Thanks for the demo. It showcases nicely what you can achieve with this beast of a machine. The quality is outstanding. The arranger features and ability to knock out a quick tune is demonstrated well. I hope the sequencer is more intuitive than that on the Genos 🙂

Are these strings as good as Wersi?
Korg have made a huge step forward with the Pa5X both in the style and sound department. They always had a more "in your face sound" where Yamaha sometimes can be said to sound a bit "too" polished. A very serious contender to the Genos. It begins to sound like the best things taken from when Solton/Ketron rocket the boat years back and gave Yamaha and Roland a run for their money in sounding more realistic especially for European and scandinavian music styles, where the japanese arrangers were often overfilled with useless arrangements that just sounded awfull. But the prising also shows that these Arrangers are going to take the place of the decline of the "Workstation". I still love my Kronos but honestly there is a hella lot more usefull and live playable sounds in this and the Genos than in the mighty Kronos, and it doesn't take a degree in engineering and Physics and a buttload of patience to get to learn to use and program. Even korg cleaned the user interface a little with the Nautilus it's still just a crippled Kronos with some fresh factory samples to milk the nearly 30 year old Oasys project which nearly made Korg fold cause of its development cost if Yamaha hadn't saved them. Todays Arrangers might miss some details in sound design, but most users still mostly look at how well the factory sounds of many synths are, as they don't have the patience to learn all the aspects of each board in making their own sounds, and in many ways an Arranger is just as advanced as many workstations today. Most of the top boards is almost a full fledged DAW and have the ability to load new samples too. The Pa5X could easily replace my Kronos 2 73 as main board. And the fact that the arrangers is about the only way to get a decent "Vocalist" today since TC Helicon discontinued their standalone models make them more desireable even the high price tag which is about the only con I can find about the Pa5X. And I really thaught Yamaha pushed it a bit beyoond the limit with the Genos. But as long as we look away from things like Wersi, Korg oficially have the most expencive arranger on the planet 🥳

Brass and String section are very outstanding. I really love how Korg delivers us the feeling of real sound instruments. Hopefully I can buy PA5X one day soon.

Hi Leigh. Despite some of the misgivings about missing functions in the OS I certainly can't fault the fidelity of the sounds. I thought the Strings section was phenomenal. Personally for me the best I've ever heard on any Arranger. A really comprehensive Demo of sounds and some of the Styles. Well done Leigh. Always enjoy your Demonstrations.

Great demo of Cinematic and Ballroom styles but few others, I would like to hear how it handles other Genres such as funk, soul, R&B, blues, Country and modern Pop
amazing instrument! I really think that this will become the serious gamechanger for the Genos...although that too is a great instrument, but same as the PA4 became the best.... they did it again!
I had a PA4X and really liked it, but was never able to get around some of the features. Like making your own styles, and the sequencer. Drove me NUTS! But now, with the new lay out, it looks like those issues are a thing of the past.
I'm buying the 76 version. The Fatar keybed is SO GREAT, it really allows you to play organ swipes and piano runs with ease.

Thanks for the demo. The sounds of the Pa5x are truly fantastic. In my opinion now Korg has to work more on the quality of the styles.
On the contrary, I think the styles are more realistic than on the Yamaha Genos.
Great job! Sounds so fun to play. I’m a saxophonist and I see that still nobody can reproduce a decent sax sound. I wonder if anyone will ever crack that.

Ensuite très très très bon clavier que j’ai eu l’occasion d’essayer et que je vais acquérir prochainement ( j’ai toujours eu des Yamaha dont le dernier était un Tyros5). Le clavier a un son naturel beaucoup plus dynamique et réel que Yamaha actuellement.

Lovely job Leigh formed great background music for me. I have been looking at excuses to get this or the Nautilus although mainly playing piano right now. I tend towards free ranging music on Nautilus despite the quality of the seemingly not too intrusive styles. But tempting nevertheless
Hey there Leigh --- tiny note here.. you may want to turn up your microphone when you go to talk.. Other than that, it was one awesomely fantastic video.. and here I am planning on at some point getting a Yamaha PSR-SX900, and at another point acquiring a pedal steel guitar to go along with it.... The Korg PA5X has blown me away, bro! This newfangled flagship of one of the ultimate sweet keyboards is definitely goin' onto my wish-list .. Thats for darn sure! Yeah!!😃

I have a PA-800. I wanted the PA4X, but I am drooling over this in all the demos and tutorials I've seen so far. What an amazing instrument. The funny thing is, this is only $100 USD more than the PA4X-76 Oriental. Amazing deal, and it's STILL less than the Genos!
where are you from, if its stil less than the genos
And a Chevy is STILL less than a Mercedes.
This Pa-5x has much better natural sounds and styles than the Genos. Besides, the semi-weighted Keyboard fingers are far ahead better in all respects.
@@Ahmad-vw5uw I think the Genos is more ready to play live, with songs that are already dripping with effects. That's not a bad thing if you're playing a gig. The Korg, to me, sounds more like an acoustic instrument 'in the raw.' That means processing to get a record ready sound, but it also allows you to tailor it to what you want.
Of course, I'm talking the samples, even before onboard processing.

That piano sound even rivals the Keyscape one!
There is a Guitar selection that you made and I could almost hear Classical Jazz. It would have been so cool had you played that from your repertoire. With you using F as your Dhrone it was quite realistic and better than Yamaha for the bagpipes.
Some very nice stiles and instruments sounds, sad that they didn't include the typical quick backing recording - editing.
Hi Leigh , I’m sure your excited about the new Genos 2 arriving I look forward to your first impressions asap. I want fully weighted keyboard this time so it’s fingers crossed, Otherwise it’s pa5x ! As a Genos fan I guess you expect the new Genos 2 to totally blow the Korg away .
It's interesting to hear that the spanish guitar sound...sounds just like the one I modified from my Triton Extreme 88 years ago. Happy, shocked or not I don't know how to feel about that.

apart from great sounds and styles biggest step forward in my opinion is user interface - much simpler user friendly and intuitive compare to older versions of PA. its great sounding out of the box without digging in menus for customization's like it was in the past.. and with that is real Genos killer which played great out of the box

I am waiting to test this new instrument. I am a composer and I use a lot of strings horns etc. For example I want to hear the Henry Mancini or Jobim sounds and rhythms. Things that I obtain from my Yamaha GENOS. So I will test as soon as possible the Pa5x hoping to obtain what I want. In this case I will buy this second arranger.

I have a question.... You can split the keyboard in several places. For example LOWER from C1 to C2, UPPER 3 from C3 to C4, UPPER 2 from D4 to F5 etc ?
God wish it didnt look so much like a Roland and Yamaha Had a baby! But great job Korg you will always be #1
Love my Korgs, always have - many years. I still don't hear an improvement on the acoustic pianos (although raved about my the presenter). Any thoughts here on my comment? I would like to hear one live.

Hello Leigh, great demonstration. Are you by purporse playing the most songs in C major to keep it more easier to learn the songs and play them?
The Sounds of the instruments have been developed dramatically from KORG in this Pa-5X Unit. Also, many new Styles and Accompany Chords have been added. With the Semi-weighted Keys; and after touch facility; the playing of this unit will be much more pleasant, with realistic live sounds, than playing the YAMAHA Genos.
We wait for the. Genos2 that blow away this pa5x again but till than this is an outstandig keyboard

Question , the korg pa5x has a sequencer to create music from scratch , will it be possible in the korg to record the rhythm in the sequencer and then continue adding sounds like in the Genos ?
you can’t at the moment but believe there is an update coming.
