    I am a little confused about whether I need a pressure regulator for my sprinkler to drip irrigation conversion. I am using the Irritrol 2700DPR, which has a screw which allows one to control the water pressure in the system. Is adjusting the valve, to lower the water pressure, suffice to stabilize the new drip system on should I still install a pressure regulator at the end of the riser? I can not find any documentation that address that question. Or should it be assumed that a pressure regulator should ALWAYS be installed when using a drip system? Thanks for your assistance.

    Thank you, I'm still struggling with my system though. I've used a pressure gauge to check the pressure out of my hose bib, which is measuring at 60 PSI. When I add the pressure regulator, it is not reducing the pressure as expected. I've tried a few difference pressure regulators, of varying quality, brand, and PSI, but none seem to be reducing the pressure to the desired PSI. This is a system off of a hose bib, using an orbit controller and drip tubing, so I do need to get the pressure down from 60 psi. Do you know a suggestion for what I can do, or why the pressure regulators do not seem to be doing their function? Originally it seemed like they may be working, but water was leaking from the connections, so when I got those patched up the pressure was still too high.

    I am not in Australia, but having fitting pop off for drippers. Can I call you guys still for help? I live in USA

    Hello very nice video! I would like to ask, I am finalising a design for my gravity fed drip irrigation and my source water is from 40m elevation away. Sould I put my pressure regulator still on the source or should I place it near my drippers?

      I wouldn't install a pressure reducer at all for a system like that.

      Will I not be having problem with the drippers?

      @waterproau  Před 2 měsíci

      Very unlikely. 40m is 400kpa. By the time you get to the drippers you'll have some reduction.

    Thanks for the inf, wondering to know is there any software for designing an irrigation system with the combination of the water pump?

      Hey mate. We use CAD or IrriCAD for irrigation design. Our designers calculate the hydraulics. I don't know of any better software.

    The water pressure goes before the valves ? After the backflow valve?

    • @waterproau
      @waterproau  Před 3 lety +1

      Most pressure reducers are only designed to work under dynamic flow, therefore they need to be after the valves. Otherwise they may leak or break.

      That one was a Zurn NR3 - not sure if they still exist. This is the product info sheet.

    Very good video. I have a question, I bought a small watering system kit from Amazon with a digital water pump, lines and dripping parts. The product work fine but I tried to change the dripping parts for the sprayer parts because I want the water come from the top and not want to use the dripp. Also I added more lines and sprayer because I have more plants and I will have more plants in a future. So, the system has not pressure enough to spraying water. I bought a medium water pump separate from Amazon and Im planning to connect that to a 55 gallon tank. I don't want to broke the lines of the system that I have already and I would like to connect to the right way. I would like to know how I can set up the water system without broken the lines because will be a lot of pressure. Can you explain me the process or if you have a video to recommend? Thanks in advance. By the way I subscribed to your channel.

      Sprays use much more pressure than drippers. Its likely you need a pressure pump. Can you link up the system in the comments for me?
