That audience should have been on their feet after that! That as pure beauty!
Ho avuto la fortuna di sentirla alla Scala in questo ruolo. Un'esecuzione superlativa, arricchita da variazioni stratosferiche eseguite con perfetto controllo del fiato a tutte le altezze. Alla fine un'ovazione interminabile ha celebrato tanta bravura. Grande la Di Donato!!!!

Spectacular I saw Joyce perform the role of Elena in this Rossini opera when it was put on at Covent Garden a few years ago and she was fabulous in it. It’s lovely to see it again and exactly what we need in these difficult times, gorgeous and uplifting, brava Joyce!

@@debbiejohnson2789 Agree MC was in another galaxia when she sang this piece particularly at the beginning of her international career. See a concert in Philadelphia with Corelli. Am not a DiDonato fan but can’t deny this was a virtuosic rendition.

Tutto tranne una evocatrice del bel canto ottocentesco. Il timbro carino ma nulla piu' e nessuna statura da "primadonna" che necessita ler affrontare queste pagine musicali. Una specie di Mimi con agilita'..non perfette.
Fammi sentire un'esecuzione perfetta di quest'aria... È difficile! Ma lei l'ha cantata con eleganza regalando a tutti il sorriso...
@@carmelaosato4370 , Montserrat Caballe, perche' ha un suono evocativo. La Di Donato ha un timbro "qualunque" anche se piacevole e sa cantare, ma per questo genere di partiture ci vuole una primadonna superdotata e non l'orfanella (qual la Di Donato e')

I never understood this adoration for DiDonato. It sounds as if she's is always singing out of tune and straining herself. Especially in the upper range when the vibrato becomes very unpleasant. I try it again and again, but can't listen to it for more then a few minutes. Ah well, so many singers, so many fans I guess...

После Юлии Лежневой не впечатлило это исполнение. Старание слишком явно, приобретённое мастерство, класс, одним словом. Но нет теплоты, мягкости, лёгкости природной - души. Юля поёт, как поют птички на веточке, - легко, вольно, забываясь в душевном порыве.,, Душой исполненый полет". Слушаешь и забываешь, что это музыкальный номер.
А здесь не забываешь ни на минуту,, и вместо наслаждения музыкой начинаешь рассматривать лицо, ошейник из драгоценностей...
И вот её фиоретуры начинают раздражать. С трудом дослушала до конца

Голос очень субъективен. Есть певцы, которых многие любят, а мне совсем не нравятся. Мне очень нравится слушать Юлии Лежневой. Большое вам спасибо за то, что порекомендовали ее!
