Idk if you'll see this man, but when I was stationed up there I used to fish the jetties in Destin and I'm not exaggerating when I say that around the months of Sep-Oct, the jetties would be loaded with 20+ in mangroves. I know it's probably a far drive for you, but if you're willing you should definitely try it out.
Can you still fish those Destin Jetties? Eglin Commander shut down bridge access at Crab Island. But, I'm not sure about the East Jetty. Caught a zillion fish there back in the day.
its always nice to know what is being caught around the area. i havent had the chance to go out there and target those fish. it is that time of the season for those species.
