Grande Soprano, de bellísimo timbre en los tres registros, sin cambiar el color. Esta Ópera es difícil para una soprano, pues el primer acto es para una leggera, el segundo acto para una lírica. Y el tercer acto para una dramática. Lissette es magnífica en esta ópera. Además su timbre es más bello que otras sopranos conocidas como “ la divina” y otras más.

This role was written for a pure pure dramatic soprano. Not for a spinto but for a pure dramatic. It is a HUGE role. Oropesa is a soubrette - the role fits her like she is a 2 years old girl who just learn to walk trying to walk in her mother’s high heels. The lightest this role should be sung is by a very meaty lyric soprano like Gabriella Tucci for instance and even she did not have the vocal DEPTH the role requires. This is not for Oropesa. Stick with light roles mam!
Since when does a dramatic soprano have a third octave E flat in its range?! Violetta should also sing at this pitch at the end of the aria we are commenting on! By definition, the dramatic soprano has lower end pitches!!!
The E-flat is not written and the tessitura is incredibly central for the last two acts, act 2 especially, which is the longest. I also believe Traviata was most likely intended for a dramatic soprano who is young or holding a little bit of the voice back. Licia Albanese said in interview that there are no more than 3-4 moments where Violetta needs to sing very loudly. But the fact she must sing all this exacting music while also portraying an unhealthy woman to me is an indication that Violetta at full health would be a very robust metallic dramatic voice.
The Vienna State Opera clearly do not agree with beachfanatic2010. Oropesa is booked to play Violetta there in October. (Juan-Diego Florez is playing Alfredo.)
@@danielng7795 I hate to say it, but when Netrebko was younger she was a fabulous Violetta in terms of acting as well. Lisette Oropesa is of course technically better, but I see Lisette as the best Lucia di Lammermoor.
