  • Recharge performance
The final and possibly most important information is the recharge performance. This shows the battery’s condition and its ability to supply power.
Shooting a few images and then charging the battery will shorten its life far quicker than using the battery untilit is almost flat and then recharging it.
ONE RED BAR = Battery has reached the end of its useful life, and should be discarded and replaced with a new battery. Recharging or re-conditioning will not enhance its performance.

Very nice and useful video. I always wondered if there was a way to refurbish those EXPENSIVE canon batteries. Now I know. Thanks

Friend, I did open one LP-E6 and the batteries have nothing wrote on it. It have 48mm so it is an 18480 one, right? You said that original ones cames with 18500. Do you know if the case are the same? Can I replace it by 18500 and will fit?

Hi. Sorry for a late. I didn't receive notification. I used a loctite super glue. Simple quick dry glue.

I replaced both Canon battery cells in LP-E6N (NRC18500, 3.7V, 2040mAh). After charging in the Canon charger and inserting it into the camera, the indicator still shows me the wrong performance level - 1x red bar. Does anyone know why 3 green bars do not appear after exchanging battery cells to new one?

Did you registered the new batteries in the camera?

It is likely that the battery management system is different. Newer type. The built-in control chip sees the old cells. The solution is too expensive.

@@thinge27 Of course, but it didn't help.

The BMS chip must be reprogrammed. Because it sees the old cells. Same problem with laptop battery repair. The cycle count must be changed. Expensive and complicated. If you don't do it in a businesslike way, it won't pay off.
