Ric Bucher is right and wrong about QBs being critiqued the same. The example would be Brett Favre vs Mahomes, both QBs have a very similar style of play and it's common knowledge. Favre was called a gunslinger, but with Mahomes it's "street ball" coded/racial language for the same performance. And Mahomes is more accurate. Lol

Yes, all QBs are criticized. But they are not criticized the same way. Were people saying Steve Young ran too much in 95, after he had won a SB and was in his 5th year starting? Did people question Allen's ability to read a defense? Did they say he can only play street ball? No, they questioned his accuracy.
Did people question Brady's ability to read a defense at 27? And if you scoff and say 'of course not, he was one of the best in the league at it!', well it is as ridiculous to say the same about Mahomes.
What makes Mahomes great is his ability to carve defenses apart within structure. What makes him one of the best of the last quarter century is his ability to create when that structure breaks down.
There are certainly things to criticize about Mahomes (he has a tendency to bail on clean pockets early from time to time, he tries to do too much sometimes when the rest of the team is struggling), but to question his intelligence/mental progression is to show your ignorance of what type of QB he really is.

And they are almost never allowed to be journeymen like Fitzpatrick etc.

I'd say playing "street ball" seems to work pretty well.
There’s a reason why they call it going “off script” sports are scripted/rigged but players like Lamar can overcome the script against them with their athletic/playmaking ability.(let’s say a lineman let’s an edge defender easily go by for a sack) jimmy g is gonna get sacked easily or throw a pressure pick or whatnot while Lamar and mahomes can make a play despite the script going against them.(not to say they don’t follow the script for the most part as they’re all in on it) but still.

If you saw what happened to Russell Wilson the last few season in Seattle you've seen what's happened to Lamar, they both want to be the Hero and do it all themselves. Russell took so much unnecessary damage to his body and Lamar will too. He's going to lose a step which happens to all QB's that run a lot. They never think it's going to happen to them though, see RG3 about that

Josh Allen and Baker being called out for it isn't the same nor it's not as often or at the same rate. They haven't moved the goal post so much. The way they talk about the divisional game is more about Josh Allen than Patrick winning

Patrick mahomes has outperformed Allen every single year of his career, has won a super bowl and mvp, super bowl mvp.. and he still played better than Allen last postseason even including the blunder against the bengals.
Yet all off-season all you hear about it how perfect josh Allen is and that mahomes is falling off when that just couldn’t be further from the truth.
Reality is that there is not a single other young QB in this league who is even remotely comparable to mahomes in terms of his accomplishments/ current level of elite play/ consistency

I just want a better passer than runner. I don’t mind running but mahomes Rogers and Josh Allen are the key. Can make a play with their legs but their best ability is their passing ability. They trashed Cam Newton every chance they got calling him a showman for dancing in the in zone. The only QB to give his TD football to a child consistently and that's what they had to say about him. As big as Cam Newton is, he'd still collect yards running into the in zone and all they did was criticize him. It doesn't surprise me that they are critiquing Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes.
To add: I love that Joy mentioned microaggressions. They're annoying and disrespectful.
