DAY 2 - Ink & Wash Still Life

Using a sharpened stick and a pot of ink plus a piece of sponge and some diluted ink (or wash) to draw some objects from the kitchen. This is a great technique for freeing you up..."What's the worst thing about ink? You can't rub it out...what's the BEST thing about ink? You can't rub it out!"

I just recently got interested in ink drawing. Went from micro pens to nib pens to a bamboo pen. The black of ink is a complement to the white of the paper, so crucial to watercolor. It's not something I'd do exclusively but is a way to refocus, for me, on the shadows, so important for depth and perspective in painting. Chalk and charcoal are also welcome substances as you demonstrated so well. Thanks.
