Hey guys, sorry for pinning this comment on all videos but I want to give you an update on the channel. I've been slowly adding a show archive to the videos including a full transcript added as sub titles and a full track listing (with links to CZcams videos for each track). Pilkipedia archive link has been added as well and I've been having fun illustrating some of KP's best bits, I'm adding these to a shop incase anyone is interested: www.man-moth.com/ It's taking me a while to update the archives, especially as I don't work Mondays so please bear with me as I chip away at it. Lots of love, Man Moth.

“I laughed myself to sleep once. I couldn’t believe my luck” He says before making thousands of us do the same thing every time we listen to his podcast
So true lol
Lol so true
Been listening to these for years, must have heard every episode at least 10 times. It still makes me laugh regularly.
❤❤❤
The reason why,
The reason why,
The reason why I had to die,
Did I bleed the blood of greed, what was my destiny?
Just think how famous that kid's rubbish poem is! I'm sure most of us, crazy XFM addicts will remember it all our lives. :)
It's Ricky's...for sure 😂
It has Gervais written all over it indeed haha
Is that keats?
@@tomwhitehead4263 Yates innit.
just done a night shift and giggling meself to sleep, can't believe me luck ☺
Steve’s comedic timing is second to none. “Answers on a postcard!”
Haha the cake bit as well is brilliant
Yeah that's gotta be one of my favourite Steve quips in all of the shows 😂
@@ufoash440Which cake bit?
Ricky: We won't have time for Monkey News!
Steve: We'll squeeze 'em in
"Can he hear us?" haha, that guy wouldn't stop talking after not wanting to be on air.
Of all the programs that beat the Ricky Gervais Show at the sony awards, this is the only one that I - an American halfway around the world - am listening to 14 years later.
Im Australian and not to one-up you but I. exactly halfway around the world from UK here, 24-hour flight to London innit
He’s done you there scientist. Play a song
Bit weird innit
What, even Joe and Twiggy? From Trent FM?!
@@greglynch391 they seemed to understand their market a bit better
"Someone starts bangin' on the door, so Suz-"
"Everyone's at it." - Another brilliant Merchant moment.
bit of an obvious though innit
@@ZPSBestProfileName well it is once you've heard the punchline
"We like the muff so much, that the knob is no good for us." Got to be one of my favorite lines spoken by anyone of all time.
47:10, Let us remember this glorious moment of radio
And to think it was genuinely ‘Tatu’ who said it 🤔
I love the guy geniunely calling in to tell them theyre doing a great job
Reminds me of Derek
reminds me of my old sunday league coach lol
I can see why he was cut off though, to be fair.
Can he hear us?
"This is XFM not Radio 2"
Thinking about little Karl "laughing himself to sleep" - adorable
+Joy Woffindin do you sleep well Joy?
+Joy Woffindin That was hillarious :D
Do you have a lot going on in your head?
Me right now, in bed at 8pm on Sunday
Some weird replies on this
3:30 Ricky: "We have talked about string on the show before, though." Hahahahaha!
This is getting mental😂
FOXY! It was like wimpy jackass
We've talked a lot on the show about people without 'eads.
We've talked a lot about hairy people on the show before
i love that this radio show is fucked up and all over the place, IMO thats what makes it awesome
Yeah totally, fuck professionalism, just bring on the quirky humor. They should get back together, with a radio show, and film it too, like Howard Stern.
I always love how delighted Ricky is when 'Sweet Home Alabama' comes on
Oh.... Crackin' tune!
Karl cleverly faded it in, on the Jukebox or Junkbox, Hit Parade or Shit Parade feature on series 3.
like mentioned.....CRACKIN' TUNE
I was intrigued by Picture Centre, proper Crib playing music 👍
I love the way Steve pauses in amazement when Ricky says “Dah” at 46:26 😄
love Ricky's scream when Karl Compares Stringfellows to ordering a meal from a restaurant
Absolutely brilliant! :D One of the shows finest moments!
ITS GOING COLD
44:37 "STOP BITING YOUR NAILS..." That totally caught me off guard, I also happened to be biting my nails right then.
It's mad to me that at the time, no one really listened to the show and it didn't win any awards! It's so popular and so many of us listen to this repeatedly!!
lots of people listened to the show if i remember correctly, they just thought it was funny to act like they didn’t have a very big listener base
trust. If no one was listening then ricky would not have been doing it. He was a massive star even by this point.
32:15 what an amazing 'shut up'. Real venom in that one.
I've never understood why said it. What was he so angry at Ricky for?
Hailey going to the cinema with someone...Steve probably missed out on a date cause he wouldn't pay for popcorn
@@Christoff070 He's done you again Seve !!!!
@@TheStaggaz32 probably because he talks bollocks, loves the sound of his own voice and antagonises people for his own amusement. At some point, you get frustrated.
A lots of time Gervas just rambling on about nothing. Steve kinda like larry from the three stooges.
13 hour shift and battered to pieces. Still can’t sleep due to how much I’m laughing and enjoying these after possibly here it surely over 500 times.
This is definitely an all time great episode
Da
Oui exactement
100%
IT'S GOING COLD!
Favourite bit
Is this the first time Ricky and Steve accept all three of Karl's Rockbusters answers? It must be one of very few when they all make sense.
This week he just couldn't string a sentence together when trying to give the cryptic clues out. Rockbusters still getting that Dilkington quality stamp even if they make sense lol
Nah I'm sure there was one a few episodes back where all three worked and Ricky said Karl had redeemed himself.
MAYBE DR FOX SHOULD BE LISTENING TO THOSE FIGURES.
"Start having it away a bit...doing what I do."
Lol.
"It wasn't really entertaining."
Almost twenty years later and millions of listenings.
"He were expectin' extra hour in bed. But we got 'im kehk as well."
Love it!!!
26:16 is one of the most brilliant things Karl's ever said, and Ricky's laugh right after is absolutely perfect!
EvilToaster I prefer the laugh at 10:10
Steve is obsessed with the idea that all the internet is good for is discussing which episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer is your favourite and i can't think of anything more 2003
Where does he say that
I've never heard that.
Love how Karl dreads getting tons of money and travelling and afew years later does idiot abroad and becomes a millionaire 😂
Genius Abroad
Crouching Moron, Hidden Genius
Not a millionaire he’s skint atm
This is slightly out of date. He did make a lot of money around the time of An Idiot Abroad, but Companies House shows that his limited company only made £67k of profit in the year to 31 March 2022.
@@saraha5510 so you think he's still getting that check off Suzanne?
I have a feeling money caused their falling out. Karl would complain about not seeing the money from the shows and Ricky told him to be patient. It seemed like Karl being Karl but I think he was serious. Then he did Moaning of Life which was basically An Idiot Abroad but without Ricky and Steve getting a cut.
As someone who is not a native english speaker (Swedish) I do cherrish when there is caller, because that makes me appreciate the fact that Rick and Steve at least try to come across as somewhat audible and coherent. And that their accents aren't as strong as they could've been. Like Rick's mom. Love her accent!
Awfully suspicious that Ricky doesn't say anything during that interview with the Russian band
Anirud Jampana ya I know right! What's the go with that? 🤔
Ya, ya... DA.
same with the Chris Martin one but then at the end he says "yeah seeya later Chris" - so i guess there's nothing to be suspicious about it?
Wi like di moff soo much that di knob is no good fo us.
i wish all interviewers would let their guests talk freely 😂
I laughed so much at the songs you write when your 14 years old, because that's exactly what I was like. Never a fan of bubblegum pop I tried writing these deep song lyrics and looking back they are atrocious haha - so Ricky is very accurate there. As always thank you Man Moth legend
Sam Dilks A truly underrated moment on the show! lol.
It’s only the best podcast when all 3 together. One couldn’t do without the other I don’t think. Steve is very sharp and fast 😂😂
the more i hear them talk about the sony's, the more i relise "regular" radio is rubbish
It's not necessarily rubbish. National radio just has to be very, very careful about many things. Their audiences are vastly larger than XFM's. You can't go around saying "shit, tit, bollocks" and such on BBC Radio 1 or 2. They have long-standing reputations as quality broadcasters to uphold. You expect professionalism from them. Whereas Ricky's independent XFM show simply doesn't care about what is said. Otherwise, they would have been shut down a long time ago.
Saying that, obviously I think Ricky's show is better. The fact it's a complete mess, with swearing all over the place combined with taboo subjects, makes it far more entertaining. But that won't win any awards at swanky events. They're not tailored for this kind of radio.
@De Profundis Yep. Mostly shite.
This show, and the 4 previous to this, are the greatest 10 hours of radio ever broadcast. I am certain of this.
52:42 “everyone’s at it” 😂😂 never understood the hate for Steve, he’s always quality in these things
This one brought me to tears of laughter about four times, unbelievable. The Hugh Fays bit, Rockbuster clues, amazing stuff.
This series is archived on Spotify. I started it when I contracted COVID-19 in February 2022 and finished it a year later. I listened to it for my drives to work in the morning. One of *many* things I remember from these sessions was when Ricky "impersonated" t.A.T.u., and laughing so hard in the car and willing myself not to crash it.
This has got to be one of the funniest episodes of their entire run hahaha I am dying at Karl 'having it away' with Suzanne when the fireman shows up
'We have talked about string, on the show...'
'Everyone's at it... Oh you mean knocking'
Hahahaha brilliant
Worryingly I remember that poem off heart as well
Personally like the sips of coffee mid conversations
I think they're probably drinking tea😏
@@livelifeincolour Definitely, lol. But I do love it as well!
Wine for Ricky.
30:18
Can he hear us?
Well I can see why you cut him off.
46:19
Just highlighting my favourite moments for future watches. See you all next cycle
Are millions of people listening to dr fox’s podcast 20 years later?
Mark Whippy 2 years later...he meant Natalie Imbruglia but called her Natalia. I can’t work out his mumblings straight after😂🤷🏽♀️
Well he was also accused of sexual assault...he got off with it but you know
almost definitely not
I personally think this is way funnier than any other radio station. Better than BBC Radio 2, just love the unprofessional state of it compared to anything mainstream
I love how Ricky always gets happy when sweet home Alabama comes on
13:27 "Placibow" :D
8:44 - “but it’s going cold”
22:25 - “went to Hugh Fay’s”
Thank you, needed to hear the lapdancing bit 😆
"You Vayz."
I laugh myself to sleep too, when i listen to these shows (after i go to hugh phase for some potatoas n bread) 😂
sorry what is this? Dublin in the 17th century?
LOOK AT KARL'S FACE - I think that's up there with the other all time greats
Janice Cresanova LOOK AT 'IS LITTLE FACE!!!
Do you know what makes this show? After the success of The Office, Ricky and Steve were totally secure. They had NOTHING to prove or lose. So it was just a bunch of mates unwinding... you can't buy that.
Oh, and Karl.
That is a great point.
Karl's just not bothered.
41:31 Karl trying to seem nonchalant about bringing up Cheap as Chimps is so perfect
Gervais wrote that poem 100%
This is defenetly one of my favourite ones. I feel the worse they seem to ricky and Steve the funnier they are.
"you can't have your cake and eat tit"... hah, Ricky shut that down pretty quickly.
+trippplefive Would have loved to hear the rest :P
trippplefive play a record, let me talk to you about puns..
Hehe! "No bot... I'm jos' sayin'.."
You CAN have your cake and eat tit. You idiot. Play a record.
Why?
This played at half speed is blowing my mind
Jennifer Nahulu just tried it my.mind.is.blown too 💣
Haha, Ricky mumbles even more now but it really works quite nicely. I could understand if he was drunk lol.
ricky and steve sound different..... karl sounds the same xD
That “what can you do” like cracks me up😂😂 55.15
i wonder how many are listening to old dr. fricks episodes 20 years later
Never thee mind.
The Curmudgeon i found that comment quite funny
Bodgit, wibble and podge
I wonder how many of the radio shows that won awards still have a whole community of listeners over 10 years after production.
If ever Dr. Fox proved he knows absolutely nothing, it was this episode.
Surely that was a joke though, I struggle to believe that the Dr Fox part was real.
@@jamesandres7142 yeah, it was a bit of a skit just
@@jamesandres7142 It’s real. Watch the Brass Eye “paedogeddon” episode, in which Foxy was famously tricked into claiming that paedophiles share more genes in common with crabs than they do with other humans. Obviously this interview with him was edited and cut to sound funnier (I doubt that Gervais actually asked him to check a lump), but the guy is an idiot.
Ricky sounds like a nightmare to be around when he gets goin
Haha yeah agreed mate
check out the behind the scenes stuff of him tormenting his friend Robin.
55:00 I absolutely love how they're all talking about Karl's erection and the next song that is played is Life on Mars by David Bowie, with the opening line being 'It's a god awful small affair'.Planned or not, it's hilarious!
I absolutely love that one where they talk about 'You never see a black ghost' and they immediately play 'Hope There's Someone' which ends in a haunting 'ooooooooooh' 🤣
Almost definitely not planned but you're right, absolutely hilarious! Nothing seems planned on this show 😂
52:40 One of Merchant's best lines
That Dr fox segment was absolutely hilarious
"Talk about Jimmy Saville."
Saw this thinking, "What?"
Then I heard it, at that moment. LOL
Tornados mainly happen in Kansas to Ricky because he watched Wizard of Oz
38:45 The fledgling conception of An Idiot Abroad.
Little does he know! 🤣
Tracey Emin - make yer bed!
Damien Hirst - stop cuttin up sharks n things!
um... Picasso - yalrigh'?
Sometimes I say this when people around me are being snobby about art. They always just stare at me..... I wonder why 🤔
I love these. They always replemish my health.
is ricky just HAMMERED after 30? he's my hero!
I love how Ricky says “But we have talked about string” 😂😂😂😂
It just goes to show doesn’t it... twiggy and whoever in the midlands get the silver, meanwhile the Ricky gervais show lives on forever in several locations, listened to repeatedly by many nearly 20 years later.
Karl Pilkington wasn’t appreciated in his time, he certainly is now 😂
I think it was Joe and Twiggy. They were funny
"Music in this video: Sweet Home Alabama, from the album Sahara: Music From and Inspired By The Motion Picture"
CZcams knows even less about the music than the DJs that are on in the week
"And their lyrics."
Imagine any kid asking their parents "where was I conceived" lmao
I wonder if Suzanne ever got her trip to Egypt now Karl's made some good money
But it's going collllldddd!!!!
This is one of the best episodes!
52:40 "Everyone's at it" ... one of my favorite of Steve's stealthy lines.
In a minute, in a minute *sigh*
Every time 🤣🤣🤣
Plenty of tornados hit Texas, Ricky.
Texas has more tornadoes per year than Kansas. Karl proves his superior intelligence once again.
9:54 what you came for
Thank you so much
It's going cold!
The bath-chicken story is fantastic, Ricky trying to change the subject
55:27 Steve- 'We'll squeeze them in'
That's genius! 😂 😂
TheOllieXD I don't get it?
@@Mrpandaaable I think Steve was making a joke/ play on words about the fact that Karl was unable to get his jeans on in the story he had just told
This is honestly like the, "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," or radio shows! lol. In fact, I think there's an episode where the gang actually does try and get a podcast started, it's just a little shoddier than this! XD
And now they have their own podcast!
And Karl’s cat mop feet idea became Kitten Mittens
the Hindenburg quote - ah the humanity - is taken from Larry Sanders, it is such a funny line. I laugh every time.
Has anyone heard of Joe & Twoggy ??
I want to look up their podcast ..
The real question is, what is Karl's destiny?
Will he bleed the blood of greed?
+WollongongWacko Is that the reason why he had to die?
To have boiler problems for the rest of his life😂
He wouldn’t know, cos he never plans for anything.
And who's listening to Dr Fox's shows almost two decades after they aired?
the end of the first song and the introduction seems so smooth for some reason
where'd yer get the money from? never thee mind.
i adore the man that calls in
There's a man there's a lonely man take a look at him he looks a bit like me
* shock horror * "It IS me!!!" :o
What was my destiny?
You're brilliant. And, that's about you, is it?
Sorry! What was this, Dublin in the 17th century.
A foreshadowing of ‘Extras’
No awards. Yet, somehow, I find myself wondering how many of those shows that won awards are still being listened to 20 years down the line 🤔🤷♀️
Ha,ha,look at Dr Fox,now...
+TheBusterMan I have no idea who this is, it's funny how there are lots of big names in the UK that have no fame elsewhere, it's kind of like K-Pop
Kieran Burton oh shit, and yet still haven't heard of him
I'd really like to know if that was staged or not ?
Paul Thoresen Exactly the same in the US, only famous in their own country
