I was thinking the same.
IITians going to IIM will say that IIMs are placement agencies because they have already achieved most of the milestones like getting a brand tag, a Job in good company, amazing peers and professors, etc
However, students from tier 2 and tier 3 should go for MBA.
Bro, Does studying in IIM really impact a person's career and life who was passed out from a tier-3 college and doing a fresher job of 4lpa in IT mnc? Or Is it better to go for MS?
@@DK-js8cz IIM A/B/C propel your career by 10 years.
As such, MBA is not necessary for any job.
@@shreyastambat1813 You are saying that the IIM brand tag is most important to propel career than the MBA?
@@DK-js8cz yes it does brother not only IIM

MBA definitely makes sense. Don't simply go by some extra ordinary person's journey. Once you're there, then make any required alteration to your course of life. Till then, keep hustling for your goals. MBA from a premier institute opens up new door to diverse peer group and knowledge.
"MBA from a premier institute opens up new door to diverse peer group and knowledge.", this is what he also said, listen carefully.
@@rahul.dwivedi811 that's one of the positive sides of MBA...but in the end you become too complacent
@@ironman-29 some people become too complement, not everyone.
MBA from good colleges is like a good base for your career, your career growth solely depends upon you and how much you are willing to put in and the new skills you are learning.
I agree
Completely agree with Ashneer about “salary is a drug” that doesn’t allow you take risks in life..and you can’t go beyond comfort zone…
You bought my heart❤ and brought my talk🎉
bhai me maanta hu sab ko risk lena chahiye par agar aapke paas pese nhi h khaane ke liye kuch nhi h to aap risk bhi nhi le paoge.
What i mean is salary ka bhi apna importance h and once you reach certain level in life and where you take care about your basics, then you can start taking risk.

A toxic team leader at a creative startup in Mumbai asked me if I drink. I said a firm 'no'. To that he said that if someone offers you a drink and you say no, it is offensive. He cared the least about the mental well-being of his team. Listening to Ashneer's thoughts is refreshing. Would be so great to work under him.

Ashneer sir thank you for sharing these thoughts about MBA. What I have also seen in my friend's circle is that people who pursue MBA, directly after their Bachelors, without having some work experience, struggle a lot. They tend not to understand the dynamics of the business world in a better way, along with as you said, become complacent about their degree. Also, another impact is that they cannot understand where and how to use this business knowledge, that is, professional, personal or social life, and end up using it generally everywhere, thereby impacting their personal and social life.
Ranveer-Thank you for keeping such podcasts that motivate people to think outside of the standard scenarios.☺🙂

MBA opens new door for you. Can a engineer get to solve a corporate's business related issues till he has moved into management position? No. His scope will only be able to solve technical problems. But with an MBA, he can hope to accelerate his career to a management position much sooner wherein he will be solving problems of a higher complexity and much far reaching impacts than technology problems. Higher visibility, better network and higher salary are additional perks.

The things you said about corporate is so true.
Indian corporate culture is becoming toxic
Fact is India dosnt have any corporate culture....it's a Desi Daftari culture that we just renamed to corporates.
LMAO SO TRUE
indian? Kabhi UK and USA ke jefferies, goldman sachs, jp ke employees se pucho corporate culture kitna kharab hota hai💀
Indian corporates are sources of cheap labour for major firms including bane, BCG and Amazon. They have so many branches in India for this reason
@@stevenayare6097 lol true that! One such branches of a major company called "Christian evangelist" is also present that gets people like you "Steven" as a cheap opportunity
As ashneer said MBA is worth it for a good base you get a good salary and then you can grow on that base afterwards you can build your capital and invest in your own business and have a comparatively head start to your business. But the best way to learn business and management is to start a business.
Your statement still looks unfair, MBA gives you direction but currently the way these MBA colleges are doing is no way road. Also "MBA should be done from a prestigious college" this statement also looks very pathetic. Other than this " You know very well what to do" looks comfortable.
How can you start a business if you have 1k in account and 5 lpa
Yes sir its good to be a student for whole life to learn new things and to grow, not for a particular period of time or for degree only ✍️

I agree to ranveer so much!! Corporate culture sucks so much with regards to intoxication. A non drinker always generally feels left alone or is taunted, cant gel well cause boss is always right and subordinate however productive or lame is under boss..
Also boss always favour the one who drinks with them!!! Same with me Debashree dont feel alone
I don’t have formal technical education, like engineering, but I work in an IT firm. I perform better than most of my colleagues, because I constantly learn. I see engineers having the attitude that they know everything. The fact is that 90% of Comp Sc engineers cannot tell the configuration of their computer. How do you expect them to write codes or work on IT infrastructure.
What is your degree then sir?

Industry requires you to have an MBA for a starter level job with a salary of 40k per month. This is the standard set by the industry. So for an average Indian mba is the best opportunity to make an entry into the working world. MBA is a pathway and not an end destination. How you manage yourself after you get in & where your future trajectory will be is entirely upto you. But MBA is worth it, as long as you're looking for an opening.

I have a different view.
Not all people are same.
When you go to sell your product you have to first find decision makers.
Decision makers generally do not hang around any tom, duck and harry.
They spend time with people of their interests such as other decision maker, who can brig something for him etc.
But if you fall in that category and if you have some lifestyle then you can develop better rapport with them. Secondly when competitor or another decision maker comes into contact with same customer or decision maker, there will be certainly a comparison.
In those situations your customer will do business with those whom he will be comfortable with.
