Technical details:
The light-up MIDI controller is called LUMI and was sent to me by Roli (2 units for 4 octaves). The full-size controller I use is the Sequential Prophet XL. Other mini keyboards I use are the Yamaha Reface CS and Korg microKEY-61.
My DAW is Cubase. I use a variety of plugins and hardware synths for the sounds - Keyscape, Retrologue, Organteq, Halion SE, Prophet 6 (to name a few).
All the MIDI art is recorded live, and I don't edit the MIDI in any way (no quantization, no velocity editing, nothing). Sometimes I add a backing track - usually after recording, to give the art some groove and context when I feel it needs it.
How did I get into MIDI art? Ever since I saw the inspiring work of Savant, Andrew Huang and other amazing MIDI artists I've been thinking of trying to create something like that in real time. Jacob Collier deserves a lot of credit as well - he was the first to pull it off live and his fantastic videos proved that the concept can work. Finally, the news of a new Metroid 2D game after 19 years (Metroid Dread) got me hyped and inspired me to give the idea a shot at last. I'm glad I did! :)

He drew the left-side black keys of the synth using ascending arpegios, the middle ones using chords and the right side ones using descending arpegios in order to create a vanishing point effect. This guy's devotion to detail is crazy. This is beautiful man, thank you.

Tomorrow we already enter the year 2022. All of us know about how productive GLASYS was this year to give us all a lot of content to be amazed, stunned and highly entertained about. Really, thank you for that! But who can remember that 2022 - as well - is the year, the story of the dystopian cinematic masterpiece "Soylent Green" (1973) takes place? Everyone should know about this fact like everyone get surprised watching GLASYS do unexpected things using his keyboards. Music can be turn into graphical art using MIDI and humans can creatively be applied to solve food shortage (just watch the movie ;-). What I want to say? No, absolutely nothing regarding composing more proper music for the euthanasia chambers shown in the movie. How even dare you to think, bad people?! It's clearly easier than that: GLASYS definitely belongs to the well appreciated unexpected what happens in our weird world - and I'm looking forward to GLASYS in 2022, who makes our lives a bit better while we have to deal with how dystopian movie plots become reality bit by bit (hopefully not the "Soylent Green" way) ;-D! Happy New Year's Eve and all the best :-)!

I’m particularly drawn to your videos because I messed around with live midi art drawing letters (namely. F, U, C, and K) and then trying to draw basic shapes, so I can moderately appreciate what goes into drawing the freaking piano
