost anything, but if I see something that speaks to me (and I can afford it), then I buy it. No remorse, no guilt. Sometimes instant gratification is the simple pleasure I need.
Danie, I think you should consider ‘hand building’ some pottery. Not to say you can’t still throw pots, but hand build in is totally in your wheelhouse and lends itself to a variety of forms. Check it out!
The receipt spike was also used for cones or balls of twine or string. You would pull the amount you needed and cut it off.
Awe you were in Woodstock, I live in Woodstock.. my husband and I love that place we've been multiple times.
Woodstock was fun!! Such a wonderful place to explore!
Also from Woodstock! I think she do a meet and greet next time she comes here.
The 1930's Art Deco lampshade would have been suspended from the ceiling as a pendant light fitting, with the brown or black dual twisted cable hanging down through the middle of the chains and a bulb nestled within the shade itself. Great finds.
Oh, my God, Danie! At the beginning of your video when you were at the mall, you rang a brass bell! That is the same one my grandmother had when I was a child. When I went to her house I would play with it. What a great memory! That flamingo wallpaper was to die for! What a great place to shop! Hugs!👍🥰💜🌷
Absolutely love the scissors lamp! What a beauty 😍
I think you should paint your new dresser like a flannel shirt🥰
I am 65 now and can really relate to visiting craft fairs and realising that I can make just about anything I see there if I wanted to. It gives me the great pleasure of buying discerning gifts for my loved ones while paying tribute to the creator. That dresser could look good in British Racing Green with IOD transfers on the drawers. Like your style.
i’m so glad you got that accordion arm wall light fixture. When you showed that on camera, the first time I thought, now that’s Danie!
I also like that old pot at the very end of the video. It looks worn/weathered, well cared for, and shows a living history behind it too!
Oh my goodness!!! The way I am wanting those black and white containers with the red handles....I had an instant need for them!
Good morning all have a blessed day
Woo-hoo shopping trip❤❤
I’m right there with you Dani regarding the signs with words on them! I hate them!
.That glass light you bought for your studio looks like a koi pond with all those orange blobs swimming around. Great haul!
"Oh, I could make that..." ALL THE TIME!! Art prints... wood working... designs... Everything and then I facepalm months or years later when I realize that I don't have the time or energy to do ALL the projects...
Of COURSE I want to see you upcycle the dresser/game cabinet on camera :D Also the accordion lamp just OMG, chef's kiss and all that jazz, perfection.
Upcycling the antique drawers.. what about graduated painted tones for the drawers? Perhaps shades of rust brown like your couch to a deep red drawer at the bottom.
Word of the day…..PERFECT! Love your enthusiasm for your purchases. Everyone should be that sure when buying items for their space.
I think you should paint the chest of drawers the shade of green in that vase you found & your rock art! That would bring that color into the space more. It would also brighten that corner up some with all the darker furniture around it.
Totally agree about the signs. I have enough things telling me what to do, I don't want to give my walls that power as well.
The chair with steampunk dog is so cool! however, i am in love with your console build. Just gorgeous!
Hi Danie, I love your chest of drawers exactly as it is, the colours are perfect, and it looks as though it’s always been in your lounge. Please don’t change it 😢.
I would love to see you up cycle the dresser! I would like to see how you change it and how it looks in the end.
Thank you for taking us shopping with you ❤️🌟❤️
I think the colors on the chest of drawers are PERFECT! Great muted olive green and an interesting red hue works great with the other colors in your living room!
I'm loving the accordion lamp!🖤
Love, love the accordion light! So glad you brought it home!
that was crazy!you did a great job of showing us around.
Haha! I *knew* you’d pick up that accordion light! Loved coming along on this shopping jaunt. Have a great weekend. ❤️
Nice finds! I particularly love the tall wood pieces, the black pottery and that expanding wall light...to die for! If you are looking for paint color ideas for the cabinet with drawers, what about leaving the drawers red to bring in more of that red color you like and painting the green part in black, but maybe a muddled charcoal black sort of like your new pottery vase.
I love your energy and fun!!! refresh yourself and get back to all the fun, we really appreciate it❤
Hope you enjoy this shopping adventure!!! So many goodies!
The replaced leg on the stool/side table makes the piece MORE valuable.
Thanks for taking us along for antique shopping. My favorite… the black pot/vase. So versatile. Shape, color, texture ❤️❤️❤️
I love the everything you brought at the antique store especially the hanging light bowl with the specks of colors that's beautiful!! Take care I really enjoy your ideas!!
When you showed the scissor lamp in the shop I thought "that would come home with me!" It will look great wherever you put it!
I was so excited to see you bought the accordion light!!
I really enjoyed this. Perfect couch/coffee/blanket/rainy day video, and what great hauls. That hanging glass will look delightful in your space.
Love All the finds! My fav is the glass hanging fixture! I knew you'd end up with the accordion lamp. Looked like such a fun adventure.
Love the glass light cover/shade!
Love this episode! Not only all the cool stuff, but seeing all the cool stuff that you like that I also love!!
The dresser and accordian light were the two things that caught my eye, so happy you got them!
Omgosh, when I saw that accordion lamp! Love it
Great haul ❤ & I absolutely love how you styled them.
Love the big antique shop it had so many beautiful items thankyou for sharing 😊
Another great video I loved the antique black extending light and the glass light cover and side table. So pretty.
That first antique mall is the best. I actually live a hop, skip and a jump away from there. Can literally see it from my front door lol. I definitely want to see the makeover of the dresser. It looks so good in that spot. What a perfect find.
I just love ❤ this channel The black pottery at the end is my absolute favorite
But I do love that you found that white blue orange piece for your space and the excitement you have for it !
I have a new appreciation for older pieces after seeing your finds, Love Love Love the light, can't wait to see you restore the hinges and hang your home! Great find!
Ummm... YES! I love following along with your upcycling!
Love the accordeon lamp and the little wooden stool with the multicolored knitted top !
Totally agree on that glass light cover and also the extension lamp. Amazing pieces!
Thanks so much! 🙌❤️
Danie I loved you got that glass light bowl. Love it. You can put hang in plants in it. 🎉 Really loved all. Great finds.
I have NO decorative sense so seeing how you find and use these pieces is an education for me. Thanks for sharing!
Love the hanging globe and the ceramic pot!
Thanks for taking us along to Woodstock! I definitely will check it out soon! 😊🇨🇦💜
Loved all the treasures, especially the black pot❤
Love, Love, Love the black acordian lamp!!! Awesome find and price! Also, laughed out loud when you "booped" the noses of the pieces in the antique mall. Thanks for making my day! 🥰
Love your energy and enthusiasm, Danie.
Love the colorful hanging light for your studio. The console is perfect there. Definitely want to see a video of you upcycling it.
Yes, would love to see your upcycle of the dresser! I LOVE it!!
So ready! ☕️🧋😊
Yee haww 🤠🙌
I love the little turquoise vase. A bunch of red roses would look beautiful in that piece.
I ❤️ the pottery, the glass light cover looks like orange goldfish are swimming around in it, and the black metal light fixture is perfect and the wonky leg table. The dresser is cool. Great finds.
Some great pieces there. That light shade with the blue, and green, and orange flecks, is just lovely. It deserves a place of pride somewhere.
I love your purchased treasures. As I was watching your video, I saw the last piece you purchased and thought, oh, I would love to have that. Then watching your haul, there it was. Probably my favourite but loved the black wall lamp and the two tall wood pieces. Everything was wonderful. Thank you.
Yes! Please show us your up cycle! I think a red would be very interesting for that console table.
I loved everything you bought too!
Love the set of drawers! Of course we want to see what you do with it!
The little brass bell you rang at the beginning of the mall was one of three my dad brought back from North Africa in WWII that my sister and I used to call for our mom when we were sick in bed.
I really enjoyed antique shopping with you and Wow the first shop was hugh!! I like all the pieces you selected - I love the colorful hanging light with the chair, so classic!!
Yes, please bring us along for the dresser upcycle! 🙌🏻🩷
I'm so glad you got the light cover, Beautiful!!🎉 Love the vintage accordion light🎉.
Love going to the antique with you, whenever you were shopping I said I like the light and I'm glad you bought it because that was my favorite piece that I saw in your video and that you bought.
So many beautiful pieces there's no way to choose just one!
Love everything you've found, but that black wall light 😍😍😍😍
Now THIS is interesting and fun - will antique shop with you any day our girl Danie!
Love the piece~!! PLEASE upcycle it for us. Sooo relatable " I can make that!". You are a great ray of sunshine.
It’s so much fun going shopping with you.. you always love the different quirky things!! You found some great pieces… love how much you love things!!! And the editing with the little funny comments make me laugh. Just love your videos!!
Your cabinet would look great in the colour of your little vase you just got. Your accordion light is the best!
Love the accordion lamp and the big black pottery piece at the end of your video.
I was pleased to see the lamp shade. I loved it when I saw it in the store. Also the wood dish.
The dresser looks perfect as is
The black lamp for your garage office, please.
Fantastic mall . Kind of place that had real antiques. Not just Ole stuff. Really enjoyed this trip.
I loved the chest, the accordion light and the receipt hooks. And of couse, the slabs of walnut!
I love the hanging glass globe and the expandable light. All were unique finds though!
Of COURSE we want to see you upcycle the drawers!
