Hey Teena, interesting video and good on you for putting it together. To correct you on healthcare, it is actually free in NZ for all citizens and residents in the public system (meaning if you needed surgery urgently or otherwise you would not pay anything). When you see a GP etc they are paid by the government per patient they have enrolled but drs etc charge you a "top up" fee which is up to each practice which is why the costs are so variable. In effect the Australian system charges you more via medicare through your taxes where in NZ there's no need for additional insurance as your taxes pay for it all and medical insurance is taken by ppl to use it in private healthcare. Similarly, you can choose to go under the hospital midwife here and if a private midwife is concerned with anything during your pregnancy they refer you to the hospital OBGYN for your remaining care. Hope that makes sense.

Yeah,,, am a big fan and beneficiery of NZ health care,, hospital cost, surgery, rehab, transportation, your carer payment, there are n number of things, include 80%salary on your rehab days, until you fully fit to come back to work,, I don't have words to express,, because I am on rehab now,, ambulance costs80$,
I think we get Pvt medical insurance at a cost of 60-120$,,,so not bad, But , what I know Aus Medicare deduction would be higher than this amount,,
If you are money minded and you want to live with your parents, longer,, aus would be best option,, NZ is kind of peace loving, nature loving,,,

Hi Shilpa Climate in Melb is usually cold and unpredictable they get very few days of really hot weather. Melbourne weather is very unpredictable. Qld is known as sunshine state the weather is comparable to Kerala weather. Summer here is very hot and humid. Winter is short and pleasant. Rain isn't very frequent these floods were a very rare occurrence.
It is best to look up in google which areas were worst hit during the floods here as I don't know them all. Look for houses that are not in low lying areas.
Melbourne and QlD are very different. Qld water is hard water but Melbourne is not. We prefer QLD to Melbourne but qld is tropical

@@sv7427 Shilpa nursery is not free for anyone, childcare fees here are high you get a subsidy if you are PR or citizen. If not full fees will apply. After age 3.5 they can go to C&K which is little cheaper but the hours are short and it's only for 2 days a week or 2.5 days. For school if it's a state school its free for PR holders and I think those doing PhD . Private schools are all paid by parents. International students will pay a much much higher fee than domestic in both state and private. Private will be even more expensive. I believe some scholarships are available in private schools to help with fee costs.
I have no idea about health insurance sorry.

Just 1 correction minimum wage in NZ has increased to $18.90 now. Next Year would be $20/hour.

I have visited Aus and NZ twice many years ago. As mentioned NZ is beautiful and Australia is a dry desert. Only with 25 mil population, already in many places they have to use desalination plants for fresh water. Imagine if there is a prolonged drought. North and west of Sydney whole country is unbearably hot during summer. I use Sydney as a cut-off boundary. New Zealand weather is beautiful. Maybe my personal preference of liking cold weather.
Economically both countries are one trick ponies. Australia mining/farming and NZ Farming/tourism. Prosperity of both countries depends on the fortunes of China the main importer. China if it decides can economically strangle both countries. It is difficult to grow any industrial base because of the remoteness plus high labor costs. I got bored with Australia with only 5 weeks of stay. How many Kangaroos can you can tolerate. There is nothing much to see in outback. Also cost of living in both countries are very high in comparison to North America.

Hello dear it depends on which suburb you stay, however per day daycare fees will vary from $75 -$125 per day in QLD.

No they cannot, you have to get PR. Children of student visa holders pay a lot of money, international fees, some get scholarships and it helps to bring down fees but it is not a guarantee. Catholic schools are more likely to give such scholarships, especially for primary education.

We didnt have one, some of our friends who migrated have kept their house in NZ and rented it out, so rent is usually covering majority of mortgage

In Nz average fees were approx $60 a day back 5 years ago, I am sure it has increased slightly atleast since then. It is also area dependent, after age 3 there is 20 hours free childcare a week for all children
In Australia childcare costs approx $85 a day, however most get a subsidy on top depending on income levels as well but on average cost would come to about $40-50 a day after subsidy.
School fees there is huge variation if going to private schools it can be between $2000 - $10000+ a year , the state offers public and independent schools for free. Again depending on area some of these are good some are not so good.
In Nz and Aus public schools are free
