We have a 1940 Crocker Big Tank in our local motorcycle museum, incredible bike
Stunning! I never saw a Crocker in Germany, and nowhere here in Europe, not even an unrestored wreck!
Did the famous Steve McQueen really owned two of the Crocker motorcycles in his collection in earlier years, is there a photo of Steve on one of his Crocker bikes..?
Phantastic motorcycle, outstanding design and quality, a pure dream...
Thanks for sharing!
Micha
No pressure on the dude holding it during the auction!
I was thinking the same thing. And as the price got $600,000 he has to roll it alone. Haha
he looks nervous dont he?
They sell Shelby Cobras and stuff like that.
Thank you Mecum, the price of all my old bikes just went up.
I did not know Bigsby of this bike is the same as the Bigsby on the Gibson guitars
RIP Paul Bigsby, the real Gyro Gearloose.
One factual error here should be corrected. If Al Crocker went to work at Indian in 1908 (think it was '09), Paul Bigsby would have been 10 years old. He was a smart kid, and child labor laws were loose, but... By most accounts, Crocker hired Bigsby in LA in 1928.
That don't make motorcycles like That anymore Beautiful 👌
This bike is definitely a hot rod. The company motto was “If a Harley or an Indian beats you… we’ll give you your money back”
The money is insane in Vegas. Shit they sold a clock that dont work for a grand. And this is total madness....
Unbelievable, awesome bike.
Super rare, I did never see one of this
Wow man a dream bike
If you want to own a motorcycle like this one , you better go to work and save your money !!! Beautiful piece of history though !!!
The whole "phone" bidding thing is a little.....shall I say, ..fishy. LOL
Wow
Big fan of Vincent but if I had a little more bliss in my fiscal I would be riding an American Crocker. If I remeber correctly the American Victory motorcycle was a hemi head motor as well. Maybe our grand children will be fighting over those at Mecum one day.
if could afford it,,,,would ride it,,,,not show case it,,
So rare--> I charge $5 just to let people look at a photograph of the bike 🤓
And it will never get ridden again, such is the shame.
I saw the comment below. I watched this live. When I saw the guy on the phone my initial thought was Jay Leno. I don't know if he has a Crocker. Big Tank nonetheless. I think they only made 20 big tanks.
1 pricey motorcycle
These auctions make me sad. It's always the grandkids that sell these beauty's so they can make a quick buck off gramps.
Jay Leno?
I'd be sweating all over that bike at that price...
Would you rather have this bike or 16 different Harleys for the same price?
16 harleys, are the same bike!!!
park it right next to my 22 million SSJ Duesenberg
That 1 bike
They sre not competing against each other. Very limited production custom. Great defunct company. Collectors bike that will be worth over a million in future.
At this level the last thing you want in your house is an common Harley
How many millions for the triple Elvis picture?
The buyer is going to park his Crocker in his living room next to his Velvet Elvis painting.
Checkout 1346venice.....
mike stang can’t wait to see when they finally unveil their new reproduction Crocker. Hope Jay Leno does a garage episode on it.
@@Patriot-up2td He will, a milestone bike like the Crocker deserves a reboot/reproduction, Jay's a super enthusiast he has gas and oil running in his veins, like the rest of us!
mike stang you know it brother!
Ill give ya $20 bucks...............$20 bucks is $20 bucks!!
Total insanity and STUPID to pay that much for a bike. Now if it had a J79 with full AB then it would be different.
i'd green lane the crap outta that bad girl
Hahahaha
A fool and his money......
First
People with more money than sense. He could have bought 20 new kia's and donated them to needy families. Instead the bike won't be used and it'll sit in the living room to look at.
True....but you completely missed the point. This is Art, and American Art is important, people need something to aspire to. We need examples of excellence now - more than ever!
As long as something like is preserved for the future, I don't care where it is stored. It is a plus if it is a place where other people can go an admire it, but that is secondary.
Those kind of comments are ridiculous. Hand made collectors motorcycle very rare will appreciate in value. An investment in moving art
Go an eat a cabbage stomp or hug a tree my little flower snowflake
And why would they do that?those needy families can buy there own car. They made the money they can buy whatever they want with it.
Wow
yap, why not a Shelby, if at all..?
