Jamie played the shit out that movie he did good
Right! Yeah indeed true talent don't do it like they use to
He did really resemble ray and he did a great acting role
Didn’t he!!!
He won award for it!
Just like Denzel Washington, some actors have the unique ability to embody the persona they're attempting to portray..... Truly amazing!👊😎
This was Jamie Foxes best role, a once in a lifetime role. He deserved his oscar for this.
he got it for this movie
+eletric .lady twice in a lifetime role...tyson role
+EmXtraMoney Yea that Tyson movie is gonna be insane
+Michael Brooks Mike Tyson movie?

This was by far the best scene ever! Regina King acted so well, she should of won an award for this.
Kennedy this was the best role of her career.
REGINA KING is the peoples champion.....we all know she's that chick 😎
@@johnteill_ You got that right, sweetie I mean this woman is a damn legend in her own way.

This scene is awesome for me, just because...he's in the middle of a fight and all he can think is "This is it, that voice, I need that for the song!" It's not deliberately cruel, his head's stuck in the music.
Exactly
Dude always went to the music when he couldn't think lol

I remeber in theatre when he started singing everybody was like"OOOOhh!!!"

Jamie Foxx is incredible in this movie
Her emotions make my hairs stand up!
PuraLife No, her feelings are fucked up.
Same here man
you can hear and feel the pain and anguish in the song and the scene...powerful just POWERFUL.....so much soul....so much pain....and that hip beat and lyrics just SCREAMS at you and puts your goosebumps and hair on high.
You know what they said “Hit the road jack and don’t you come back No more no more no more no more hit the road jack and don’t come back no moreeeeeeeee” to crisp 🙏

Pisses me off how overlooked was Regina King's performance
Palmurcio She along with Kerry Washington and Sharon Austin were overlooked for their roles in this film.
The side chick never gets love. Has this movie taught you nothing. She knew what it was when she got in.

"how overlooked was Regina King's performance [was]" Words that were Never spoken again.
Hell, yes. She deserved the Oscar for her work.
LMAO.....man oh man, did you see that look she gave Ray? When a woman is mad she is a dangerous creature.
Truth seeker its a good thing that he(Jamie) was blind in that scene!!!!!!!!!
@@dwightlove3704 Jamie did that as a method decision. He had the crew tape his eyes shut for basically 23 hours a day (length of the shoot) so that he could come to understand how Ray got around and how he coped with life. The only scene shot with his eyes open (for obvious reasons) is the final scene of 'revelation', where Ray sees his mother and gets assurance from his dead brother that the death wasn't his fault. Accepting his past and demons essentially made "a blind man able to see."
@@alking7655 Okay thanks he talked about it on the REGIS PHILBIN SHOW when he was promoting the film

What people don't realize is that when she started crying at the end she wasn't acting anymore, real emotions took over in this scene... and it made this scene so much realer

Yea ok
she’s an actor
That’s what she wanted to happen. That’s the whole point of being an actor. You gotta channel your emotions to make the scene legit
Omg....powerful scene
+Kiki. i Kiki.i one of the best of all times
+Kiki. i Kiki.i and voice
Jamie did excellent but I gotta admit, Regina did beyond excellent as Margie too.
I love this scene because they encapsulated where truly great music comes from in one scene. Something raw, something powerful inside you. In the words of George Carlin, its not enough to know what notes to play, you need to know why they need to be played.
Regina King and Kerry Washington should have also gotten Oscar nominations. They're performances were outstanding.
I just LOVE Ray's voice when he says: "What you say!"
Lol

Jamie was just like Ray he looked like Ray he talked like Ray almost everything was related to Ray Charles
CupCake Cutie tro yggikwlwkJJJwisi sw
The thing that really made this movie pop is that Jamie actually had his eyes glued shut so he can portray Ray in the most accurate way possible. The entire movie he was actually blind so those body movements when he’s playing the piano most definitely capures the essence of Ray. Also, Jamie was actually playing and singing some of the songs blind too. That is truly real talent
He played this role so well he even did the joyful rocking jay did and his voice impression of his is so close the the real thing!! 10/10 oscard deserved!!
1:27 the piano sound when he got up 😂😂😂
😅
Like the piano said oh shit she did it now
1:26 the way he stands up and walks over to her was always hilarious to me for some reason
Got up like the Terminator lmao
2:22 Mano, quando o Jamie começou cantar "Hit the road, Jack. And don't you come back no more, no more..." Com a voz idêntica a do Ray foi automático, meus olhos se encheram de lágrimas na mesma hora. Que atuação brilhante.
mas é a voz do ray charles kkk
ele gravou isso no studio antes de morrer
Regina is being so underrated! She's awesome
That black woman at the beginning of this scene was one of the most amazing actors I have seen for awhile... Holy hell, I felt absolutely everything she said, it was so convincing. Even when she started singing, the emotion was still so powerful that I got goosebumps instantly... I'm about to google her. Holy shit!

This is one of my favourite scene in Ray movie...
It's just so funny seeing Margie singing while start furiously crying in 2:32, then on the stage (singing) while angry over Ray in 3:00...
Actress Regina King really got a strong and beautiful voice...Did she ever make a real singing record?? Did she get an Oscar nominee too??
She deserved to, both winning for Best Supporting Actress or just an nominee...
Unfortunately she did not get a best supporting actress nomination. In my opinion, she was robbed!
Yeah...But I bet, someday she will...
Beatrix that was not Regina she was simply lip singing but her performance was so convincing.
+Felicia Sanders the whole argument that's going on right now about Academy Awards being prejudiced/favoritism towards white actors/actresses makes a lot of sense when you realize Regina King didn't even get a nomination for this...
+Ida Dudenmanner I agree.
This is probably my favorite scene
2.23 is expertly on point of Ray's voice, literally perfect. Bravo Jamie boy
Rhys1992Mallon The real Ray Charles re-recorded all of his hits for this movie. Jamie is lip syncing.

The irony, Ray Charles calling someone a drunk even though he himself was an alcoholic until the day he died
He was talking about them both in this scene. He called himself a junkie.
The dynamic between Jamie Foxx and Regina King in this scene is nothing short of sheer genius and talent!
I loved Jamie Foxx in this movie! Such a brilliant actor. Brilliant movie with awesome cast.

How does Jamie Foxx do that Ray Charles voice!
Anthony he listened to a cassette tape of his voice in the background. He also saw footage of him in concert in the 60s.
Anthony Bryant the real Ray Charles re-recoreded his hits for this movie. Jamie is just lip syncing
Talent. He can imitate really well.
@@JMac7395 Jamie also had sessions with Ray before he died. While Jamie is a talented piano player and singer, he admitted himself that he felt he couldn't imitate Ray's singing voice, so left it to the master. However, I do believe he does play the actual piano notes in some song scenes.
he doesn't, he is a good imitator of many singers, amazing even But he didn't sing one song in this movie, it was said that he never dared to sing any of the songs of Ray Charles. Guess that's because he met the man itself.
