How many "Go shoot people" plotlines are there? And even if they did come up with a 'new' idea who cares? Think people watch these kind of movies for the stories?
Hell, look at John Wick (first one) 8.1 on Metacritic, 81 on Rotten Tomatoes and the plot of that movie is super original, right? Guy takes revenge for personal loss.
A good movie is a good movie irrespective of how many times the story has been told.
