Hey my man! Love your videos so far - I use tupperdors as well and almost every hygrometer I use always ranks 3-5% above the boveda pack. For example, boveda 62, will be 65-67 on hygrometer because its air-tight, is that normal? Would you still recommend calibrating the hygrometer back to 62RH while in an airtight tupperdor or would you be making the hygrometer inaccurate?

Another great video! Per the video - the calibration kit bovedas are only “special” because the 75% and 32% packs they come with contain only a single type of salt. All the other packs are mixture of multiple salts. At 70 degrees the single salt packs are rated at +/- 1% rh error where as the multi salt packs are between +/- 2-4% error depending on the particular pack value.

Awesome thanks for the info! It would be nice to see some calibration kits in the 62-69% range. Still works great for now though.

@@sigmanado unfortunately they can’t make calibration kits in that range with the same accuracy due to the lack of single salts with those specific rh’s. For example, the 75% pack is just regular NaCl sodium chloride - which is basically the same table salt you’d use to do a salt calibration.

62 is your favorite humidity to keep your sticks at all times? And what type of electric humidor do you have?

Yes 62% is my favorite for any air tight storage. I’ve been using the Needone 48L 👍

How fast do the batteries drain? They seem like good hygrometers; just trying to weigh the pros and cons.

If you’re checking the app daily and constantly updating the readings, probably like a month tops.

How long should it take for the govee hygrometers to get to 75%? I’ve had two in a 75 percent calibration pack for about 20 hours and they are barely to 71.

Bovida are notoriously bad at keep humidity. 3% up or down!

I’ve never recharged them. It’s not worth the risk imo I’d just get new ones

Why is it that you like the 62% rh over say a 69 or 72%rh?

It’s preference really. They burn easier and taste better imo
